The same owners of Knife and Fork and it shows! Such amazing seafood and I got to try a bunch of new things! The place was beautiful but it does get crazy right at open for happy hour at the bar so make sure youre there early if you want that. There's literally a line waiting... We started off with the Shrimp Ceviche. It was super flavorful and tasted very fresh. Then we got the Grilled Octopus and it was FABULOUS! The flavor just encased your mouth when you take a bite. Its not overly chewy and the beans underneath made a great addition to each bite you took. I had NEVER tried oysters before and I finally mustered up the courage and tried one and im glad i did. It was delicious and im so glad they allow you to try just one so you don't waste money if its not your thing. The server was so nice to offer because I told her id never tried one. After that we tried the Maine and Manhattan Chowders. Both were super yummy and had a great taste and a good amount of clams.... another thing I had never tried before... WORTH IT. Then came the main course. I got the Flounder and Crab while my boyfriend got the Brazino. Both were so delicious and so light and yummy. Happy Hour Review Preface: My wife and I were visiting AC to celebrate her birthday. As frequent visitors to AC, I'm a bit embarrassed that we've never been before but here we are. Before I get into the details, I'll simply say this place is SPECTACULAR!!! I was thoroughly impressed by the ambience, food, relative affordability (for seafood), and customer service. Additionally, we were so impressed that we came back the next day for another Happy Hour! This will be a long winded review because Dock's deserves the accolades and future potential diners! Oyster on the Half Shell ($1.50 each): Incredible, clean tasting oysters. I prefer a brinier oyster but I can't ignore the quality and freshness.. It was served with lemon, horseradish, and a homemade vinegar mixture. I asked for tabasco on the side. As mentioned earlier, I do prefer a brinier oyster but these oysters were a clean palate for you to customize as you please. Regardless of your oyster preference, order a few to start off your experience. Broiled Oysters ($1.75 each): There were two options: Rockefeller or Champagne Leak. We only ordered 2 (Champagne Leak) because we wanted to explore more of the Happy Hour Menu. The broiled oysters were presented on the half shell with what looked like a creamy leek infused sauce. Beautiful flavor! Fried Oysters ($1.75 each): They offered 4 different types: plain, buffalo, parmesan, and wasabi encrusted. I loved them all. We ordered 2 of each and it was served with tartar sauce. All 4 offered different flavor profiles. The Plain sounds boring but it's the perfect vessel for you to dress it as you please. The Parm was one of my favorite bites here. It was breaded, fried, and topped off with cheese and red sauce. It was fabulous. I can't give an honest review of the Wasabi and Buffalo fried oyster as my palate was bombarded with multiple plates, condiments, and drinks at the same time. Fried Calamari ($7.25): Simple, fresh, delicious. Although fried, it didn't come out greasy. Simple breading or flour dusted and fried served with lemon and cocktail sauce. No curve balls with this fried calamari. Lobster Mac and Cheese ($11): Beautifully presented Mac and Cheese served on top of a half split lobster. Great traditional casserole style Mac and Cheese (in taste, not presentation). Bits of lobster incorporated as well. It's a nice change of pace from oysters galore.I understand it's lobster but for the most expensive item on the Happy Hour Menu, I expected a little bit more meat. Tuna Tacos ($7.75): Star of the Show! Raw tuna chunks are diced and served in crispy wonton tacos. The crispy wonton had an incredible crunch. Wonderful upfront flavor but it doesn't stop there. There are back notes of something I can't pinpoint...a touch of wasabi and/or sesame oil??? I honestly can't tell you but it brings such a complexity to the dish. This is a must order. Even if you don't like raw fish, please do yourself a favor and try it! My favorite bite of 2026!! Ambience: old school but upgraded and grand design. Beautifully stocked upstairs and downstairs bar. The pianist played classic music. Customer Service: although we weren't seated. The bartender accommodated us to stand on the side of the bar, he told us it was against policy to serve food to standing customers (understandable) but he obliged. The bartender's name was Joe. Excellent bartender/server. Overall: we were so impressed we told ourselves that we had to come back the next day and we did. Day 2 food reviews below. TOTAL: $141.58 + $30 tip, 4 alcoholic drinks ordered. Day 2 Food Review House made Meatballs ($6.25): Great choice if you want to switch up away from seafood. Great presentation with 3 meatballs drenched in red sauce and topped with a Parmesan crisp. Overall it was tasty but I prefer a slightly sweeter red sauce. Deviled Eggs ($6.25): The Deviled Eggs here are topped off with a fried oyster. I'm a huge texture guy and traditionally deviled eggs are a mushy hot mess but here the crispy fried oyster is the perfect contrast. Served with a honey drizzle. Will order again! Clams Casino ($6.50): Clams topped off with charred red and green bell peppers and bacon. Aesthetically beautiful and colorful. More importantly, it was delicious. Notes of bacon are felt but surprisingly the charred peppers come through with a slight sweet profile. Mini Crab Cakes ($7.75): Traditional crab cake with a red pepper sauce. Good serving size, good amount of crab, and very little filler inside. No frills, must order. Steam