Many international grocers have no desire to spruce up their stores because they know the focused customer base will continue to shop there, especially if there is no nearby competition. However, this place does an excellent job of appealing to the general public, with its ample selection of meats, cheeses, frozen and dried goods. If you plan on visiting the store on Fridays, remember that its closed around noon. I forgot what time exactly, but it is listed on the front door. I parked on the street at a metered spot right in front of the store and did not notice a nearby lot for shoppers.

Hana Asian Market update!…read more The Gyro shop two doors down from their store has closed and the restaurant space is now vacant. The good news is that Hana Asian Market is now negotiating with the city of Bloomington to make it into a Korean restaurant! I can't wait for this to open. I talked to one of the owners, and she said that they had hoped to open in November, but negotiations with the city is going slower than expected. Hopefully this will be resolved soon, because we need a Korean place in Bloomington at this location. More to follow soon!
