    Oysters on the 1/2 Shell

This place is incredible, if your a seafood eater it's a must try. Everything was cooked great had great flavor and was just hands down amazing. The atmosphere is really nice it reminds me of a cruise ship. They have a huge bar and the restaurant is huge. First we started off with the oysters and they were amazing I love raw oysters and these were super fresh. Then we got the Clams Casino and they were one of the best Iv ever had, the flavor was on point the peppers were perfect and has lots of flavor, the bacon was cooked great as well. The clam itself was perfect not chewy at all just a great choice. The Grilled octopus was very good. Super tender great flavor and the beans are a great touch gives it another burst of flavor that just works and tastes great. We then shared the docks seafood fry and yes that picture is a shared portion of it which is a lot of food and let me tell you that was AMAZING. First off the tartar sauce was one of the best Iv ever had it's got a dill pickle flavor that I absolutely loved. The shrimp was breaded and cooked perfectly as well as the piece of fish and they had soo much flavor. The crab cake was perfect as well I love crab cake and this one is up there with one of the best iv ever had. The service was great there are a ton of servers and they constantly check up on you and the food and I love that. All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely be coming back when visiting Atlantic City.

Made reservations for dinner before a show. We were seated immediately and greeted by Shannon our server. Started off with fried calamari, tuna tartare, and a 1/2 dozen Blue Point oysters. The food came out quick. The calamari was crispy and salted perfectly. The tuna was fresh and the oysters were excellent. For dinner we ordered the Tuna and the lobster roll. The tuna was prepared raw and melted in your mouth, and the lobster roll was just the right portion with a buttered roll and crispy fries. Our service and food were excellent!. The parking on the side of the restaurant was terrific. Can't wait to come back for happy hour!

Definitely have a reservation if you're planning to come to this spot. We had a late dinner reservation and pretty much every seat in the house was full. We started with the fish dip and appetizer sampler. Then we had the clam and corn/crab chowders followed by the fish of the day and crab cakes. The main entrees were a little disappointing but the standouts were the corn/crab chowders followed and the fish dip.

"A Touch Of Class !" Dock's Oyster House in Atlantic City is a must try for seafood lovers who find themselves in AC for a little spring/summer fun. The atmosphere is extremely classy and bubbling with activity throughout the establishment. Once you enter Dock's there's no question you instantly understand the rich tradition that makes this restaurant a class above the rest. I wanted something that was fitting for true celebration of parenthood as a father. I ordered the 2oz stuffed lobster tail and the corn & crab soup. The lobster was absolutely amazing... juicy, and stuffed with seasoned crab imperial. The corn and crab soup was hot and served as a great kick start to an awesome solo date. Dock's oyster selection was amazing and left me thinking about grabbing another dozen of the meaty, sweet-salty oysters I tried.Im planning another trip to AC at the beginning of August, and it's no question I'll be reserving a table at Dock's Oyster House the first night I'm there !!!

We made our annual trip to the best restaurant in AC and we're not disappointed. Everything was fantastic-wait time less than 5 minutes, service was excellent our waitress Julia was attentive and helpful with recommendations and explanations. We were never rushed as our family group spent over 2 1/2 hrs chatting. Drinks were delicious and well prepared. Food was fantastic- raw oysters, beet salad, Alaskan halibut, flounder and blackened red snapper. We even had a table tucked in the corner as requested so we could all hear better. Love this place.

Came here for dinner while here for a conference. Sat down and served water and ordered drinks. Rolls with butter served. Ordered shrimp cocktail and fried calamari as an appetizer. Very good. Ceaser salad , manhattan clam chowder, con chowder and main clam chowder all served. Everyone liked their soups with real clams served. Our entrees which took a very long time to come were all very good. Fried seafood platter, salmon special, stuffed flounder and soft shell crabs. Dessert was the banana cream pie which is always great. Ambiance was very nice. Will be back next year.

Stopped in for happy hour which started at 4pm! A line was already forming at 330, it was insane how many people filled up so quickly ! We sat at the bar of course , they took our drink order and eventually came for our food order. We basically ordered everything on the happy hour menu to try , I mean it all sounded so delicious might as well! The corn and crab soup wasn't exactly that good , it was a little cold when it came to me which was a bit disappointing. The fried oysters and mac cheese were very good! They did forget to bring out my calamari which was the main thing Jew as looking forward to . Sucks it came out at the end where I got full and couldn't enjoy it as well.

    Maine Clam Chowder

Dock's Oyster House, a stalwart since 1897, still whispers old Atlantic City as you step inside -- piano and raw bar upon entry, woods and ornateness, and a merman sign glowing under warm light, evoking salty tales of the sea. The seafood tower arrived regal on crushed ice: briny oysters, plump shrimp, sweet clams, cracked lobster, and a zesty ceviche crown. Fresh lobster gleamed crimson perfection. Branzino, crisp-skinned and lemon-kissed, nestled on quinoa beside vibrant greens. Yet the true revelation was the Maine clam chowder--clams proudly in shell, broth cream-tinged yet restrained, never heavy, a harmonious dance of ocean and shellfish. A dessert I'll forever remember - Joe's Cheese Pie. Decadent and delightful. Service, merely adequate, tempered the joy. Still, Dock's delivers timeless delight for the discerning palate.

