On my quest to try another Indian restaurant, I found myself in the neighborhood and decided to give Naans Indian Bar and Grill a try. Hidden back behind another restaurant. It's housed in a former Wendy's restaurant, and I can see why it closed. It had no visibility. The tiny signs on the building for Naans were not legible so unless you knew the restaurant, people just drive by and think it's abandoned. We arrived 30-minutes after opening and there were 2 cars in the parking lot. My first thought was they must do a great takeout. Entering the restaurant, it was nothing fancy. I'm more interested in the food, flavors, and service. The server/hostess was pleasant, but not at all attentive or checked up on us once. I ordered the garlic naan and chicken tikki Marsala. My partner asked which items are vegan, she really didn't know. At Rasoi in Ybor, the server was asked the same question and she immediately pointed out all the vegan items. There were at least eight dishes that were vegan. Only having one choice and waited 15 minutes to order, we were stuck and he ordered the Dal Tudka. The meals were delicious. The sauces and medium spices were perfect in both meals. The garlic naan was perfect for dipping. I liked the chicken was cut into cubes and didn't require a knife. And, the prices were so reasonable for the amount of food you received. My letdowns were the reason for only 3 stars. They had 8 different guests order takeout. The only customer in there when we arrived ordered by phone and waited 30 additional minutes. He said to the owner he left his house 20 minutes after placing his ordering. There were additional wait times for 7 of the 8 people who called in takeout orders. Our wait time was equally long. There seemed to be ample help in the back from where I was sitting. We were in the restaurant for 65 minutes from the time we walked in until the time we left. Nothing screamed ambience, experience, as well as so few orders for this to occur. One of my biggest letdowns in any sit down restaurant, other than a fast food restaurant is bottled drinks. I like water served in a glass, with ice, a straw, and refills. I'd like to say I would give them another chance, but my partner was hellbent not returning due to the 1 vegan option and service. It's a shame such wonderful flavors were overshadowed by less than great service and extensive wait times for us and the guests who ordered takeout. read more

The Veggies Samosas and the butter chicken is a win here! I ordered Uber eats after a long day out on the town and when I got settled in the order had arrived .I opened it up and everything smelled incredible The naan was wrapped in just aluminum foil but I feel like it helped it stay warm. The veggie samosas were so good the sauce to dip were a great combination. The butter chicken at medium heat was the perfect amount of spicy and a hint of sweet with creamy sauce to dip the naan in. The chicken I wish was a little more tender but still good. I also got a Mango Lassi to clear my palette which was so smooth. Definitely would get it again. read more

We wanted to have Indian food for Wednesday dinner so we decided to visit Naans Indian Bar and Grill. The place was about 20 minutes from our house and it has spacious parking lot. When we entered the restaurant the ambiance was nice and there were around 10-15 enjoying their dinner. We got seated and soon we were greeted by the server with water and menus. After browsing through the menus we decided to order Gobi 65, Chicken 555 and house special paneer biryani. And we ordered food spicy. The service was okay and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes before we got our food. First we had Gobi 65. The gobi was good and delicious. It was perfect spicy and we loved gobi 65. Then we had chicken 555. The chicken was also good and it was tasty as well as delicious. Then we got panner biryani. The biryani was the biggest disappointment of the night. For biryani we literally got paneer masala over rice and even not mixed well. One of the worst biryani we had. Apart from biryani, the appetizers we ordered was delicious and good. read more

The atmosphere of this place isn't clean. The inside has multiple machines under the ac vents and the decorations are bland to say the least. The dining tables are cheap and the food is expensive for small portions. Before I ordered anything they were out of three items that are on their menu so I had to improvise and order a chicken tikka kabob. The chicken tikka kabob isn't a kabob it's just boneless chicken over vegetables and a small portion. I'm not happy with my experience at all the price isn't worth it. On top of that I'm not too sure I trust the place the outside isn't appealing and the inside is just as bad. I can only imagine how their kitchen looks.... 30 + dollars for two subpar entrees down the drain... beware of this place read more

Naans Indian Bar and Grill is a no frills option for solid Indian food in Brandon. The food itself is delicious! Extremely flavorful. Highly recommend the butter chicken, garlic naan, and Apollo fish. The portion sizes are generous, so we always end up bringing some home. It has never been packed when we've been, but service can be a bit slow so do be prepared to spend some time there. read more

