It was easy to get an appointment, they were prompt, fixed my issues quickly, explained problems in easy terms and charged a more than fair amount. Kyle was kind and honestly I just got trustworthy vibes off of him. He fixed what I asked for and didn't try to push but gave me a small what I would call "wish list" of things my car will need soon and fair quotes. I came to J's Auto Service for a routine state inspection and emissions check. Everything was fine other than a puncture in one of my tires and my brake lights being out. When I picked up my vehicle the odometer was up an additional 5 miles even though their invoice states there was no change in mileage. (Miles in 158,162, actual miles out 158,167 ( see attached photos)). This was odd but I didn't think anything of it since a road test is usually preformed. Fast forward to when I got the tire replaced at their shop/to get my other sticker for inspection. I picked it up after work and was a little surprised it costed $52.86 ($63.11 - $10.25 (state safety sticker)) for ONE tire. I started driving and realized my dashcam was unplugged. I contacted the shop and asked why this happened. I spoke with Christine who told me, "All we did was install your tire and check your brake lights". I go home and review the footage. I come to find out that they did indeed unplug my dash cam. Not cool. I also reviewed the footage from the day of my inspection. Prior to my vehicle ever being inspected, Jamie and Christine used my vehicle to pick up another customers car! They came back, inspected my vehicle and then conducted a road test. I paid for a state inspection/emissions test, not for them to use my car for their business. I will not be giving them my business after this and will not recommend them to anyone.

(The resulting clacking sound could indicate engine damage.) They tried to blame it on my engine burning too much oil but this has never been the case with my former garage. The person I spoke with was condescending, not believing and not at all interested in the possibility that I could have a valid opinion. Won't go back. I said "mixed proficiency" because I'd gone to them once in the past and it was fine - that wasn't an oil change, however. I'm very glad I was able to go back to my former garage and that I have that experience for comparison. I would say that they are on the defensive about their work, also that they have a greedy mentality, charging for "loaner" cars. Customer value is number 1 and along with that, valuing what your customer has to say about their experience.

I went there first mostly because it was convenient to my home and had flexibility to drop off cars and still go to work, etc. Over time, I realized that I would travel to them even if they were not that convenient. I can always count on them being honest, trustworthy, competent, and fair. I like that I can say, "let me know if you think I need anything else" and sometimes I have requested service only to have them say, "no, you don't really need that yet." "Okay, where's a good place to take it?" "Take it to Jon Hager Auto Repair in Telford! He's a good guy, will do a great job and will treat you well! And that's exactly what happened. Jon was very cooperative, did a great job, completed the car in reasonable time and gave me back my 2021 Honda CRV looking like new!
