More shifus assist the class sessions where more help is needed. Each week of the month has a different curriculum or focus, so it's variable and not routine. Make-ups are super flexible as well. I can't believe I have wrote a review for this place. My daughter joined about two years ago and she was nervous at first but absolutely loves it. The skills she learns she will have for a life time. The Shifus are all amazing and she has develop a great relationship with each of them. Their camp during the summer is fun and allows for learning different skills that go beyond just Kung fu. we joined this based on friend recommendation even though our kids were going for martial arts at different institute. what we loved here is kids are given proper attention. They are encouraged to practice proper stance and active participation. as compared to other institute kids are more involved and enjoying it, also the physical activity in each session is much more. My daughter has taken an interest in Kung Fu and after researching a couple of schools, we decided to give KFD a try. The trial class was easy to set up and after the class, she wanted to sign up immediately! I liked that after warm-ups, the class was split into smaller groups so the students would have more attention. Shifu Jacob went over all of the information, and we never felt pressured to enroll. This was the very first time my kids experienced martial arts, and we decided to sign them up for a trial class at Kungfu Dragon USA in Pleasanton. Like most kids trying something new, they were a bit shy and hesitant before the class started. But, by the end of that first class, both of them felt completely at ease. They were comfortable with the environment, and also liked instructor Shifu Long and were excited to come back and learn more Kungfu. One of the things that stood out to me the most was how the instructors, especially Shifu Long, paid attention to each child individually. Even though it was a group class, they made sure every child got personal guidance. They watched carefully and helped the kids understand exactly what they needed to improve--whether it was their stance, jumps, kicks, or punches. And the best part was, they did it in a very friendly and encouraging way, which helped build my kids' confidence. Shifu Long has a very calm and kind approach that made my kids feel safe and motivated. He didn't rush through anything and took time to explain even the small details, making sure each child understood. His teaching style is very child-friendly, which made the whole experience fun. You can really tell he has a lot of experience working with kids and knows how to make learning enjoyable for them. Overall, I'm really happy with our first experience. We have been debating between Kungfu and karate for our daughter - not anymore. Shortly after she started her first trial lesson with Shifu Jacob, we know that she was going to choose Kungfu. She has done dancing, gymnastics, and other physical activities, but we have never seen her so attentive and so happy while in a class. We tried 3 kung fu places and even jujitsu and this place is an obvious winner. We like that the shifu actually knows kung fu, each session is 45 mins instead of 30 mins, and it's mixed age. So it means the younger ones can progress based on merits. They also let us have the 2nd trial that I appreciate. Will update more as we take more classes. read more

We met Kungfu Dragon in the Livermore lunar new year showcase and was really amazed by their performance. We immediately took a trial class and my son loved it! The shifus there are very professional and most of them are kungfu masters from shaolin temple where Jet Li grew up. They are also very good with young kids. They have three masters to split the whole class to separate small groups and each kids has plenty amount of attentions. Also, the whole class seems fun and dynamic with lots of things going on. We Kung Fu Dragon USA on Yelp and couldn't be more impressed by Sifu Long and his staff. For the Beginner 1 class, they start out the class by bringing their attendance card to Sifu Long while saying "Ne How Sifu" (How are you teacher?). They then repeat the following phrases: Respect your teacher Respect your parents Always do your best Never say can't Use Kung Fu only for good They do warm up exercises then go through with the correct forms. Sifu Long is very caring and entertaining. He knows how to encourage and keep the students engaged. He uses humor to make his points. On Sundays, there are usually 2-3 other more advance students assisting. The back garage door is opened during class to allow fresh air in. This place is not stuffy or smelly like other similar establishments. On Halloween they hosted a party for all students with games, snacks, and food. They are also performing at the Pleasanton parade in Dec. I would highly recommend checking out Kung Fu Dragon USA if you're looking for a class for your kids. My son started in the Little Dragon class.l in San Ramon. We have been coming to this location while they move the San Ramon location. I cannot recommend this place enough. The Shifus are an answer to my prayers. They have the perfect combination of discipline and grace to keep it fun for the younger kids.
