Back in the area for business. Making a reservation was easy and when I got here, it was confirmed that the lady on the phone left detailed notes for anyone after her because of an exemption they give with certain employers on room rates. The issue though was that the elevator was out of use (ended up finding out it was caused by a bad capacitor caused by a lightning strike, a maintenance individual coming in to replace it and not doing it, and then an emergency switch catastrophic failure), but this was disclosed as I was making my reservation on the phone. I was able to get a king suite (picture 39 of 63 on this Yelp entry) just because the rest of the rooms were sold out on the first floor. From my last review, one item I never elaborated on was the cable. Yes, this hotel does have History, Discovery, and Travel channels. In fact, I think they maxed out the tiers on whomever their cable provider is. 10/14/2025 GEEZUS! They are innovative with their breakfast?! I went down to find either country fried steak or a chicken patty along with sausage patties and hash browns in the breakfast area. Whatever it was, it was so good (the meat inside was white, so probably chicken). This is definitely a nice change from just having sausage or bacon like at other hotels I have stayed at. By introducing a meat with breading, it is further enhanced by the sausage gravy that this hotel serves for its biscuits and gravy! One could even make waffles and you get? Chicken and waffles! Suggestion: If the owner of this hotel reads this review, consider putting out cold cut salami or ham slices and a cheese plate. Apparently, all the top tier hotels in Europe do that. 10/15 The breakfast was still the same, with all the same meats, baked goods, etc. I ended up getting a waffle and trying it with the chicken patty and it was great. CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! Good with syrup and ketchup as well. The only issue with dining was just that this hotel does not keep any caffeinated and decaffeinated teas. All in all, it was a good stay. Spent one night at Sleep Inn & Suites, Middlesboro, which we booked months in advance based on price and reviews. Read on for the pros and cons... PROS: One of the best things about this hotel is it's set way back from the main road, so it's quiet. We were on a 3 week trip and I had the best sleep of the trip here. They also have a 'Quiet After 10pm' sign in the lobby to remind people to be quiet. The only thing we heard at night was a dog barking somewhere, but it wasn't that bothersome for very long. Typical hotel complimentary breakfast buffet including bananas, cold cereals, oatmeal, hot items, tea, coffee, juices, etc. Spacious breakfast seating area with TVs on the wall as well as a patio area. Complimentary parking in spacious outdoor, uncovered lot. Good shower pressure. Well maintained, clean. We saw someone picking up trash outside. Hairdryer, microwave, fridge, iron/board and safe in the room. Shampoo, soap and conditioner mini toiletries. CONS: VERY noisy fan in the bathroom. It was annoying! The hangers are the kind without hooks. Hate those! Lumpy pillows. Our GPS lead us astray to the hotel, so be mindful of that. Dining note: We ate at Ike's Pizza in downtown Middlesboro. This is the cleanest hotel where we have stayed. The ladies at the front desk, Belinda and Kendra, are so nice and helpful. The room has a walk in shower, cold refrigerator, and lots of room to put our things. We are so pleased with this place. If you are tired and need to rest - even one night or two- please seriously consider this excellent hotel. It has 3 floors and does have an elevator. They have a hot breakfast 6-9 AM and coffee 24/7 in the serving area. This Sleep Inn is near Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and Pine Mountain State Resort Park. Great hotel. The staff was amazing. I deducted a star because the heating system was LOUD. Like hilariously yet scary loud. Sounded like a mix between a jack hammer and a souped up muscle car's engine. It was so loud I laughed in disbelief. It did warm the room and we only need to turn it on once so it wasnt a big deal for us. They have quiet hours starting at 10 which was great because we really needed rest that night. The room was clean, the rollaway bed we needed was perfect, and the view from the room.was beautiful. The breakfast was just enough for us...eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, coffee and more along with very nice staff. Oh...they had warm cookies in the lobby and fruit infused water. Two nice homey touches. Despite the loud heating system, we would stay again. The staff, amenities, and comfortable room made it a great stay. read more

If this hotel was in my state, my husband and I would be taking weekend trips to it. It was amazingly great. You know when you arrive at a hotel after being in a car for 8 hours, and you put that card key in the door and you're just not sure what to expect? You slowly open the door and whisper to yourself "okay, what did I pay for?" Well, the Sleep Inn in Middlesboro is one where you open the door and say "I ROCKED THIS RESERVATION!" The room is beautiful. Really, if this hotel was in Nashville you'd be paying $200/night for it. It's a luxury stay on the KY-TN border. We (me, husband and son) were so comfortable and relaxed in the room that we ended up just ordering some pizzas and having dinner in the room, rather than go out. Prior to this stay we had spent two nights at two different hotels - both with horrible beds which made our backs ache for miles and miles. The beds here? Wonderful. Soft. Comfortable. Restful. The front desk staff - pleasant, nice, smiling. The breakfast area was great, well-stocked, and lots of variety (I posted some pics.) If I ever go to Middlesboro or to any of the surrounding areas again, this is the ONLY place I will stay. Some Tips The hotel is set back off the road. The driveway up to the hotel is in between a Hardee's and a Holiday Inn Express. There's an 84 Lumber there, and the hotel was built way behind it. This is a dry county. So if you're planning on going out for drinks, or purchasing something to take back to your room, you can't. So, plan ahead if you'd like an adult beverage. read more

