My two friends told me to try this spot. I made a reservation and I had a party of 5 people. It was busy but not packed when we checked in. We waited a few minutes to be seated. We were seated in the back by the bar and kitchen. Being so close at times it made you cough from the spices. I recommend not sitting there. Our waiter Christian was very nice. Got our drink order right away. I'm not a drinker. They have 3 mocktails. I got the Fizz cuz it has ginger. Loved it. Now the food, I was told the tacos and lobster dumplings were a must. They were good. Dinner we did the Scallops, Short rib, and Hot stone Japanese Wagyu beef. Just hope our food including the appetizers all came out the same time.

We love going to this sushi restaurant! One of my favorite overall sushi places with good quality and flavor! They are a little pricy, but i still recommend trying them at least once. I go back once in a while for a special occasion. The servers and hostesses are all very friendly. There's a lot seating available. It has a subtle, low-lit atmosphere. You have to try their tuna crispy rice and shishito pepper appetizers! We get them every time and they are delicious! The wagyu tacos and lobster dumplings are delicious but not as filling. They run out of their uni often, so if they have any left for the night you definitely need to order some. They are pricy but are delivered fresh. They're always sweet and creamy every time. I love their toro hand roll and scallop hand roll. They have A5 Wagyu beef cooked at the table with a hot stone. It's priced per ounce and the cost can add up quickly, but it's a nice treat to try and share with others. The Chilean sea bass miso was rich and well seasoned. This is the best sushi place I've tried in AC so far!

I've been back a few times since my last visit, so Kuro deserves an upgrade. It's one of the few places to get artistic Japanese food in Atlantic City & I can see why it's USA Today's best hotel restaurant in America. As with most restaurants, some menu items are better than others, and I have a good gauge of what food is worth coming back for now! Hands down it's the Tuna Crispy Rice at $20 for 2 pieces, it's pricy but delicious. The tuna is spicy and topped with a little caviar for the perfect bite of crisped rice & melt in your mouth fish. Next are the Lobster Dumplings at $24 served with squash purse and nori butter. These are so decadent and will make you want to lick the bowl. I also love the Wagyu donburi bowl which is rice topped with braised short rib, onsen tamago, & jus. So rich and satisfying! The scallops $42 and short rib $55 are also very good but are a splurge. If you can get in on Thursday's or Sunday's from 5-6pm, they have a fantastic happy hour. I love that there's tons of variety with their discounted offerings. There are items for non sushi eaters & vegetarians too! I had the spicy Toro tempura roll for $20 and it was my favorite of everything I tried. The salmon crudo $12 was also very tasty with a good amount of salmon roe. The pork katsu sando $12 was pretty good, but it could've used more aioli. The gyudon & unagi don $10 each are both mini rice bowls that were very flavorful with tender pieces of beef (gyudon) or eel. For a drink, I had the Kuro Mule $12 & it was so refreshing & balanced with yuzu and ginger beer. Getting seated took some time despite having a reservation, but overall the service was great and the ambiance is modern & upscale which is perfect for a night out on the town.

Kuro is a place that feels like only visiting on a special occasion, but if you have the opportunity to dine at least once, or even more times, you wont regret it. I have visited a few times and have my favorites on the menu. The wagyu tacos being my all time favorite and steaks skewers right behind it. But this is a Japanese restaurant I need to mention that the star of the menu is the Omakase special platter. Everything is sliced fresh and assembled to perfection with an amazing presentation. Staff is attentive and the place is very well decorated. Inside of the Hard Rock Hotel, this place is one of my favorite sushi places to visit. Did I say that their sushi is one of a kind? That too!

We came here to this very elegant dining space to celebrate bday of my Dad. Staff are very courteous and friendly willing to give recommendations which is helpful for first timers. Although orders take time to arrive we still enjoy this rare opportunity. All ingredients taste superb so fresh and meticulously prepared and cooked to perfection. I especially love the miso cod, ceviche and matcha cake. It would be lovely if serving is a bit more especially when you're with family. Overall, the best thing is my Dad had a blast and that is the best part of our Kuro dining experience.

