This was a wonderful place. We came to see our nephew receive his white coat at Lincoln Memorial and this location was PERFECT. The staff could not have been more wonderful, the rooms were comfortable and provided what each person needed in our party. The breakfast was OMG!!! This is a gem and just surrounded by so much walkable beauty. Lots of opportunity to shop locally and to explore a very beautiful part of the country. I also appreciate the care they provided to my 80+ year old mom when she just wanted to sit on the porch- they made sure she was comfortable and even helped her get on the internet when she couldn't figure it out. What a lovely treat the Olde Mill Inn was!! So quaint and precious the atmosphere!! You definitely are taken back to another era, simplier and special. My bed was heavenly, soft sheets and cozy comfy covers. Total peace and quiet with the swirl of the creek in the background. Breakfast the next morning outside in the summer glow was delightful. Food was amazing and great coffee. What a lovely couples retreat,, or family get away. I shopped and had so much fun in the antique nooks and crannies. Great restaurants too in town I was pleasantly surprised. I plan on returning for sure. Fall or Christmas how special that would be! read more

The Inn itself is so unique. The old structre and the new decor blend together so we'll. It's historic and beautiful with every room unique (and each has its own bathroom)! Simply wonderful experience. My pup and I stayed in the Thomas Walker Annex. First of all the unit was perfectly clean upon arrival and decorated with such charm, I loved it. I'll never get over how warm and happy the place made me feel just walking in! The staff were so helpful and accommodating, especially since I had to be in and out for interview purposes. My pup loved the balcony with a running stream below and the unit was perfectly tucked away with our own entrance which was super convenient. The food was great, I was away for breakfast in a meeting and they left it ready for me at my door when I came back!! The location is also superb, right at the foot of the hikes I wanted to do (ridge line and Tri state hike) so I could just walk right from my room, same thing with food and coffee! Can't say enough great things about the place! read more

What a nice, relaxing place. We were basically the only guest there. They were very friendly and accommodating. We had a great breakfast when we left our last day. We went hiking and I asked about a breakfast to go. They made for us orange juice, water, granola bars, blueberry muffins, peanut butter bars and a wonderful parfait. They made sure we were ready for our major hike to the sand caves and white rocks. I recommend this cute little place. The town is small but very friendly people. I would go back if I'm in the area. So, I'm in love with this place. My partner and I felt super comfortable and at home the entire time we were here. We stayed in Daniel Boone, a super cool room with a very, very comfortable bed. Great WiFi, great staff, and amazing conversations around the table that just feel like home. BEST GRITS I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. For real, I'm from the south - I've had my share of grits - but these grits win. Trails are only seconds away, great coffee shop and bar only a block away. This inn wins in hospitality, attention-to-detail, and charm. Big thanks to Amy and Kimberley for treating us like family. We love y'all! read more

Best breakfast I have ever eaten! We didn't realize how difficult it would be to find lodging in this area but they were able to accommodate us last minute--we are so glad they did! The area felt safe (which was a big concern given we are moving cross-county so have a car full of things) and the views from the room were breathtaking. We stayed in the Pinnacle room, which was clean and comfortable. We were very impressed with the additional cleaning protocol they are following due to COVID. Would give them 100 stars if we could. An amazing little B&B as steeped in history and southern charm as it is in the natural wonder of the Cumberland Gap. I had the distinct pleasure of staying the "Creekside" room, and it lives up to the name. During the day you can open the window to your room and hear the slow turn of the mill's original water wheel. At night this is turned off, and your serenaded to sleep by the babbling brook that flows right by the inn. Stepping outside the inn's front door, you find yourself immediately staring into the Cumberland, and with 2 minutes of very leisurely walking you find yourself at a trailhead with access to all of the wonderful hiking trails that the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park has to offer. The room was very clean, comfortable, and the staff was unbelievably attentive and friendly. I'm not normally a social creature, and was honestly a bit worried about the communal breakfast in the morning. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy a very filling breakfast of southern favorites, in the company of around 6 other guests (even managed to bump into another couple from my home town). The owner joined us for breakfast, and entertained us with some history about this amazing little building, and how it came to be hers. My only regret from my stay, is that I chose to make it a 1 night stay as part of a larger trip. Thankfully I only live a few hours away, so I will definitely be back in a few months for a much longer excursion. If you're looking to spend a few days in a quiet and charming little town, the Old Mill Inn blow all of your expectations away. If you're looking for a comfortable base of operations for a few (or more) days of hiking through the majesty of the Cumberland mountains, you'll be even happier. read more

Arrived after midnight from NC and easily punched the key code in. They had a nice welcome letter/ instructions for us and we found our room up the stairs with the light and electric fireplace on. There were snacks/water, toiletries and robes waiting for us. We stayed in the Pinnacle room and it was adorable. My friend had a med school interview at LMU and had to leave early in the AM. She took some snacks and coffee for the road. I got to enjoy the company of two other guests and the Manager Amy who cooked us the BEST breakfast!! Such southern hospitality and genuine kindness here. Even chatted with the owner briefly. I got to see every room here and they were all unique and adorable. I ventured around town and even went for a hike up to the Cumberland gap, waterfall and cave! It was a blast. If I ever venture back this way, I will 100% be staying here. Such a unique experience compared to staying in a commercial hotel or lonely air bnb. If you're in the area, check out the history and beautiful sites! read more

We booked the Daniel Boone suite for a long weekend and we were smiling from the moment we drove up. The hosts were such lovely people, hospitable and courteous. Our room was like an old cabin lodge with one double bed and bunk beds, roomy and well ventilated. Breakfast was served each morning in the dining room (included with your stay) and it was like joining family for morning coffee and conversation (plus the breakfast was hearty and delicious). The Inn is blocks from streams, paths, and everything a quaint little town would offer. The Little Congress Bicycle Museum is next door, small, but so lovely -- and if you get to talk to the curator, that's such a bonus! We loved our stay-- if we're back in the area, this will surely be the place to stay. read more