Wow! I was hoping for just a decent night sleep and a decent place to stay. Normally I'm a Marriott guy....but their prices were crazy for 4th of July week....so I'm saving money here. This place could match the best Courtyard I'd ever stayed at. It was clean, 100% smoke free and the room was immaculate! Wi-fi worked great, nice flat panel on the wall with HD channels. Staff was friendly and very helpful! Parking is plentiful. Short drive to Knoxville, TN if you are looking for a nice place within a reasonable distance. read more

Spent a night at the Sleep Inn. It is one of the newer hotels in Middlesboro. We were very happy with our stay. Registration went smoothly. Our room was of contemporary size. The bathroom was clean and the plumbing functioned properly. The bed comfortable and there were ample pillows. The curtain fit window well and kept the light out. The hotel serves a complementary breakfast. It included eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, yogurt, fresh fruit, make-it-yourself waffles, juices, coffee, cold cereal, oatmeal, English muffins, bagels, sweet rolls, etc. Not too bad. All-in-all, our stay at the Sleep Inn was very nice and I highly recommend staying there if you find yourself in Middlesboro. read more

I stayed at the Sleep Inn in Middlesboro twice in the last month and both times I was very impressed. The staff were friendly and courteous. They even called up to my room to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. Not many hotels would do that now a days, and it just makes the guest feel comfortable and actually cared for. The location of this Sleep Inn is a big selling point: sitting up on a hill overlooking the main strip with all the stores and restaurants. It's a good escape to be up above it all and tucked away in the woods. The rooms are spacious and have a beautiful color design. I made a lot of use of the desk and it had a very comfortable chair. The beds were comfortable and the pillows nice and firm. The best part of my stay, though, was the continental breakfast served each morning from 6-9:30. Fresh bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, the most amazing cinnamon roll pastries, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal - basically anything you can imagine. Overall throughout the entire experience, the Sleep Inn in Middlesboro is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. I will be recommending anyone I know who is coming to visit the area to stay there, and I can't wait to check back in again myself. read more

Traveling through late without a place to stay, we came upon this hotel. What a great place. Matt helped us get the last room available. He was awesome and so helpful! Thank you! Rooms were clean, nicely decorated. Beds and pillows were soft and very comfortable. A great sleep. Quiet hotel and felt very safe. Shower head had great pressure and many towels available. Breakfast was plenty! Biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage and waffles with chocolate chips. Toast, muffins and many types of drinks. Nice dining room. The kitchen kept food clean and well stocked for all. Parking was well lit with plenty of parking. All in all a great experience. I'd definitely choose if I was coming to area. read more

I travel all the time for work (20-25 wks a year). I'm all over the country. I should note I have Gold Status with Marriott & Hilton. This is one of the best mid-class hotels I've ever stayed in - PERIOD. Everything about this place is great. The folks at the front desk were great. The room was a Jr. suite that was very nice. A couch and coffee table besides the bed of course. The bed was great and TV channel line up was very good. If you're coming to Middlesboro - LOOK NO FURTHER - stay here. The General Manager is super friendly and wants you to enjoy your stay. Bonus Item: Choice Privileges members get a nifty bottle of water with their name on it :) read more

stayed one night while passing thru. have stayed at the Holiday Inn at the bottom of the hill, but they were full and sent me up to the Sleep Inn. I lucked out since the Sleep Inn is newer, cleaner, nicer, quieter and cheaper than the Holiday Inn. will def stay there again! read more

This Sleep Inn & Suites was one of the better facilities that we've stayed in. The handicapped suite was spacious and the shower area was outstanding with enough grab bars located in critical areas. The welcome staff were gracious and friendly. Breakfast was great and the scrambled eggs were prepared perfectly with the right amount of seasoning. Unfortunately, there have been a few times that we have been forced to stay at the Sleep Inn. But after 2 nights ago that will be my last. There are only 2 hotels/motels in this area that anyone would stay at. The other place was booked & we were exhausted. We was put into a handicap room that cost more per night. And they advertise FREE WIFI. So after driving approximately 16 hours I was ready to relax, get on my iPad, & go to sleep. First, the bed is like sleeping on a concrete floor in both rooms that we were in. We had no wifi. We had to pay for a room that was advertised free Wifi. Long story I spoke with the General Manager, she is aware they have NO wifi. None. Never will I stay there again. A lady was sitting in the lobby while we were checking out said the same thing. She's a night owl like myself. Never again. They are a business & they are advertising free Wifi. That's false information. read more