What a beautiful establishment! My guy friend has been telling me about this place for a while now and decided to treat me here for my birthday yesterday evening. For a Friday night, there wasn't as much foot traffic in the restaurant as I had anticipated and they were pretty flexible about the reservation time. Wish I could remember our servers name but he was cool asf and we really enjoyed his service. I had a generous glass of moscato that actually lasted me the entire night lol it was delicious; very fresh, sweet and crisp. For starters we had the tempura shrimp, brussel sprouts and lobster dumplings... Everything was so yummy; the tempura shrimp was lightly fried and paired well with the sauce, sprouts were hand picked and perfectly coated in balsamic, and for the showstopper--Those lobster dumplings were the BEST dumplings I think I've ever tasted in my life! They were sold out of the whole fish by the end of the night so because the dumplings were so good I actually ended up getting a double portion of those for my entree--From the butternut squash puree and nori butter to the candied pumpkin seeds and l fully stuffed lobster dumplings with no filling...I was in heaven. So happy we chose to come here and the Japanese cheesecake dessert was just the cherry on top of my night. Very airy and light to eat after a filling meal, and it washed down well with the lychee sorbet--Different but an outstanding combination. I went home stuffed and ready for bed LOL thanks Kuro I'm looking forward to returning next time I'm in AC.

Had dinner with friends at Kuro on Saturday. First off great ambience. Didn't feel like we were in a casino restaurant at all. Our server was extremely friendly and fun. The food speaks for itself. Everything we had was absolutely delicious! Probably the best vegetable tempura I've ever had. The ribeye robata skewers insanely flavorful! The ambiance is beautiful! Service was slow - From taking our order / bringing the wine (20 plus minutes from ordering and then wasn't cold which he told us and we still accepted), as well as bringing the check. The food arrived from the kitchen in a timely fashion once ordered. We were lucky to take advantage of the Taste of Kuro menu. We started with the salmon bowl and gyoza. Both were delicious! Really enjoyed the sauces! Then, we had the mushroom donburi and the tempura ebi. My mom loved the donburi and it was a large portion for a tasting menu. Tempera was traditional and good, nothing special. For the entree, we got one of each - ribeye and the seabass. Ribeye was perfect, tender and had a delicious sauce. The accompanying asparagus sauce had an odd taste, but was ok. Sea bass was also cooked to perfection, however the sauce on the accompanying veggies was a tiny bit bitter. Cucumber avocado roll was simple, fresh and delicious. Doughnuts were good - raspberry sauce was amazing.

After losing $75 at the slot machines, we cashed in our moola and decided to have dinner instead. I wanted Japanese and this was a no brainer. Oooh la la...this place is ultra chic and sexy. We had the most adorable, bubbly and attentive waitress. Katrina was such a doll, she exudes happiness and it really made our dining experience that much more special. She came by often to check up on us. We started off with some rolls, Eel Cucumber and Salmon Avocado Maki. I loved it, It was fresh and tasty. Next up was the Mushroom Donburi. Omg, if you are a mushroom lover, get this. We ended our meal with their Ishiyaki Hot Stone. The Wagyu was $35 an ounce and you have to order a minimum of 3. I am not a huge fan of Wagyu. I just wanted to try it on a hot stone style of cooking. It was good but don't think it was worth it. Had we not lost $75 at the casino, I would have gotten dessert.

The food here is absolutely delicious but pricey for not overly large portions, so keep that in mind! I came here with a group of girls, and we ordered family style. The two dishes that stood out to me the most were the short rib and the wagyu ribeye! The short rib fell off apart easily with a fork and had the creamiest sesame sauce that could make anyone cry. It was that good! The wagyu was also well seasoned and paired really nicely with the chimichurri sauce. I can't stop thinking about that short rib though! Lastly, shout out to the hostesses working that night. We had asked one of them to take a picture, which she gladly did, but she also went above and beyond. She surprisingly whipped out a selfie spotlight and used it to make sure we had good lighting for our group picture!

