Pro: Protein heavy dishes however- its flavor is just. We had kung pao & basil chicken (basil was hands down the better of the two), kung pao was blah... not enough flavor profile for me. Hot & sour soup was more like sweet & hint of sour soup... we asked for vinegar to help give more sour.. the bowl was big- we had 4.5 smalls bowls of soup from it (also- doesnt come w green onions so must ask for it and no condiments on the table- so need to ask for pepper too). Will not return to Liang's for the sweetness of the food. This was my small celebratory dinner for winning a lawsuit another restaurant had against me over my initial 3-star review. It was dismissed a few months ago. Yesterday and today, both the Tampa Bay Times and New York Post covered the case; the lively discussions on Facebook and especially on Reddit is decisively in my favor - I'd like to say thank you for your support and fairness. Liang's has a clean decor - the orange ceiling installation (dragon dance?) reminds me of the Gates exhibit in Central Park, in 2005: bright orange 'gates' fluttering in the February wind, against the snowy ground, bundled up people, mostly in dark color walking among the gates - it was very memorable. Well trained staff, although sounds scripted but they're talkative and thorough. Our server complimented on my bracelet and earrings. "My wife really likes it ... where did you buy them?" They bring the wine bottle to the table and do the tasting pour into a small decanter before pouring again into my glass. The wine glass itself could have been nicer. And the fake flowers ... No plate - the server is kind, brought an extra plate. Noise level is high with only four other occupied tables. The open kitchen and the staff add to the noise. We've medium spicy Sichuan beef and Chongqing fish: ingredients are fresh, large portions, but overall too sweet. The spiciness is very low. Before the bill, the server asked if we'd like some dessert, but my stomach turned: I just ate so much sweets!!! read more

Service started off with a bang but like all fireworks it quickly faded. Server didn't come by to check on us until we were almost done and we were the only people eating another table left and one just got sat, so other than chatting about personal lives the servers weren't busy. The food was okay but nothing you can't get at your corner Chinese restaurant. Perhaps the dinner would have been better if the service was there, but when you hire teenagers and no supervision you can't expect much! Great place! Finally found an Asian restaurant in the Tampa area that we will return to. We went for dinner on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. The place was bright (lots of windows), open floor plan and very clean. Our server, Paige, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We told her it was our first time eating there and she took time to describe some dishes and knew how things were prepared. My wife asked for no onions in her lo mein and Paige made sure it wasn't due to allergies (it isn't) in case other items had onions in them. The managers(?) were helping out the servers and conversing with customers. We had Veggie Dumplings for a starter. Tasty and well prepared. I had General Tso's Chicken / white meat only and she had Chicken Lo Mein for our mains. My General Chicken was a bit like a lightly spicy orange chicken. I enjoyed it a lot. The chicken pieces were nice and big. I tasted the Lo Mein and it was great as well. The portions were huge. Enough for lunch tomorrow. read more

The cuisine here is just as good as their Win Win fast-casual concept. I've never been to Liang's Bistro in New Tampa, so it was a welcomed change. It's cool that they decided to transform their Brandon eatery into a full-service restaurant. The décor is more elegant, and the seating is comfortable. I really like how they renovated the space. In some ways, the menu & food items are the same. I did see a few more items that they didn't previously have at Win Win. The Sizzling Shanghai Steak looks unique, and I can't wait to try it. The Fried Dumplings here are very good. We especially liked the pickled daikon that was served on the side. So, I normally get the Orange Chicken. You can never go wrong with the Liang families orange peel sauce at any of their restaurants. I decided to go with the Orange Beef. I'm so glad that I finally tried it. It's just as delicious as the chicken. What I liked even more is that it's stir-fried with freshly chopped orange slices in the peel. It's absolutely delicious! The fried beef was crispy & crunchy. It had a nice kick of chili pepper. It's still my favorite! My husband got the Sichuan Stir-Fry. It wasn't as spicy as he thought it would be, but it had a flavorful sauce. He forgot to ask for extra spicy. Everything was exactly the same as what we had before with the exception of the salad (served with ginger orange dressing or creamy sesame), and the dumplings. The prices may be a tad higher, but you're also getting great table service. The lunch combos are still a great deal. We'll definitely return to try more things on the menu. It's just too difficult to pass up their signature Orange Peel or General Tso's dishes. read more

Wonderful food. Some of the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. We had the teriyaki wontons for an appetizer (forgot to take a pic) and they were perfect. We have been regulars to the Bruce B Down location and finally made it to Brandon. The location is beautiful. We were seated quickly. Our server Gabriel did a great job. He was very personable. We got takeout from Liangs. This Brandon location is much welcomed. My wife and I have taken many trips to New Tampa to go to that location. It's our New Years Eve tradition. This year, we won't need to drive as far! Liangs is top quality Chinese food in a sit down, waiter service environment. I always get the Sesame chicken. All-white meat for the extra dollar. It's sweet and tangy. The sticky sauce rich in flavor. The chicken slightly crunchy, juicy inside. The large portion comes with a side of white or brown rice and steamed broccoli. I wasn't sure of where to eat, so I used Yelp reviews for our next meal. Saw some good reviews from Liang's Bristo Asian Cuisine, so gave this place a try. Place is in a "shopping center", but mainly nothing but restaurants, therefore, there is plenty of parking all around the restaurant. Once inside, the there was a host seated us right away, place was not full, but there was a lot of people and this was around 2pm on a Sunday. Our server came pretty fast to take our order and help us with any questions. She was very friendly and approachable. Prices seem in the medium reals of prices. Not cheap, but not that high that would make me leave the place. My wife ordered the Beef Korean BBQ plate with rice, my son had the Beef Sichuan with white rice, and I had the Chicken Sesame place with white rice. All plates can be picked as beef, chicken or shrimp. Although the Korean BBQ and Sichuan plate were supposed to be spicy, I don't think it was that spicy as I was able to taste their food and did have not run to drink some water right after. Food was very flavorful, and well-seasoned. The chicken sesame was crispy, even after they pour the sweet and sour sauce on top of it. The amount they serve is large enough ending up taking to go, or even sharing your plate is there. I recommend this place and will most likely return to try some other plates from their menu. read more

My favorite Chinese food in Brandon, I love general tso beef, but I also enjoy trying new dishes here. I feel like everything I have tried was prepared fresh and with care. It's pricey to come as a single person, as most dishes are sized almost to share, but it gives great leftovers too.
