    Breakfast ready at my door!

Simply wonderful experience. My pup and I stayed in the Thomas Walker Annex. First of all the unit was perfectly clean upon arrival and decorated with such charm, I loved it. I'll never get over how warm and happy the place made me feel just walking in! The staff were so helpful and accommodating, especially since I had to be in and out for interview purposes. My pup loved the balcony with a running stream below and the unit was perfectly tucked away with our own entrance which was super convenient. The food was great, I was away for breakfast in a meeting and they left it ready for me at my door when I came back!! The location is also superb, right at the foot of the hikes I wanted to do (ridge line and Tri state hike) so I could just walk right from my room, same thing with food and coffee! Can't say enough great things about the place!

Right next door is a bike museum!

Great place to stay! the owner, Kimberly, is outstanding! Everyone is very friendly! Adorable little town right next to the Cumberland National Park. Breakfast was excellent. So glad we decided to stay here! Tons of history.

Snacks in the room when we arrived

What a nice, relaxing place. We were basically the only guest there. They were very friendly and accommodating. We had a great breakfast when we left our last day. We went hiking and I asked about a breakfast to go. They made for us orange juice, water, granola bars, blueberry muffins, peanut butter bars and a wonderful parfait. They made sure we were ready for our major hike to the sand caves and white rocks. I recommend this cute little place. The town is small but very friendly people. I would go back if I'm in the area. The room was clean and the bed was relaxing. Thank you for a great stay!

Absolutely top-notch service and amenities at this rustic Cumberland Gap B&B. If you are looking for a quiet, quaint getaway to relax and commune with nature. The staff make you feel part of the family, and have a charm that makes this experience one of a kind. Make sure to get up early and enjoy their breakfast, it is fantastic.

We booked the Daniel Boone suite for a long weekend and we were smiling from the moment we drove up.

And the nice thing is that it's conveniently located only 9 miles from downtown Knoxville. When you arrive, Lynn will give you a tour of the place, give you instructions and your special key code to get in and out as you please, and lastly, bring you to your room. We have stayed in two different rooms and our favorite is the spacious room upstairs with the en-suite bathroom. Room amenities include: extra towels, pillows, and blankets, a fan, a white noise machine, smart T.V., luggage stand, and a binder of useful information. Each morning, Lynn serves a continental breakfast from 8-10 a.m. which includes: fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, homemade muffins, granola bars, and oatmeal. The coffee and tea bar is always open, which I just love. I can't sing enough accolades for this beautiful bed and breakfast and its delightful host. If you're visiting Knoxville and you need a place to stay, you don't need to search any further.

But everything else was a solid 3. Nothing wrong with it at all... But, I was underwhelmed based on my previous experiences. When we checked in, the host was fine. The room was fine. The bathroom did leave some things to be desired. There was not a good place to put your toiletries. We also had to climb into a very deep bathtub to get to the shower... If you are clumsy, like me, you may walk away with a couple of bruises. The house itself was very pretty, and was decorated in a manner appropriate for the property. I would've liked to seen some warm blanket to sit out on the patio with, board games, or puzzles to pass the time. There was only one sofa, and it was not in a cozy little nook where you would want to hang out. The food was fine. The menu is heavy on carbs and sweet breakfast treats. They were executed well enough. But there was not any particular breakfast that knocked my socks off. Again it was fine. The location was very convenient to downtown Asheville. It would be a two minute drive or a 10 minute walk to downtown Asheville. This bed-and-breakfast did not appear to be owned and operated by the hosts, rather an absentee corporation or business. I think that made the difference. Everything was fine, but it didn't have that touch of home that you expect when you stay at a bed and breakfast. For example, when we wanted to use the television, and needed some assistance, when we called the number that was left, the call was blocked. On a whim , we texted Fortunately, they responded right away. But ultimately, after 6 PM you are on your own in terms of staffing. Overall, I can recommend Beaufort House, but I think next time I will try something different.

However, I was expecting this to be a special and elegant experience and it was not. When we arrived during the specific check in time the door was locked and no one was in the front office. It turns out they were showing someone else to their room but we didn't know that. We just stood out on the porch not knowing what to do until someone finally came to the door. There's no reason they couldn't have the front door unlocked during the limited window of check in time. The person who showed us around said there would be "heavy continental breakfast ". However, it turned out the breakfast was probably the very absolute minimum they could provide and still call it breakfast. It was very disappointing. If I'm not mistaken it was only available from 8:30 until 9:30 or something very limited like that. Finally, there was no lotion in our bathroom, only shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap. I would stay there again but I would have to weigh the options of amenities and prices of other hotels. A regular mid price hotel has more amenities than what was offered when we stayed.