My boyfriend and I m came by on a Thursday night. Located inside Hard Rock Casino, not too hard to find. This place has nice vibes, intimate, with a candle set in the middle of the dinner table. There weren't a lot of tables occupied and that made it really cozy. They have happy hour Sunday and Thursdays. We ordered a couple of drinks, and the Japanese cheesecake from the HH menu. We ordered the midori sour, shoga, and the soju mojito. I liked the shoga the best. I feel like I didn't taste the alcohol at all... so it just tasted like a variation of soda! I tried the other 2, and I wasn't too much of a fan. Per recommendations from our waitress, we ordered the lobster dumplings (YUM!), beef negima skewers, pork belly (must try!) wagyu donburi. The donburi was mostly a filler, for trying out the other food. She also recommended the surf and turf, which, I'm glad we didn't get because this amount of food was perfect for two along with the cheesecake. The beef negima was meh, it's crunchy on the outside but the flavor was a miss for me afterwards. The pork belly and the lobster dumplings were a MUST try! We loved both, too bad the portion size wasn't bigger. The Japanese cheesecake was okay, we liked the sorbet and the sides more. The fruits, the almond and the white chocolate gave the dessert a nice finish. The bathrooms are shared with the restaurant next door. There's mouth wash and lotion inside too, if you want to freshen up.

Kuro on the boardwalk was amazing. We went with the family and everyone enjoyed their meals. It offered a little bit of a flavor difference from the Kuro in Hollywood. Again I ordered about on of every vegetarian and vegan item they offer. For comparison, the edamame are a bit spicier and have a different flavor. The brussels sprouts were spot on and the rolls are always fresh. The ambiance is comfortable yet elegant, the surroundings of the restaurant or nice decorated and elevated a bit also casino floor. Just outside of the restaurant you find our way perfect spot to go straight into the entertainment and excitement. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Our orders came out in a timely manner and was very fresh. It was a very good visit and a very good evening.

Very delicious the prefix menu offers a great variety of the restaurant. Try the scallops the Uzi gel packs a punch that explodes in your mouth and quenches. We were in NJ for business and decided to try Kuro. What a wonderful experience! We opted for the tasting menu that our server Austin put together for us. He asked about allergies, likes, dislikes etc...We never would have been able to put together such a great menu. The crispy rice were excellent along with the yellow tail with jalapeno, oysters, wagyu beef, I honestly don't know which dish I liked best. Austins assistant Juan did a wonderful job along with the GM Matt who also came over to ask us how we were doing. The service was so professional I felt like a celebrity! This was one of the best dining experiences for such reasonable price that we have ever had. Totally recommend this restaurant. The Menu Mapping is a great way to experience an assorted array of various plates. The cocktails were delicious and the service was outstanding. Me and my husband sat at the bar at Kuro and had dinner last night. The bartender Lenny was amazing! Stopped in for a quick bite early Saturday evening, sat immediately at bar in back adjacent to kitchen. SO glad we did! Ryan and Alex took GREAT care of us! Perfect recommendations from menu. Wagyu tacos, crispy tuna and tempura scallop all perfectly DELICIOUS bites. Could have eaten about 20 of those beef tacos. Small but very flavorful. We managed to get there at the right time on a Saturday night, right before the 'dinner before the show' crowd swamped the place. We asked to sit at the bar - I highly recommend everyone do this! The bar is only 4 seats, situated almost in the kitchen and it truly feels like a VIP chef's table experience! Leonard, the head bartender, and Alexis engaged us in conversation the entire time and did an excellent job of giving us a personalized and unique experience! We began with cocktails (the Kyu and San are GREAT!) then allowed Leonard to menu match us- another great choice as he planned and selected the menu items we should try (and in what order) to get the full and rewarding menu experience. We were only there for a drink and quick bite but ended up with this as our dinner because everything was so amazing tasting! I'd never tried most of the food before, being a picky eater this was my first time going near sushi, and was blown away by how good everything was. The only thing I didn't finish was my corn fritter type thing because I really don't like corn, but I still ate 1/2 before giving it to my bf (who thought it was amazing). The tacos alone will have me coming back! The prices are steep, so this may be a once a year experience, but I definitely would do the bar seats with menu match again! I think we got a much better experience than merely sitting in the dining room would have given us. I felt like a high-roller (although a bit underdressed in my flip flops) the entire time we were there and can't stop raving to everyone how about how great of an experience I had at Kuro. read more