We came for the happy hour madness and had a pleasant time. Amazing customer service. Good food and this place is booming. Our only complaint is the couple hawking for our table kept trying to force conversation and was standing oddly close the ENTIRE time. We ordered the following: Crab corn chowder: 10/10 incredible! Oysters Rockefeller: 7/10 overcooked Champagne oysters: 7/10 pretty good. Different taste for sure. Buffalo oyster: 8/10 creative and good Parmesan oysters: 9/10 my favorite oyster Buffalo cauliflower: 10/10 I love a good cauliflower Smoked fish dip: 6/10 pass. I don't like it cold, didn't get to warm it up at home. Clams casino: 8/10 very good Fried calamari: 7.5/10 super light/no crisp. Fresh. Mini crab cakes: 6/10 decent but could've not ordered Lobster Mac n cheese: 4/10 lobster was good, Mac and cheese part was missing the cheese.

Amazing dinner! Everything we had was fantastic and our favorite was the soft shell crab. It was plump, fresh and cooked to perfection. Everything else was a close second from the fresh oysters, corn and crab chowder, appetizer sampler and the scallop ceviche. What made the meal was the service provided by Paz and the crew! Paz was exceptional in his recommendations and they even split our dishes for two from the chowder to our soft shell crab entree. We will be back to try other items on the menu!

Stopped at Docks on a Sunday for happy hour before heading home from the beach and so glad we did! The happy hour menu is great. The food was amazing and perfect sharing size for 2-3 people. The meatballs and crab cakes were so good and would go again just for those. We also got the Caesar and house salad, mussels, and hummus. There was live music which was a nice touch. It was packed and we got the last few seats at the bar, so plan for that. The valet parking was a nice touch! Staff was super friendly as well and made the experience even better.

    Genesis S.

If I could go to Docks everyday I would. Truly an Atlantic City staple but also such an amazing dining experience overall. The bartenders are the best and their food is phenomenal. Could not recommend this place enough.

How much are drinks happy hour And appetizers?

There are no special prices for drinks during happy hour but appetizers are are a real bargain. They are listed on the menu

Is it hard to get a reservation?

Yes very hard. If you don't mind eating at the bar you can usually get a seat if it's NOT Happy Hour which is 4-6. They have great happy hour deals but the bar gets pretty crowded. Go early

    Can men wear shorts?

Sure, as long as they aren't basketball/gym shorts or look tattered.

    Any dress code?

No dress code that I have noticed. The crowd generally trends towards the nicer end of casual though.

Is it ok to book reservations on line. Or call and make reservations?

I think they use resy for online stuff. Or just call them they are very helpful.

Is the happy hour menu at the bar only?

Yes happy hour is only at the bar and high top tables next to bar. I would get there 30 min ahead of time and wait in line outside to get in. Once the bar is filled you have to wait

Do you gyuys have outdoor dining area? Also is service dog allowed?

    Happy hour for everyday?

    Yes every day.

What is the best mild white fish on the menu right now?

    Flounder!

    When is happy hour?

Hi Marlena, We have happy hour every day of the week from 4-6pm!…

    Do you have outside seating?

We do not have outside seating right now.

Do you need reservations on a Monday?

Hi Marlena, Reservations are not required, but they are definitely recommended, even on a Monday!

Hi Natasha, We are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.…

    Is happy hour still available?

    NOT during COVID-19 :(

Do you prefer upstairs or downstairs?

    Downstairs

Are they still doing happy hour?

Don't think so. Bar not open. Outdoor dining only under tent. We were just there on Friday at 4pm. No happy hour specials were mentioned

    $1 oysters at the bar

    Is Happy hour everyday?

Yes 4-6! There will be a line waiting to get in at 4

Are there deals on raw bar/snacks for Happy Hour?

yes! the happy hour is only in the bar section but it has 1.25 cooked oysters, and i believe 1.00 oysters, and a shrimp cocktail. there is a whole menu of food just for the bar section for happy hour. i posted a photo with the most recent happy hour…

