It's been a long time since I had Kung Fu Tea regularly. I used to go all the time when I was younger up in Dallas, but now that I'm in College Station, my friend reintroduced it to me and I've been going back ever since. I'm usually a big fan of Koala, but Kung Fu is definitely becoming one of my go-to spots again. The shop itself is pretty spacious. There's a bar-style counter with high chairs and outlets along one wall, which is nice if you want to get some work done. On the other side, there are a couple of booths that are perfect for studying. It's usually quiet, and the music isn't too loud. One thing I wish they had is more places to plug things in. There's really only one outlet, so it would be helpful if they added a power strip or something similar for people using devices. The drinks have been solid overall. I've tried the oolong milk tea, which was good and pretty standard. I think they use milk powder in that one, just something to keep in mind. The mango slush was a little too artificial tasting for me, but still enjoyable every now and then depending on your mood. My current favorite is the Wow Milk Cap Oolong Tea. It has this creamy layer on top that you mix into the oolong tea, and the flavor is amazing. I get it at 30% sweetness with boba, and I've been obsessed. The boba is always soft and chewy with that perfect brown sugar flavor. They really get the texture right every time. The staff is always friendly and always get my order right. Service has been quick and easy every time I've visited. If you're into milk tea and looking for a chill spot to hang out or study, definitely check this place out. read more

I don't really know if this is my fault or not but i went for the Dubai cup and they advertised it as a medium sized cup (that they use in the restaurant for other items) and it was ten dollars, but when i got it, it was a tiny little bowl. Generally speaking, Kung Fu Tea scores 5, which is a huge compliment, considering that it's a massive international corporate chain, whose milk teas don't match up to the best chains: Sharetea, Gong Cha, Tea Top, and Coco. However, they're still really good, and the fruit teas here are among the best. Especially the lemon black tea which absolutely rocks my world. If it's not on the menu, demand it! Other fruit teas (Orange, Grapefruit, Pineapple) must also be ordered off-menu as Black Tea instead of the meh Green. Also the Lemon Black tastes good as a Lemon Oolong, but everyone else hates it because they have bad taste. An annoying thing about the chain is the corporate office (they're sketchy) and their rule that no drink can have its tea altered. I don't know why this place has such a low rating. They've definitely changed since all these one-star reviews from a couple of years ago. The inside is very clean and the employees were sweeping the floor often. As for the drinks, they were amazing. I ordered the Honey Oolong Milk Tea with 50% sweetness and it was perfect. The sweetness was not too overpowering and you could still taste the flavor of the Oolong Tea. I heard that they also got new Thai Tea leaves so I will have to come back to try it. read more

KFT is my safety net. When in doubt, KFT always cranks out consistently well made boba drinks. In my mind they always have the perfect textured pearls and this location is no exception, just sweet enough too. And the drinks are milky and the tea is good. The only thing I don't like is even at 70%, it's sweeter than 70% I've had at other locations and combined with the honey boba makes it really sweet. It's a sign that College Station is getting bigger if a bubble tea franchise thinks it's a good idea to open up shop here. Kung Fu Tea is a bubble tea shop that I have frequented in many other cities around the country, so I'm happy that they're here at last. I will only review this particular location, since it had its soft opening very recently. NOTE: I hate you all because I was hoping someone would be the first to review and fill out the business details instead of me. SERVICE: Since it was soft opening, the place was still setting up with new employees. We were one of the first people there, and there was a handful of people working for the initial rush. It's typical service for a bubble tea place, where you order and they mad rush trying to finish your drink before the queue of drinks get too long. Think Starbucks without the chit-chat, which is a good thing since we're all only there for the drinks. Regardless, the manager was really friendly and welcoming to us, and the employees looked like they were working hard. DRINK: Since I hadn't had Kung Fu Tea in awhile and I was craving bubble tea, I decided to get greedy and order three drinks for myself: taro milk tea, Kung Fu (original) milk tea, and oreo milk tea, all with pudding. The oreo one was the only one that was not on the menu, but I knew about it since they have it at the other franchises. The drinks tasted like getting them at any other Kung Fu Tea, which