This was probably the worst dining experience that I ever had. All seemed great at the start, waiter sort I'd seemed knowledgeable....too our order which consisted of a freeware appetizers and sushi foe our main meal. Drinks came out and the pour of wine was embarrassing...not sure if they finished a bottle and chose not to open another one. Water never came....had to ask and then to get a refill we waited and waited until finally we went over to the water station to fill ourselves. It seemed our waiter and our table fell into a BLACK HOLE! We waited for sushi to come out for over 50 minutes....waiter never coming over....got manager who offered a free cocktail...we said JUST GET OUR SUSHI OUT! Still 15 minutes later, no sushi, we asked for the check and as we were paying, some other person came out with a bowl of sushi and said it was in the house! It was a little too late, already close to 11pm, we were so aggravated we had NO APPITITE, we declined the food AND LEFT! NEVER AGAIN! With the Hard Rock just opening a few weeks back I wasn't sure what to expect when our friends made reservations for us there as there were no reviews posted yet. Japanese fine dining is how they'd describe it and I'm inclined to agree. We did the chef's tasting which isn't really a set price thing, ends up being based on what you order but it's very reasonable. They quoted us $60-70 each up front and it came out cheaper than that. We had 1 bottle of wine, 2 cocktails and enough food that we were beyond stuffed. The bill was just about $300 total for the 4 of us. Tell me where you can eat fine dining in a casino with wine and cocktails for that price? If you know where it is that reasonable and it's that good I'll travel there! We had lots of different things and I can't remember it all but some that I can remember is a tuna tartare on these carmelized sticky rice beds, some sashimi and rolls with a bunch of different types of fish, a halibut dish that was poached in a bag with mushrooms on top, some sort of of noodle dish, there was charred brussels (they did them broken up as separate leaves not whole sprouts so they were perfectly crispy), a few other things and some sort of dessert. . I don't understand why people complained about the food . Hello any restaurant have few bad days when was just open at the Hard Rock / Takes time to train the new staff and get everything running in the kitchen like it should ! With that said . I had a fantastic meal at Kuro . Omg the sea bass was to die for and every dish that was ordered and served to us was superb! Sushi / nailed , steak , the flavors were incredible . I'll visit again soon because the good was delicious And the service was great ! Sat at the bar and the bartenders Alex and Emily were amazing! Everyone was super nice and I really enjoyed how all the staff were very friendly with each other and it made it a very comfortable environment to have a couple drinks and some food in. Sushi menu is weak. No special rolls. Sushi is small and bland. Cooked food is good but portions are small. Only one entree is a good size to fill one person. Food service is horrendous. Sushi entrees came 40 minutes after cooked entrees. Half my family ate while the others watched and vice versa. Although cooked food was good, it was overpriced and service needs help. Menu needs a makeover as well. Maybe good for a couple, definitely not a first date or a group. read more

Our first time at Kuro and it was amazing!!!the apps were fabulous. We got the tuna roll which was so so fresh. The shrimp and beef negemi was out of this world. They brought us spicy tuna with crispy rice on the house and was so fabulous. My husband an myself both had the halibut for entrees and it was out of this world. Our waiter Cullen was top notch. We had a great time at Kuro last night with an awesome waitress, Tracy. The restaurant is small plates and there wasn't a dish we didn't like. Our favorites were the tenderloin, soft shell crab, tuna crispy rice, and the beef Negima. All of their tempura is also very good. Their beef dishes were superb and melted in your mouth. Don't skip on the chocolate dish for dessert. Would go back in a heartbeat. We thought it was much better than Sampan which also does small dishes in Philly. read more

Antonio clocked in about halfway through my meal and was a breath of fresh air. He was friendly, attentive, and completely changed the tone of the experience. Overall, it was a good visit with decent food and great service from Antonio. Unfortunately, my first interaction with Domingo left a poor impression and took away from what otherwise would have been a positive experience.