PRIDE, PORK CHOPS & PURE JOY AT BYRDCAGE ATLANTIC CITY…read more Atlantic City was absolutely glowing this weekend during the Atlantic City Great Pride Festival at O'Donnell Park near Stockton University. More than 1,000 people were expected to attend, and the energy was incredible--music, dancing, laughter, and love everywhere you looked. Just two short blocks from the festival at 3426 Atlantic Avenue sits one of Atlantic City's true gems: Byrdcage Atlantic City. I stopped in throughout the day to cool off, enjoy some mimosas and other refreshing low-alcohol beverages, hydrate, and eventually have dinner. From the moment I walked in, I immediately got why this place has such a loyal following. First, the cleanliness deserves its own paragraph. I have visited restaurants all over the country, and I honestly don't remember seeing an establishment this spotless. The interior and exterior were immaculate. Not a spot of dust. Even during one of the busiest days of the year, the restrooms remained roomy, pristine, and exceptionally clean. The atmosphere is equally impressive. The décor is whimsical, fun, and carefully curated with fascinating photos and memorabilia everywhere you look. Outside, colorful murals create the perfect backdrop for photos and add even more personality to an already vibrant space. And then there was dinner. My server, Isabella, was friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. She even arranged for a dinner entrée to be served before dinner service had officially begun, and I was so grateful she did. I ordered the Seoul Mate Sizzle Pork Chop Platter, and wow. A beautifully grilled bone-in pork chop glazed in a sweet and savory sauce and served over fresh pineapple salsa, alongside creamy herb rice and perfectly cooked vegetables including broccoli, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and carrots. The pork chop was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the pineapple salsa took it to another level. It was one of those meals where you intentionally slow down because you don't want it to end. And the music? The music made me dance almost all day and well into the night. There was something happening everywhere--at the Pride Festival, downstairs, and upstairs on the dance floor. The DJs absolutely nailed it. Great music, great energy, and great people. I honestly lost track of time because I was having so much fun. Management was everywhere--engaged, attentive, and laser-focused on every detail of the operation. The entire team worked together seamlessly to create something special. More than anything, Byrdcage felt like what every establishment should aspire to be: a safe space filled with kindness, inclusion, acceptance, and pure joy. It was family-friendly, welcoming to everyone, and simply fun. I even bought a Byrdcage shirt at the festival because this is exactly the kind of local business I enjoy supporting. If you're visiting Atlantic City, don't just come for the casinos. Come for experiences like this. Come for the people. Come for the music. Come hungry. Come ready to dance. And absolutely make time for Byrdcage Atlantic City. I'll be back. #ByrdcageAtlanticCity #AtlanticCity #AtlanticCityNJ #AtlanticCityPride #GreatPrideFestival #Pride #LGBTQIA #LoveIsLove #InclusiveSpaces #SafeSpace #YelpElite #Foodie #PorkChopPerfection #Mimosas #DanceAllDay #DanceAllNight #SupportLocal #FamilyFriendly #RestaurantReview #AtlanticCityEats #VisitAtlanticCity #JerseyShore #StocktonUniversity #ODonnellPark #OrangeLoop #EatLocal #ACNJ #PrideCelebration #GoodVibesOnly #PureJoy #AtlanticCityBoardwalk #BeachVibes

The duck was very tender and the cheese curds with the fries was perfect. Service was good and the food was fantastic. Such a great ending to a perfect night!

I'll play first and eat later. Come back perfectly on time and what do I see? Couple that was still in the line when I made my reservation before them - was getting seated. And we had to wait another 10 minutes for the next table. After that it takes 19 minutes, yes I timed it, before server shows up at our table for the first time. I would have expected appetizers to be served at that duration. Later, I timed same thing for the neighboring table, still 14 minutes. I understand about being understaffed and overbooked. But in this case manager was present at the front and had not 2 but 3 greeter girls available. Why one or 2 of them did not convert to wait stuff? R just close half the tables. But no, we will keep running with a reduced service available. Guess what do I see next? Another busy server working exactly half the tables in my proximity who refuses to even stop by for a second. Nope, they each have their own tables and do not share tips - so he has absolutely no interest in helping those that are half a step away. And this is my favorite moment of the visit. By the 19 minute mark we both had made complete food decisions and were ready to go for beef Wellington. However, we learned from another visitor that dish is not cooked to order, but it's a conveyor. You might get that perfect serving or you might get completely cold undercooked meal that waited 30 minutes for you. Just get a steak, and order a custom readiness level: this way one will have to be next to it most of the cooking time. So, we get couple burgers with truffle fries and calamari. I'm looking for the menu section for English ale, and the only choice is Guinness. This is the moment where we should have left, but there would be not enough time to eat somewhere else decent. Calamari is ok, only ok. I was expecting something much better. I can easily take you to 3 places in central NJ that will give you best calamari of your life. Drinks came after app. So, even bartender is busy???? The truffle fries is the only start I'm giving this place in my review. But I guess that they come pre-seasoned in a frozen package, so it's hard to mess them up. Burger had a really good idea of combining pulled meat with your typical hamburger, and it would have been great it patty was cooked to order. I think mine was seating in a warm drawer for ages and then microwaved. Just good enough to eat. Overall this is the worst Gordon experience I've had, hint: try fish and chips place in Vegas. I will not be coming back even if some else is paying. Gordon, I would love to make you the best burger I can at home, then serve you some of the best ale and scotch money can get, and then we can drive to AC and shake up this place. PS. Manager was made aware of all troubles we had and yet did not made any attempt to play bullet out of you-know-what by offering round of drinks or cutting the bill in half. PPS. I run out of Guinness and server was never around to order a replacement. This alone cuts the tip in half in my books.