is great since they're consistently delicious in other places. All three hit the spot, so I was relieved that the quality didn't drop for this particular new location. VALUE: Pretty much typical franchise bubble tea prices, which is comparable to drink prices at coffee shops like Starbucks. Reasonable size for the price of bubble tea in America. Bobba Tea!!! So my GF and I were driving back to Waco from Houston and on the way we wanted some tea. That is how we ended up stopping here. The place was nice. You go in and you have these chairs swinging on the ceiling. Very comfortable and clean place. Just like any other tea place I've been to they have a selection of board games that are readily available for you to enjoy. They have a lot of promo and points to earn to have you coming back. If you download their app you can earn points by posting photos on your social media accounts and linking your accounts on the app. This was a great idea if the app was working properly. But I am not here to review their app. The bobba tea was delicious. The tapioca balls were cooked just the way I love em. Not too soft or too hard. Something a number of places I've been to do not pay attention to I feel like. I LOVE BOBA TEA! Almost 2 years I am buying every week boba tea at this store. I posted a 5 star review many times to them! But I want to give ZERO now, they changed the size of the cups there large version is in reality medium comparing to another related business. Apparently they have only one option Sugar Free, but it is a lie because if you include boba on it, boba is full of sugar and then the Thai Milk Tea with boba has no sugar but the boba has it. Another episode is this week I bought a Thai Milk Tea with boba as usually, and there was a new employee and she prepared the drink less than a minute and gave me Thai Milk Tea white bege color tasting only milk and she lied on my face that is there new version of a Thai Tea "She must be kidding" 2 years drinking the same drink and she came with this terrible lie and joke. The owner always is there working but this time he wasn't there. Where are the drink standards flavor??? I paid so expensive $5.57 for she lie on my face given me milk. If they run out of stock please said that they don't have Thai Tea available. I am so disappointed with this employee. Please make sure your drink is the right one! If not return it. My issues are simple. 1) Comes off as a healthy place but all their ingredients are not. Smoothies are filled with corn syrup and junk. Went to get my medically fragile child a bubble tea drink. I asked about the sugar content and the guy said they only use real fruit and said he wouldn't add any extra sugar to ours. When I got the drink I tasted it and it's the sweetest drink I've ever had in my life. I go back to the counter and tell him and he reassures me there is no sugar, just fruit. I ask to see the flavor and he refuses. I look behind the counter and there is the trash syrup sitting on the counter marked "mango" (see picture attached). I show him and he admits it's syrup. I ask for a refund and he says they don't do refunds since I tasted it (literally 2 sips). By now my child is crying and upset. He continues to say that the syrup has no sugar in it only fruit - which is a lie. He continued to refused to refund me and look at my small child sitting there crying and not understanding why he can't have a Bubble tea. By the way, both Bonapptea and Sharetea near campus both use real fruit and allow you not to add sugar. They don't use a trash, gas station syrup slushy like Kung Fu Tea. $7 for a drink that doesn't use quality ingredients, then lie and says they do?!?! What a horrible, terrible business! read more

I have been waiting for this place to open like forever. So when it was finally open this week, i came on its 2nd day of opening. I am a frequent customer of Kungfu tea in houston and austin so i already know what i like. I always order taro milk tea at kungfu tea. So this time i also order Large taro milk tea with NO sugar (the syrup they use is already sweet). I specifically asked for them to reduce the syrup because that what i usually order at KFT in Houston and Austin. I was disappointed because when i drank it, it was clearly that they did not reduce the syrup. I was a bit upset because when i asked them to reduce the syrup, the cashier said yes but then never say anything to the worker who were making my drink. But i still have my faith with kungfu tea in College Station. So i went back and ordered the same precise order the day after. This time, i was very very very upset. I am never ever going back to this store. The same thing happened, the cashier said yes to me asking the syrup to be reduced. I witnessed the cashier never mentioned anything to the one making the drink. This time my drink was super sweet. I even compared it to my friend's drink which was a regular milk tea with 50% sugar, me and my 4 other friends agree that mine was sweeter. Moreover i