In Brandon for appointment and I love Indian food so decided to try this place. It has amazing food. Very fresh and delicious. I would recommend highly everything that I ordered. Veggie samosas, onion pakora, followed by a meal of Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan bread. From signage this appears to be a new Indian restaurant . Not yet super busy but worth a trip to try out your favorites. The building from the outside looks like a stand alone converted fast food place. Inside has plenty of seating and is clean and orderly. I was excited to try this new Indian restaurant because I love Indian food and it was my boyfriend's first time trying Indian food. The restaurant is brand new so the wait time was a little long but the staff was very polite and took our order quickly. The food came out fresh and hot. The flavors were so delicious. My boyfriend, who is from the Caribbean loved the curry goat, he could not stop eating it. It came with white rice. I loved the rice and fish dish. I forgot the exact name but the flavor was great and it was nice and spicy. The tandoori chicken was also seasoned well and very good. I ordered a mango lassi for dessert which I loved. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back. If you don't want to wait for the food, I noticed many people ordered ahead and just picked up their order in the restaurant for carry out. read more

Their service and quality of food has diminished. They are understaffed and they've changed some offerings that are pretty traditional. I used to order twice a week from them, but after last few experiences, never again. Instead, I've been going to Bawarchi's since they've actually improved their service and food. read more

I was really excited that they opened up an Indian restaurant near my work area. However, I have to be brutally honest that the flavors and the food are not up to par on Indian cuisine. I ordered a tandoori chicken and a tadka daal with a naan. The chicken was hard and dry like they cooked it yesterday or something. I was so looking forward to that melt in your mouth crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside tandoori chicken experience, but this was very disappointing. The flavors were also very mild. A lot of Indian restaurants took away lunch specials, and lunch buffets for the excuse of Covid but at this point Covid is not what it used to be and we're not taking precautions on that level anymore. So what is the point of not having any lunch specials whatsoever? They don't have a buffet, but they don't even have lunch specials so now we have to pay full price for basic portions of subpar Indian food. The service was also not super great. Best Indian food in Brandon!!! Paneer Biyiani, chili chicken, garlic chili naan, the staff and chef were so friendly.

I've heard some buzz about Naans and decided to try it out when in the Brandon area recently. I decided to get takeout and placing the order was quick and easy. Pickup, on the other hand, was a bit of a cluster. I arrived about 10-15 minutes after my order was ready and the first person couldn't find it on their table of takeout orders. I waited patiently, and a second person who came out to assist was able to find it within seconds. The order had been ready, and on the table the whole time. I feel like they need to rethink their order pick up process, given how busy they are with takeout orders. Moving onto the food. I will say this was one of the better Indian places I have had the pleasure of experiencing in the Tampa area. My order consisted of the chicken seekh kebab, chicken tikka masala, and garlic chili naan. The food was packed well and held up on the journey home. The food was also hot when I got home and flavored well. The chicken tikka masala does only come in medium and hot options, and the medium version I got was quite spicey. I'm used to heat and even for me it was a bit on the hotter side. Overall, a great option for this part of town if you can't make it into Tampa for other Indian places. read more

