I'm not sure how I haven't done a review here before!! We've been coming for over a year now. My older son has enjoyed coming so much and now my younger son just started. I can not say enough good things about this place. Sifu Bobby is awesome. The kids respect him so much. The whole family is involved in teaching the classes and they are all amazing. Everyone here has oodles of patience, is kind and great at teaching the kids. I appreciate the discipline and the monthly lessons my boys learn during their karate. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. This amazing school is beyond an exceptional place for kids to be part of. The role models, guidance and expertise from all of the instructors are beyond exceptional and inspirational. The confidence and respect that they teach each individual child is so priceless. We have been going to this school since my kids were five years old and now beyond honored that my daughter had received her first-degree black belt, and my son is working towards his. This school I feel should be a must for all kids. They teach skills that I would never be able to teach my children and I feel beyond blessed to know that the skills they are learning will keep them safe and aware in the future. I wanted a place where my kids can learn the martial arts and to help build up their character. I couldn't ask for more in a program! The instructors truly care about my kids learning and them getting the most out of each class. I appreciate the clean facility and how much they treat us like family! Now I'm proud to have my son train at their school. The quality of the instruction and adaptation of Kajuknebo, jujitsu, and Philippine martial arts makes this one of the best all around styles. The martial artists that train here are some of the top competitors in tournaments in the Bay Area and California. Each of the classes are tailored to the age and skill level of the students. They offer a great kids program starting at 4 years old to Adults of all ages. Class are well balanced and the schedule is flexible so that everyone can attend classes without conflicts. The school has a large clean facility that includes a parent viewing area, mats, punching bags, changing rooms, and bathrooms. All the staff are patient and flexible. They really engage all their students of all skill levels and ages. Focus, respect, perseverance and camaraderie are all emphasized in a fun yet serious environment with each student getting their fair share of personal attention. My special needs son has been going there a couple of years now. I was hesitant after some unsuccessful attempts and unpleasant experiences for both of us at other "typical" recreational team sports leagues, but after a recommendation from a friend we decided to give it a chance and boy are we glad we did. I can't begin to say how impressed I am with Pallen's! I have 4 boys (ages 13-22) and have been trying to get them to join a martial arts group for so long. Finally during COVID. they were all on board with starting. I did my research and wanted to find a school that can teach and challenge the wide age range of my kids who had no martial art experience. Based on research and other referrals I decided to go with Pallen's and am so glad I did. It's a great community/family that not only teaches discipline, defense and technique, but a truly unique, skillful art that my all my boys are super excited about. I check in with all of them often and they continue to enjoy learning more and more from this school- so much so that my oldest will be commuting an hour twice a week to continue going to this specific one. I'm grateful for the teachers/sifu's hearts to teach the kids with such patience and care, but also challenge their body and minds to something new. Best place for my grandkids to learn martial arts, respect, listening skills. They really are enjoying the class while strengthening their muscles and minds. Excellent teachers! I highly recommend Pallen's Martial Arts. My son loves his classes and makes new friends there. He wants to have his martial arts class everyday! Classes are well balanced and the schedule is flexible so you can have makeup classes during the week. The good part is they teach my son discipline and respect. Although my daughter is a student at the San Leandro Pallen's school, we often take her to the Dublin school for competition training. The central theme with Pallens Martial Arts seems to be family. Which makes a ton of sense considering it is a family built and family operated business. Sifu Bobby and his assistant teachers, which include his four children, pay a significant amount to detail when it comes to teaching and training the students. Some small things my wife and I have noticed that stood out to us include all of the teachers remembering each and every students name (and there are a lot of students). They treat those students like they know them on a personal level. It also amazes me that his children are involved at the dojo just about every day. We've been with Pallens for 9 months, time goes fast, and haven't regretted my decision to go with them. Our son has gone from white to orange advanced belt. They interact and play around with him as if they have been friends for a while. Sifu Bobby has even allowed our family, which has been affected by the government shutdown, to pay our tuition at a later time than the due date.
