    Lunch special
    michelle l.

Very good fast food Indian food. I was in the area and needed to grab lunch (to go) quickly. I was delighted to see Kurry Xpress show up on my yelp search. They have a lunch special. For $8.99, you get an appetizer, an entree, rice, roti, and dessert from their hot dish line (served by the server). I got the chicken 65 and the chicken tikka masala. Everything was pretty good. I had hoped I'd get some vegetables or daal, but they gave me yogurt sauce instead, which was tasty. I think I'll try calling ahead to get something made to order in the future, just because I like having more options. But I can hardly complain for such a bargain served quickly and with a smile.

    Buffett table, vegetarian options

Excellent lunch buffet! I think previously they shut down the buffet based on other reviews but now they have brought it back. Inclues 17 items total, including naan. They have 1 table for vegetarian and another buffett table for non-vegetarian options. The best tasting by far was the butter chicken but overall everything I tried was good. Decent value at $15. They also still doing the 1 or 2 entree combination tray if you want to go that route and pay less, but when I saw the buffet table and all the good options, it was too hard o pass up.

Kurry Xpress was not a standout for me. We spent several minutes trying to understand their complex menu. Many items on the menu were followed by the number "65" which made no sense to us. The worker just watched us struggling. As we asked questions we could never hear his answers because he wouldn't project his voice. Another worker came out & told us to ignore the menu because they are offering the buffet for $15. We tried the buffet. The food tasted pretty good, but it was amazing to me how almost every dish was totally mushy in consistency. The cauliflower was mush, the chicken was mush, etc. The naan bread we were expecting tasted more like an off-flavored pancake. The better foods we thought included the paneer dish. The cheese seemed fresh & tasty. Also the butter chicken had chicken that tasted good & wasn't mushy. The tikka chicken seemed very mushy to me. We've visited many Indian restaurants in the area & loved them. For us this one seemed just "ok".

Where do I begin? I'm sorry,  but I can't be lenient on this one because I've had great Indian food. J.K. my best friend is Indian and her dad makes one killer chicken curry. Positive: no dine-in due to the pandemic, so not crowded. The place was clean when walked in. My husband and I have been to an Indian place before, but we were with my best friend who told us what was good there. However, in this case, we didn't know what to order so we went there physically in the hope that the server could help us make our choices. First of all, we couldn't even tell her it's our first time and ask whether she recommended anything. We felt so rush; she just wanted to get our orders as if she was racing against the clock. We placed our order and explicitly say we wanted it spicy. I'm from the Caribbean, so I can handle the heat To our disappointment, our foods were not spicy AT ALL--- I guess she didn't think we could handle it. And to top it all off, she gave us 2 samosas instead of the 4 we paid for. I don't think I will go back there. The service is horrible

    The buffet bar.

I came for the lunch buffet. Very good food in casual atmosphere. There is one steam table with 8 vegetarian options and another steam table with 8 meat filled options. It is self serve. All for $15. Today they had dosa and a savory donut type bread. There are 2 chutneys and watermelon water. You can get a soda or Mango lassi for extra money.

Quick and easy Indian food that tastes very good! I ordered a medium butter chicken which wasn't as spicy as I was expecting. I got the goat curry spicy for my boyfriend and he loves it, it was VERY spicy but so flavorful and mouth watering. Biryani rice is perfectly spiced and cooked, and not a huge fan of the cut mirchi but it wasn't bad!

    RAW CHICKEN

This was my first time and the last time here. My husband and i decided to eat from the buffet to hsve more verity. There were no labels so we had to ask what everything was. One of the utensil they had my the was scorching and burned my husbands hand. The Naan was NOT authentic it was more like a Pancake. The chicken was raw and when I told the employee at the register he offered me another piece from the same batch smh (sir if it was all cooked together chances are all the chicken is raw).

    Lunch

Honestly, I randomly ordered a vegetarian lunch. I am now crying it is so hot ... I love it! (I'm from out of town on business.). So tourist/business friendly.

When we went to pay, the woman ringing up our order told us that each additional side, including the Greek salad that comes with the meal, would be an extra $1. This meant we were being charged an additional $2 per order. We questioned her about the charge three times because it was not clearly displayed on the menu board where we were ordering. She simply pointed to a small sticker on the counter indicating that this was a new charge. We ultimately proceeded with the order, but as we were walking out, she told us she would remove the $1 charge. After we had already left, she came after us and told us that she prides herself on customer service. If customer service is truly a priority, the new charge should have been clearly communicated before we placed our order. It also should have been clearly displayed on the main menu board rather than on a small sticker on the counter that is easy to miss. Good customer service is about transparency and making sure customers understand what they are being charged for before completing their purchase--not correcting the issue after the fact. I hope this feedback helps improve how new fees and charges are communicated to customers in the future.

It's housed in a former Wendy's restaurant, and I can see why it closed. It had no visibility. The tiny signs on the building for Naans were not legible so unless you knew the restaurant, people just drive by and think it's abandoned. We arrived 30-minutes after opening and there were 2 cars in the parking lot. My first thought was they must do a great takeout. Entering the restaurant, it was nothing fancy. I'm more interested in the food, flavors, and service. The server/hostess was pleasant, but not at all attentive or checked up on us once. I ordered the garlic naan and chicken tikki Marsala. My partner asked which items are vegan, she really didn't know. At Rasoi in Ybor, the server was asked the same question and she immediately pointed out all the vegan items. There were at least eight dishes that were vegan. Only having one choice and waited 15 minutes to order, we were stuck and he ordered the Dal Tudka. The meals were delicious. The sauces and medium spices were perfect in both meals. The garlic naan was perfect for dipping. I liked the chicken was cut into cubes and didn't require a knife. And, the prices were so reasonable for the amount of food you received. My letdowns were the reason for only 3 stars. They had 8 different guests order takeout. The only customer in there when we arrived ordered by phone and waited 30 additional minutes. He said to the owner he left his house 20 minutes after placing his ordering. There were additional wait times for 7 of the 8 people who called in takeout orders. Our wait time was equally long. There seemed to be ample help in the back from where I was sitting. We were in the restaurant for 65 minutes from the time we walked in until the time we left. Nothing screamed ambience, experience, as well as so few orders for this to occur. One of my biggest letdowns in any sit down restaurant, other than a fast food restaurant is bottled drinks. I like water served in a glass, with ice, a straw, and refills. I'd like to say I would give them another chance, but my partner was hellbent not returning due to the 1 vegan option and service. It's a shame such wonderful flavors were overshadowed by less than great service and extensive wait times for us and the guests who ordered takeout.

The chicken I wish was a little more tender but still good. I also got a Mango Lassi to clear my palette which was so smooth. Definitely would get it again.