Great little spot, used to be a fast food chain of some sort. Nothing fancy, but they have my wife's favorite Indian dish, gobi manchurian, which we could never find living in California. I've had butter chicken and a couple other curries I can't pronounce, great flavors and good spice levels. She loves the gobi. The naan is thin and crispy. It would be a five star review expect for the dirty tables (slow to clear off) and it's a little pricey for the portions of the entrees. My sister and I ate Sunday lunch here for the first time and it was superb! We had mild spicy goat curry which melted in the mouth was just the right heat and the flavors were unbelievable. Their garlic naan bread was fresh tender and perfect. And the veggie pakora was crisp and flavorful. And beyond the call, we were looking for my sister's favorite dessert carrot halwa but they didn't have it on the menu and lo and behold the chef came out delivering the best carrot halwa my sister had ever tasted, just for us! Best to order takeout. Avoid dining in due to very long wait. Food overall is very good but the service (dining room wait staff and also food prep is incredibly slow) and also they keep the dining room temperature uncomfortably warm (like 79-80 degrees warm!). We came in about 12pm Saturday, we were the first and only table there. ORDERING They will not give you a menu, you have to use the QR code picture at corner of table to bring up the menu online. FOOD: Somosa - very good, 2 large pieces, comes with 2 different chutney sauces on the side Garlic naan - very good, 4 pieces, they use lot of garlic Paneer tikka masala - less flavorful compared to other places Butter chicken - very good, better flavor and more tomato spice taste compared to the tikka masala. Comes with 1 bowl of rice for both the butter chicken and tikka masala. WAIT and SERVICE Service is not attentive at all. 2 people in front dining room but they still super slow and inefficient with everything, even for 1 table, it got even worse after more people walked in after us. Once you walk it, they will acknowledge you and let you know to sit anywhere, then take your drink order. Then no one comes by for like 10-15 minutes. Only after we asked for menu did they mention to use the QR code to bring up menu on our phone. Despite us being the first and only table in the restaurant when we ordered, the food took (I'm estimating) at least 20min for the somosas, took about 30min for the entrees, (naan, butter chicken, tikka massala) to come out. No one came by to check on us the entire meal. When you're ready to leave, you have to go get their attention for to-go boxes then you box the food yourself, also instead of waiting for the check which won't come, it's better just walk up to the counter to pay. I felt bad for all the other people (probably 5 or 6 tables) by the time we left, they probably have no idea how long a wait they are in for. If I got takeout they would be a 4 star but since we dined in, minus 1 star for the slow service, uncomfortable dining room. read more

So this is a very new Indian restaurant in Brandon and we had to try it out! I did a takeout order today and we really enjoyed our food! This place does not come to play with the spices though, the fish biryani was VERY spicy and I chose medium spicy hahahaha but very flavorful and a new dish that I love. Butter chicken was super creamy and flavorful and mildly spicy, garlic naan was yummy and perfect like it should be, and the rice was yummy as well! All in all I definitely recommend and you should try it if you can handle the spice! read more

This place is when they tell you not to judge a book by its cover. Their unassuming facade hides an ample and quaint dining area. We came in for lunch on a Friday and went for our usuals, just to check out the place. We had a Spicy Butter Chicken and a Chicken Tikka Masala, they were delicious! Spicy was enough to get a sweat going, so be careful if you ask for extra spice! We also had a Paneer 555, which is fried and in a spicy cashew sauce, very good! Overall the experience was very welcoming and I think we've found a nice, quick, satisfyingly delicious lunch place. read more

Whoever the cook is today, 11/27/23 @7pm, needs to find another job .... We just ordered 2 chicken tikka masalas, 2 garlic naans and a gobi 555 and it was hardly close to what you expect .... The chicken tikka masala was filled with bell peppers & onions and the sauce tasted nothing like tikka masala and the GARLIC NAAN WAS BURNT. Picture below. WHO works in a kitchen and has the nerve to place 2 burnt orders of naan in a takeout order???? Obviously this establishment hires people that don't care about their reputation. So if I was writing exclusively about the flavors it would be 5 stars. We ordered the samosas (best thing), chicken 65 (excellent), butter chicken (great), chicken masala (tasty), and lamb saag. The saag was tasty but the lamb was mostly bone. Literally, large pieces of bone. And some small shards. We also ordered garlic naan, which was good but also definitely burnt on the bottom. Service was slow, and they weren't attentive until we flagged them down. We will probably go again and just avoid the lamb. read more

Was very excited to try this restaurant but the horrible service got in the way. We ordered from door dash and when our dasher got to the restaurant, they refused to give our dasher the food we PAID for... on the doordash app! The food was boxed and ready, but when we called the restaurant to tell them to give it to our dasher, they claimed "we don't do doordash" before rudely hanging up. My fiancé and I came here post hurricane Ian and to our surprise this place was up and running for business. We ordered chicken Tikki Marsala and Chloe Batura and we were BLOWN AWAY. 10/10 amazing. I can confidently say this is best chicken Tikki Marsala I've had in Brandon and I've tried 5-6 places at this point. Better than Curry Leaves by Tampa International. That's how serious I am!!