Mussels Marinara ($8.75): Mussels served over a red sauce. Served with garlic bread on the side. The garlic bread was the unsung hero of this dish. Great garlic and butter flavor. The bread stands tall against the flavorful mussels and red sauce. The atmosphere is really nice it reminds me of a cruise ship. They have a huge bar and the restaurant is huge. First we started off with the oysters and they were amazing I love raw oysters and these were super fresh. Then we got the Clams Casino and they were one of the best Iv ever had, the flavor was on point the peppers were perfect and has lots of flavor, the bacon was cooked great as well. The clam itself was perfect not chewy at all just a great choice. The Grilled octopus was very good. Super tender great flavor and the beans are a great touch gives it another burst of flavor that just works and tastes great. We then shared the docks seafood fry and yes that picture is a shared portion of it which is a lot of food and let me tell you that was AMAZING. First off the tartar sauce was one of the best Iv ever had it's got a dill pickle flavor that I absolutely loved. The shrimp was breaded and cooked perfectly as well as the piece of fish and they had soo much flavor. The crab cake was perfect as well I love crab cake and this one is up there with one of the best iv ever had. Made reservations for dinner before a show. We were seated immediately and greeted by Shannon our server. Started off with fried calamari, tuna tartare, and a 1/2 dozen Blue Point oysters. The food came out quick. The calamari was crispy and salted perfectly. The tuna was fresh and the oysters were excellent. For dinner we ordered the Tuna and the lobster roll. We made our annual trip to the best restaurant in AC and we're not disappointed. Everything was fantastic-wait time less than 5 minutes, service was excellent our waitress Julia was attentive and helpful with recommendations and explanations. We were never rushed as our family group spent over 2 1/2 hrs chatting. Drinks were delicious and well prepared. We sat at the bar of course , they took our drink order and eventually came for our food order. Stopped at Docks on a Sunday for happy hour before heading home from the beach and so glad we did! The happy hour menu is great. The food was amazing and perfect sharing size for 2-3 people. The meatballs and crab cakes were so good and would go again just for those. We also got the Caesar and house salad, mussels, and hummus. There was live music which was a nice touch. If you want good seafood while in Atlantic city or in the South Jersey area, this is the place! They have amazing and fresh seafood dishes here. They're open for lunch and dinner, but we always go for their happy hour! They have one of the best happy hours we've eaten at! They can get really busy and people tend to line up anywhere from 30-60 minutes before opening up depending on the weather, season and day. Happy hour is first come first serve seating by the bar area. They offer free valet parking there. There is street parking, but it's limited. The servers were really kind and patient, and made sure our groups were comfortable and accommodated! They decorate a little bit during the holidays which made my dinner date with my wife romantic. They have a nice selection of cocktails and beverages. Alcoholic beverages aren't on the happy hour specials menu, but they are all delicious and pair well with the dishes. We always order their oysters on the half shell. Always fresh and juicy. You have to try the champagne leek broiled oysters! We get them every time! The clams casino, tuna tacos and steam mussels were good and flavorful. They have other tasty dishes on their entree menu you can order depending on what you're in the mood for. I had high expectations for this place but was disappointed with the service. Our server was good however the whole service was a mess. When they brought out the appetizers we had ordered oysters, the food runner did not tell us which oysters was what. He just left our apps on the table and left. We overlooked that seemed like he was busy and maybe forgot. Not even half way through our appetizers our entree came out. We were very confused because it's not like we were half way through our apps, we just took like 2 bits. Once we finished the appetizers they did not clean off our table, they just brought out the entree. Once the manager checked in with our table we told her the situation, she did apologize and comp us our dessert. That was nice but the overall experience was ruined. As for the food. I wanna say it was good not great. The fried oysters was nothing special, I got both buffalo and wasabi, if I had to choose the wasabi had more flavor than the buffalo. The scallops ceviche was flavorless but they did use nice chunks of scallops. My salmon entree was tasty however I found the salmon to be overcooked, it's probably because they took back our entree and left it under a heat lamp. Suffice to say I have mixed feelings about this place and that's why I'm giving this place a 3 star rating. If they work out their service issues this could be a good place. read more

