I'll need to come back and actually try some barbecue as this round went with family and tried the broasted chicken. This seems like a great small town option for some bar food. The broasted chicken was good and the broasted potatoes were decent too as they always need sour cream which was extra. The table had three orders of the broasted potatoes and it all came together in one basket which was odd and slightly lazy. We would have preferred to have it separate. My husband ordered sour cream but got ranch instead. They had the typical small town Iowa beer options (no blue moon though) as expected as they are going to serve what the locals want. No beer menu at the tables. Atmosphere is typical bar vibes and the sound echoes did make it hard to hear others in the large area in the back. Buffet on Thursdays and also a car show on Thursday's- I think once a month - which is a good reason to leave home and take your fun car or check out the cars there. read more

The special for the night was ribs... they did not disappoint in any way, tender, smoky, perfectly sauced. The waitstaff were VERY busy but attentive. The restaurant had small town charm with great seating and amenities. Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

This place does a bang up job! The staff are very attentive and caring. It's not huge inside, so might have a wait for seating. The broasted chicken was very tasty, it was nice that we were able to buy just a piece. I was able to get a cut of prime rib, just perfect for me. It was so tasty, and it comes with salad bar, potato, dessert and roll. Very very good. Side note, get there early, as they sell out pretty quickly. The Mac n Cheese was my least favorite item, it was blah, not much taste. The broccoli cheese soup was okay, but it tasted very much like frozen, not homemade, but I did not very source. The Carolina fries are tasty! It was a good helping, plenty for a few people. The wings were very good, smoked as well. Parking is tricky due to area downtown. The prices are a tad higher but you get big portions and the food is very good. Definitely will be back! read more

So I didn't have the BBQ but I did have the chicken bacon ranch wrap and it was super good. And filling! For the price of their food you cannot go wrong. I want to go back and try the pizza. The place is cute with what looked like a big dance floor for maybe some weekend bands or dances. The staff was very friendly and patient with us as we had two small children with us. I highly recommend checking this place out. I'm going to go back for the pulled pork wontons too! I'm kicking myself for not trying them. read more

This was my very first time to experience Kula's. I have been wanting to check this place out for awhile now! I heard that the prime rib specials and the barbecue Saturdays were the days to make it out to Kula's, but I came out on a Thursday night to have dinner with a wonderful friend! Let me tell you, the food at Kula's was incredible! We started out with naked smoked chicken wings! Naked is the way to go! Then, get sauces to try out on the side. I think these smoked chicken wings can easily be eaten without any sauce, but trying out different sauces can be quite fun! Heck! These wings are so good that next time, I'm ordering smoked chicken wings as my entree and as for my side, broasted potatoes is the way to go! And don't forget the side of sour cream & chives to dip them in!! I must also give their pork tenderloin sandwich some kudos as well. If you are expecting a flat, pounded out, crispy breaded pork tenderloin, you might be disappointed. This pork tenderloin was thick and juicy, probably breaded in a seasoned egg and flour mixture. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it sure was delicious! I loved it! My friend ordered the broasted chicken for her entree and she couldn't stop raving about how great the broasted chicken tasted! She ate every last bite! And by the way she was licking her fingers, I will have to order broasted chicken to go next time! Tonight I was stuffed! I felt like a Thanksgiving Turkey on the table Thanksgiving day! I give out lots of props to the owners and cooks behind the scene for their generous and tasty efforts! I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. We went with a group for a birthday, 6 couples and some kids. Made reservations. our tables were situated end to end. Waitress stood at far end to take our drink orders, We could not hear. Then 4 couples order the same appetizer that came all in one dish, Mind you, we are all paying our own tab. This was brought up to the waitress, she left it that way. Waited over an hour for menu orders to be ready...waitress came to refill drinks when most of us were in line to get ribs..Really, Really poor service. Plus they added 20% "tip" to the bill, which I tip nicely, but I would not have tipped her that much. Just a really bad experience. Most of us drove an hour or more to go. Semi-new BBQ joint in the old bowling alley in Walker. I attended my 10-year class reunion here and had s great time. The place was packed as it was prime rib night, however, most of us ordered from the menu. I went with the philly steak Sandwich which was loaded with juicy steak, peppers, onions, and cheese. It was pretty dang good. I also ordered the waffle fries (my all time favorite type of fries - I was pretty excited)! My friends ordered the pulled pork which also looked really good. The few things I was disappointed about was 1. You order your sides separately. 2. The waitress charged me for an extra beer I did not order. She even said "oops I accidentally put two beers on your tab" when she brought me my drink.... however I did not correct her when the receipt came as there were close to 25 of us and I knew it would be a hassle... read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. We went to dinner there on 9/5/2020 for ribs, nope they were not making ribs that day (Saturday). They also advertised bacon wrapped jalapeños for $1, nope did not make those either. Someone in our party ordered the fish platter and wanted to swap out a baked potato for the fried potatoes and they said that she couldn't do that, no idea why. After 45 minutes, everyone's meal came except the pizza that my husband and I ordered The waitress asked if everyone had what they needed and I asked where is our pizza? She checked and said they were just putting it together and we will have it in 15-20 minutes. So everyone is sitting there eating and we had to wait 15-20 minutes?? Manager seemed to think it was not an issue. We will NEVER go to this restaurant again, way better ribs at Fullers in Alburnett. read more