With happy hour every day from 4-7, it is one of the most generous in Atlantic City (where most aren't offered on weekends or past six pm). This is the central joke of the The Wine Bar and Italian Kitchen, which sits like a well dressed guest who has wandered into the wrong party and decided to stay anyway. It lives inside The Food Hall at The Borgata, elevated just enough to suggest importance, but not quite enough to escape the gravitational pull of the surrounding chaos. The ambiance is odd. Not necessarily bad mind you, just...existential. You sip wine while someone nearby debates chicken tenders. It keeps you humble. And yet, the food. The food is very good. Complimentary bread arrived with olive oils and olives, which felt like a small act of kindness in a noisy universe. My wife and I began with a meatball appetizer special, a wise decision that rewarded us immediately. Six petite, tender and rich meatballs, the kind that makes you briefly forgive the invention of fast casual dining. I had the lasagna, layered and comforting, like a well organized memory. She had the chicken parmigiana, which achieved that rare balance of crisp and tender, as if someone in the kitchen still actually cared about cause and effect. Both dishes were executed with confidence, the kind that suggests this kitchen knows exactly what it is doing, even if the room around it is having an identity crisis. The wine was not bad. Not transcendent, not life altering, but entirely capable of doing its job, which is to make you slightly more agreeable to everything. Service was also very good. Attentive without hovering, present without becoming a character in the story. Four stars, because the food and service deserve applause, but the setting feels like dining inside a thought that has not quite been finished. Still, if you find yourself at The Borgata and hungry for an Italian meal that rises above its surroundings, this is a very good place to sit, eat, and wonder how you got there.

But it can get crowded. They offered bread with olive oil and olives. We ordered a sangria which was very sweet. They filled our water glasses but didn't check on it for the rest of the night. We ordered lamb chop and ossobuco. The lamb chop was seared perfectly and medium rare. The potatoes were well seasoned and crispy. I liked the broccoli rabe too. The ossobuco was tender and the bone marrow was buttery. The risotto was ok but I didn't like the texture. The sangria was sweet. Overall the food was good.

One of the best dining experiences my husband and I has ever had !! This past Sunday Rodger and I came into the restaurant celebrating our 20th anniversary, our server Joshua W offered us something called a "menu map" where he asked us 5 different questions from our likes and dislikes and then him and the chef created a menu for us ! We were very skeptical at first but gave it a shot . From the first course of the Brussel sprouts to the last course of the short rib and desert everything was AMAZING !! He even asked us kindly if we were willing to try raw seafood for the first time ( I never have but my husband had a bad experience at a chain restaurant once before ) but we did anyway ; the seared salmon was so fresh and delicious !! We ordered the Japanese doughnuts and as Joshua brought them out he added an ice cream with a Candle and wished us a Happy Anniversary . He made us feel very welcomed and right at home..The food ,atmosphere and knowledge of all of the staff was one of a kind . We will definitely be back very soon to try some new things ! read more

My recent visit to Kuro in Atlantic City was nothing short of spectacular! The food was exceptional, with highlights including the crispy rice topped with caviar, the salmon avocado roll, and the white fish tempura. Each dish was bursting with unique flavors that delighted our taste buds. We sat at the bar and what truly made our evening unforgettable was Alex. He was super attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. Alex took the time to explain the unique flavors in each dish, enhancing our appreciation for the food even more. To top it off, Alex introduced us to some amazing cocktails he's crafting for the restaurant. Of course, we had to try a couple, and they were all delicious! Had the pleasure of dining here on Monday 2/18/19. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Starting with the hostess, Jaylene...she was pleasant and accommodating. Moments after being seated, I was greeted so kindly by Joseph, my server. Joseph was knowledgeable of everything on the menu, he asked me questions about my preferences of taste and led me to ordering the pre-fix menu that is served on Sundays and Mondays for only $35! Joseph was very attentive and made the perfect choices for me! He made my dining experience so pleasurable! One of the best Restaurants in AC! Service is impeccable as is Staff menu knowledge. From the time you are greeted by the friendly professional Host to the time you leave is an unforgettable experience. And stop by their bar next to the amazing sushi bar and have an intelligent conversation with Alex the Bartender. He will explain in detail the age of your Sushi Scallop and clean the shell for you if you would like to take it home and spread the knowledge! Great restaurant! Excellent food and beautiful cocktails. I love the shishito bonito appetizer and all the robata (grilled skewered meats) try the Waygu on the hot stone for the full experience! They also have the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. Ask for Simei, she's a great server and she knows the menu inside and out. She sent out some things we would not have normally tried like the Sesame panna cotta dessert and she just made our dinner very special. I love Kuro! read more
