Our 130 year old Victorian was in desperate need of an electrical update. Old ( and I mean old) BX wiring was a major concern. Additionally, many of the rooms had ancient pull-string ceiling light fixtures, or no fixtures at all. This was going to be a complicated project, and we needed to hire someone with expertise in re-wiring old homes. Kuhlman to the rescue! From start to finish the entire Kuhlman staff was friendly, professional, and responsive. Our project team ( Cody K., Cody M, and Jason) got the job done quickly ( about 5 days), with a surprisingly little amount of collateral mayhem. They started on time every morning, and did a great job cleaning up before leaving every afternoon. Cody K. provided us with regular updates throughout the course of the project to make sure we were 100% satisfied. After the project was complete, we hired a plastering company to re-plaster all of our ceilings. When that task was done, Cody K ( and Riley...thanks Riley) came back to our home to install all of our new ceiling fixtures. We could not be happier with the final product. Finally, I got a call back but that wasn't even the best part! For whatever reason electricians seem to be the hardest service to get a response. I asked multiple friends for referrals and none returned calls. I went to Yelp and for KES. They replied quickly online and provided a reasonable quote, followed by a call the next day to see if their electricians could stop by to help with a blown circuit. The guys were on time, very professional and efficient and to top it all off the invoice was less than they quoted! Oh, and they have a slick bill pay - I got an email after the service and just clicked through to e-Bill pay with a credit card. It was a great experience from start to finish. read more

They gone me in next day. There was no heat from the electric baseboards. They asked for measurements and a couple of pics over the phone. I sent them. When they got there it was the thermostat that was broken. They had one with them and replaced it. All baseboards were working after the thermostat. Honest people. read more

We had an excellent experience working with Kuhlman! We had them install an outlet for an induction stove. When the stove was delivered, it was tripping the breaker, and the delivery crew (through Best Buy) couldn't figure out why. I called Kuhlman and they knew what the problem was immediately (it had to do with a default feature of the range that needed to be overridden because of the breaker type). They came out promptly and fixed the stove, and then moved the outlet to make for a better fit. Above all, they generously didn't charge us for this additional service. They stand by their work, are knowledgeable, and their prices are reasonable (we had several quotes and theirs was the best). I recommend them without hesitation. read more

Kuhlman is working on a Brookline project for me. Although responsible and responsive, expect for them to take 4 weeks to start the work, then another 3 to 4 weeks ,after they complete the work, for them to get someone to be available for an electrical inspection. Several outdoor outlets, flood lights, and an interior switch Jesse arrived promptly as scheduled to perform an assessment and had a no-cost quote over within 48 hours. It was not the cheapest quote I received, but I appreciated their professionalism and a dedicated office to schedule and coordinate all activities. This feature is separate from the other guys who you call and they are in the middle of a job and ask you to call back next week (not a fan of that). Brandon and Shawn arrived for a three day job and were great to work with. Throughout the process, they kept me informed and involved in key decisions regarding fixture placement and other questions. We just purchased a home and needed to upgrade the electrical panel, Kuhlman came out and gave us a quote to upgrade the panel to 200 amp service along with replacing the plane which was old and rusty along with the emergency shut off connect. When Bryan and Mark came to complete the work it was a little more for just two persons, but they completed it and ran tests throughout the house. We used Kuhlman Electrical in Feb 2020 to install overhead lights we had purchased for our kitchen and dining room in our house in Beverly, MA. They came the day after our call to discuss the project details (ie. which wall switches would control the light, where holes would need to be made, etc). They promptly gave us a quote and scheduled the job within a few days. The two electricians who came were very friendly and professional and made double sure of all details. When they were done it took me a few minutes to find where they had made holes in the wall, i was very pleased with how minimal that was and how well they patched them. Everything came out exactly how we envisioned and the price was very reasonable too. I just scheduled more work with Kuhlman to add another overhead light in our office and a couple outside sconce lights for the back deck. Happy to go back, great experience. read more