Stopped by Dock's Oyster House in Atlantic City for happy hour from 4 pm to 6 pm, and it's one of my favorite happy hour spots there. The half-price menu makes it a great deal. Just a heads up -- people start lining up before they open and there are only limited bar seats for happy hour, so once the doors open you'll want to grab a seat quickly. The bartender was friendly and welcoming even when the bar filled up fast. I've also tried the Dock's location in Manhattan, but the happy hour menu there is different and honestly not nearly as good. The only reason I tried that one was because it's part of InKind, while the Atlantic City location unfortunately isn't. We spent about $100 including tips, which felt reasonable for food, drinks, and the atmosphere. The live piano music added a really nice classic vibe. I'd heard that Dock's was legit and I've seen the line of ppl waiting along the sidewalk and into the parking lot waiting for the doors to open. I have to admit, I thought it was overhyped. Staff always goes above and beyond. We got the lobster chowder. It's was packed with veggies, I was not expecting that but it was delicious. A good friend of mine recommended this restaurant. The food was great. If you do not make reservations, you will need to arrive early because the bar fills up quickly during happy hour. I had a 4:15 reservation, and the bar was packed by 4:05 when we arrived. Chef Stephen's was great, and he came out to the dining area, checking on patrons. Our reservation was at 7:45 PM, and we arrived 30 minutes early as per the restaurant's policy. While we didn't mind waiting for our reserved time, I noticed many guests leaving but i didn't hear anything from hostess. Eventually, I had to ask the host about our table. As a restaurant owner myself in New York, I understand the importance of policies, but I felt that the Asian host treated us differently, which left me with an impression of bias. I chose to speak to her assuming that we are the same Asian. would foster a more pleasant interaction. I'm uncertain whether they are welcoming to Asians when it comes to dining in. Dock's seems to be a pretty popular restaurant in Atlantic City. I went to make a reservation on Resy a couple days before and the only available times were for 9PM or later. The restaurant closes at 9:30PM (this is just the latest they'll seat you. They won't be rushing you out the door after 9:30PM haha). I booked a table for 2 for a Friday at 9PM. My girlfriend and I were running a little late to our reservation so she called to see if it could be moved. The staff was very accommodating and told us it would be no problem if we arrived late. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant has a parking lot. We went inside and were seated immediately and our waiter introduced himself. He was very friendly and quick to answer all the questions we had. We started off with Raw Oysters, Fried Oysters, and Grilled Octopus. All of the appetizers were delicious. The raw oysters were fresh and the fried oysters had some interesting flavors to them. The oysters were also pretty big. Of the fried oysters either the Wasabi or the Buffalo were my favorite. The Marinara wasn't bad, but I enjoyed the other ones more. The octopus was cooked well and the beans it was served on were tasty. For our entrees we ordered Salmon over Lobster Risotto and Pan Roasted Bronzino. Both of these dishes were fantastic. Surprisingly, I liked the bronzino better than the salmon, but I liked the risotto more than the quinoa that the bronzino was served on. I'd order both of them again, but the menu is so big I'd like to try some of the other things. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but it's not ridiculously expensive. My second time here and it was a great dining experience again. The historic piano bar with updated dining room is filled with period photos of AC is bright and just the right spacing between tables. The raw bar menu is expansive and the staff knowledgeable about the options. We have 4 different oysters in 3 different presentations each were delicious . We came in on a Saturday night, and people are in and out. Finally after few minutes we were able to get a table upstairs. Our server was great and knowledgeable, we kept asking for recommendations! My husband and I finally got to the famous Dock's Oyster House in Atlantic City for their happy hour a few weeks ago and wow was it fantastic!! We were advised to get there on the early side.. happy hour starts at 4:00 but we arrived at 3:35, were the first in line and within minutes there was a line of about 30 people! The outside is deceiving as it's not in the best neighborhood, but once inside you find this beautiful bar. Our bartender Sean was absolutely superb, he greeted us, took our cocktail order and made one fabulous Manhattan! Love that they use Luxardo cherries! He knew it was our first time and was happy to offer suggestions and answer questions about the menu. We ordered the oysters for my hubby which he loved, tuna tacos super fresh and delish, mini crab cakes served with a lovely red pepper sauce, clams casino smoky and yummy, hubby also tried the deviled eggs topped with a fried oyster he said they were super tasty, and we couldn't resist trying the meatballs too which were nicely seasoned with a nice red sauce. We had such an awesome experience! From service to the ambience to the wonderful food and cocktails I would recommend this place very highly! If you like shellfish and seafood, it doesn't get better than this. Anywhere, any place on planet Earth . I love oysters and am a big West Coast oyster guy. Docks had only East Coast oysters, but they get the best of the East Coast and only serve the best, which were every bit is good as any West Coast oyster. It's because they only receive, accept and serve the best of the best. I had thought that the West Coast were inherently better. This is shellfish and fish heaven. Only a few restaurants in Baltimore and Miami can come close to matching it. I hear the steaks and desserts are great , but I haven't gotten to them yet as i've only eaten here a dozen times, because I live two hours away. read more
