They put us in the naughty corner, therefore I wrecked the breakfast buffet. Thoroughly recommended.

Good solid home cooked style entrees. The service is good but can get overwelmed during lunch.

We were vacationing in Ludington and decided to have dinner at Old Hamlin Restaurant downtown. The…read moreword "old" definitely matches the style of the restaurant. The interior feels dated, but also warm, welcoming, and homey. It has the charm of a place that has been serving the same homemade recipes for generations, and it truly feels like both the restaurant and the recipes have remained true to their roots since opening day. We were seated quickly, and our waitress, Sydney, greeted us promptly. She was friendly and took the time to tell us about the daily specials and homemade soups. Two of our children ordered the kids' spaghetti, while our other child had the chicken strips and fries. I ordered the Monterey Chicken Sandwich based on Sydney's recommendation, and my husband chose the meatloaf sandwich with a cup of chicken noodle soup. Everything we ordered was good. The kids all enjoyed their meals, and I absolutely loved my sandwich. My husband enjoyed the meatloaf as well, although he mentioned he would probably try something different if we return on a future visit. The homemade pies looked incredible, but we already had dessert plans elsewhere, so we'll have to save those for another time. Overall, while the restaurant's interior may feel a bit dated, the homemade food, reasonable prices, and friendly service made for a very enjoyable meal. If you're looking for a comforting, home-cooked meal while visiting Ludington, Old Hamlin Restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

The ice cream is that good, and the history and story behind the building make this place such a fun stop. It's easily become one of our all-time favorite ice cream shops! I got the Eskimo Kisses and my husband got the Peanut Butter Bull's-Eye, and both were absolutely incredible. The ice cream here is seriously 100 out of 10. I got mine in a waffle cone, and that was probably the only slightly disappointing part. The cones are pretty small, and honestly, it wasn't my favorite waffle cone compared to some others I've had. But the ICE CREAM makes up for it and then some! There is pretty much always a line here, no matter what time of day you go, but they are incredibly efficient. They move people through quickly, so even when the line looks long, you aren't standing around forever. The inside is so cute and quaint, almost like stepping into an old-fashioned diner or soda fountain. It's bright, fun, clean, and has so much character. I'm still kicking myself that I've never actually stopped here for breakfast or lunch because I've heard their food is worth trying too. One of these days! We ordered from the ice cream side, where they have all of the cones and ice cream treats listed. I didn't see milkshakes and some of the other things you might expect at an old-fashioned ice cream shop on that side, although I'm pretty sure you can get more options if you sit down and order from the restaurant side. If you're in Ludington, you absolutely have to stop at House of Flavors. The ice cream is fantastic, the atmosphere is so much fun, and the history makes it even more special. We came back a year later for a reason, and we'll definitely be back again!

The place seemed busy but luckily there was no wait time. There was a lot of vegetarian options and mostly each combination was available as a salad, wrap or a sandwich. I ordered the cranberry chicken wrap . The wrap felt a little dry but the filling was quite good. I also tasted chicken fajita sandwich and it was awesome. This place has started as an ice-cream shop. They hold a lot of records including one in The Guinness Book of World Records and it shows in their elaborate ice-cream selection.we ordered vanilla with butterscotch and raspberry rendezvous and liked both. Prices are reasonable too. Definitely worth a visit when in town. PS : we walked by the restaurant's ice-cream shop side in the evening again and there was a queue extending to over a block :)

But The Alley Bar & Grill was Perfect for what we look for in small town places that don't have bells and whistles but everything else that matters. Great staff interacting with the customers, serving great food and drinks with a welcoming atmosphere. Our server, Sondra, and her fellow "chef" were working hard in the kitchen making the tastiest looking pizzas. It was a challenge to choose our food because we were really hungry. The menu is smaller but everything on it is high quality eats. I had cheese curds and tried the Pollock filet, crinkle cut fries and slaw; my friend had wings with buffalo sauce and the French dip, steak fries and slaw. I asked for another option for dipping and their cocktail sauce with the curds was a great combo. Although the ranch dressing tasted homemade. I'd never had Pollock before and I enjoyed it with malt Vinegar, generous portion lightly breaded and I almost finished before finding a few bones in the meatier part. I know it's expected but I have a quirk when I find a fish bone, I'm done. My friend's French Dip had a generous amount of meat, on a soft hoagie type roll and was "so delicious". This place had just about everything fun to do inside: beer pong, pool, darts, fooseball s as nd even a room/ stage in the back for live entertainment! We had the jukebox this evening, playing good classic rock and when it stopped my friend was going to fill it up with coins and keep it going. But we overheard Sondra encouraging a guy to, "Pick as many as you want to because it's free." Prices were $$ for the quality and portions of food, clean inside and atmosphere. We parked in the street and walked about 300 ft to the door, which has 2 steps to enter. I highly recommend that you go find out what's happening in The Alley, I bet you'll have a great time!
