VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, don't communicate anything not even a call back to say they cant schedule an appointment. My husband has been waiting months for an appointment. I went to another dentist and the new dentist found just one cavity. The cavity was in a different location than any of the 10 "cavities" Kuhio dental found. I feel like this place is outdated and inefficient. I'm very glad I didn't get all of my fillings replaced as I'm still not experiencing any tooth pain or problems many months later. I hate going to the dentist. I really hate it and will go years between visits. I had a really great experience here. The dentist is kind and knowledgeable and really takes time to explain what he is doing and why there are problems. He spent a long time to address any concerns. His staff was also really nice. It was easy to make an appointment as well. Being a healthcare professional myself... it's about trust and I do trust and respect the dentist. Glad to have found this place! read more

How's this for an updated review! I've been to Kuhio dental plenty of times, I've seen a dentist that wasn't very nice. Today was my first day back to the dentist in almost 4 years(I don't have dental coverage) for an emergency. Dr. Mah is AMAZING. The girls there are FABULOUS & he had me leave with a super numb lip but regardless a HUGE smile! he looked at my tooth took a pause & told me he wasn't letting me leave with a tooth missing in the front! AMAZING!!! He numbed me so smoothly barely felt a thing & did his magic. Let me leave with 2 TEETH! 2 STRAIGHT TEETH(temporary ones). He knows what he's doing and I'm glad I went!! My kids have been coming to Kuhio Dental for approx 10 years. For 5 years they had a really good female dentist who no longer works there. The only thing good about Kuhio Dental was her. Enough Said.... but if you want the truth here it is. My kids go in for regular checkups every year. Last year my child needed two fillings.The year before that my child had 1 filling. This year my child had 4 fillings and they want us to come back for 4 more and a possible root canal. I was very concerned and ask the girl at the front desk why my child needed all those fillings now and a root canal because nothings wrong with my childs teeth. The girl at the front desk said the dentist has to change the fillings every year to fresh it. And she said also as for the root canal my child may or may not need it. I felt so confused because my child has no pain no cavities not even a filling in the "root canal" tooth. The girl at the front desk kept trying to hurry me to make an appointment to get rid of me probably. So I told her I'd make an appointment in a couple months. She was like no no i have to make it for next week because this is really urgent and I dont want to wait. (I'm thinking who the heck are you?! haha) NEVER NEVER going there again! its a joke. They only want money. and my child said the dentist and his assistant are always talking bad about his wife right in front of my child as they are working. Oh and my other child who actually needed fillings didn't get any fillings because the dentist said just floss it and keep the cavity clean and it will be all good. read more

So we went in here and the while the office is nice and the people are professional, I have the distinct impression it's because the dentist rips off everyone for as much money as insurance will cover. I literally sat in the chair (watching a personal tv #nice) and he looked in my mouth for MAYBE 10 seconds before sitting me up and telling me I most likely need a root canal. I know for a fact (I went to a different dentist about 6 months ago) that I don't need one. To the dentist: If you're concerned about the patient's solvency, do not send them away untreated. It's not about professionalism, it's about integrity. All in all, not going here again. read more

i had to rate one star because yelp does not do 'negative' stars. by far THE WORST dental experience ive had in my life, & the biggest donut-run to boot. i had scheduled an appointment to get my wisdoms removed 2-3 months in advance. 1 week prior to the appointment i called to confirm, & the receptionist confirmed it as well. when i showed up for the appointment, & was already in the dentist chair, one of the workers asked me "oh, you get sore tooth?" to which i was stunned & replied "no, im here to get my wisdoms out". thennnnn they go on to say that the doctor that does extractions isnt in today & that he comes in tomorrow, & that i would have to reschedule. needless to say, i was baffled, as i had called in 1 week ago to confirm, & that on my file it stated what i needed to be done: 4 wisdom extractions, so why didnt they make the correlation between dentists?. regardless, they just told me to "come in tomorrow & he'll take care of it" & then, went on to belittle the situation by saying "oh cute your phone!" & trying to make small talk like that to kiss up. needless to say, that made me even more livid, but i calmly & respectfully got up & rescheduled for the next day. so today is the next day & i show up only to be told that once again i could not have my wisdoms extracted because the doctor had an emergency today, & had left early. i would have to come in on thursday. normally, i am a very passive & forgiving person as i too, work in customer service, but this was just insane. i had taken the week off from work & school for the sole purpose of getting this procedure done, & with a procedure such as this, i need to set up a ride system where someone in my family can drop me off & pick me up because you cannot drive yourself (or its advised against) after you have your wisdom surgery. i know that there are some things you cannot help but WHY did i not get a call to inform me that the doctor had left? i asked the receptionist if they had my number on file (which they did), & yet i still did not receive a call. why is everything at kuhio dental so ass-backwards? i am just so fed up & livid from this whole experience that i am determined to find another dentist after this whole situation is over. what a waste of time & gas. I initially brought my kids to this facility because they were open I think either Saturday's or Sunday's. This meant I didn't have to take my kids out of school for an appointment. Eventually they changed to where they were only open on the weekdays and no appointments later than 2pm. Most times we would have to wait 1-2 hours after their scheduled appointment before they are even seen! Last visit the receptionist did t want to schedule my kids next 6 month checkup and advised me to call the office another day to do so. Really??? We were the last ones in there it's not like it would've taken an hour to schedule. Today I take off from work to take my kids to their scheduled checkup only to find a note on their door stating that they are closed today. I understand that hints happen where they may have had to close today but is it so hard to give courtesy calls for those that had appointments today??? I lost a days worth of wages for nothing! I've dealt with several last minute cancellations from this place but this time they went too far. I am taking my children to a real dental office! read more

Staff are friendly, but I really hate coming here always wait at least hour half to two hours , one time I was there three. My last two vists was the worst waited two n a half hours had to reschedule because they said it would be another half hour , so when I came to the rescheduled appt been here a little over two hours they asked if I want to reschedule are they kidding me . They just told me oh it will be just another 30 2 45 mins. I need a new dentist for my kids any suggestions? read more