waited until all the ice melted, thinking it might make the drink less sweet. Nope, that did not work. It was still very sweet. The worst experience in KFT ever. I've been looking to try this place since it opened and got to it today with my SO. I was pleasantly surprised that they also have Taiwanese style shaved snow ice, a personal favorite of mine! So we got a Thai tea flavored snow ice and a peach oolong tea with herbal jelly for me and taro milk tea with boba balls. First off, the cashier who took our order was rude AF! I looked at him and he stared at me for a few seconds then I said Hi and he stared at me some more. I expected him to ask me for my order but he didn't so I just started ordering, probably the rudest cashier I've ever encountered. Anyways, about the food. The snow ice was pretty good, but not as fluffy as it can be, but solid with strong Thai tea flavor. The peach oolong was WAY too sweet, which is probably my fault because I didn't ask for no sugar, but I personally don't think tea should taste like syrup. SO really liked his taro tea, it tasted like tea which surprised him. Personally not a fan of he layout, everything is way too spread out and it feels like you've entered a warehouse. When I've heard about opening of this place in CS, I was very excited! I love boba tea, and in the past 10 years, I've spent a few thousands on it on 4 continents. But once I managed to visit this place, I was disappointed: Their minimum credit/debit card charge is $8! Who uses cash in 2017? $8 minimum charge for the place that sells drinks priced from $2.75 to about $5 or so, means you'd have to buy 2 or even 3. And "get one drink for the price of 3" would be too weird for a "special". If they (or you, the reader) said "credit card processing fees", they (you) must be stuck in 1994. Were they too lazy to shop around and to get a credit card processor that doesn't charge large fees? E.g. SquareUp charges only 2.75% for any size transaction. That's about a dime from a $3.50-4.00 drink. That's a reasonable price for the convenience of not having to process large quantities cash (which takes time of everybody: customers, employees), and the convenience of not needing to carry the coins (I stopped carrying those about 10 years ago or so, unless I travel to a foreign country... and even there, I prefer using my credit card.) While I was inside, thinking what to order, another customer came and ordered some tea, but was unable for pay for it, as she only had plastic. Having heard that, - I had to leave too: I am not ready to get 3 teas to be able to pay for it... They lost 2 sales about $8 worth but saved some 22 cents. The time will show which of the two new boba-tea places in CS (only a few blocks apart from each other) will survive, if any, but at least you can buy one drink with plastic at the other one... read more

If you've been to other Kung Fu Teas, this one will not disappoint nor blow you out of the water. Yes, the line was ridiculously long but they've just opened - what do you expect? The wait time to get our drinks after ordering was short, similar to other Kung Fu Teas, considering how many people they had waiting. I got the Honey Oolong Milk Tea with Herbal Jelly which was as a lot sweeter than other Kung Fu Teas. Their credit card machine is not functioning for the first two days of the soft opening - per a sign posted, so make sure you bring cash. While KFT has the upper hand in BCS because there are no other boba places in town coming anywhere close to KFT, I hope their quality/taste/service does not decrease over time. Cash only. (At least for the moment) Their Taro MGT tasted different than the one in Houston, definitely more green tea than taro. Their milk tea was pretty sweet (more than usual) The best boba in town compared to the other places which I won't mention. I've gone to Kung Fu a lot (Houston, Austin, Dallas, NY) and have tried a lot. Definitely better than the Dallas one but not the others. It's pretty alright! This place is really busy during the afternoon/evening time. It may be because they recently opened so it may die down. I didn't have trouble finding seats (was with 2 other friends). The place itself is pretty simple and chill. A good place to hang out. Definitely recommend the KF oolong milk tea which is my personal favorite. I'm usually a fan of their taro slushies or their milk teas in general, but I haven't tried a lot of them in this location. I like the consistency and taste of their boba. Can't speak for anything else. I will definitely come back. **EDIT** I came back here two times now and the taste of their drinks/boba is really strange. The oolong tea milk tea was fine and so was the milk tea. Not really great but something is definitely off. I had the Taro slushie and it tasted like butter. I had several friends try mine and they all agreed it tasted like straight up butter. I had this happen to me at the KFT in Arlington. Their quality has definitely dropped since their opening.
