We decided to upgrade our homes knob and tube wiring and reached out to a few local companies. Blake provided a competitive bid for the job. While it wasn't the cheapest estimate, I got the impression they would address all of our concerns, which they did. Blake didn't apply pressure into increasing the scope of work (upgrading electrical service) and advised on options that saved us money in the short term, while keeping options open for the future. The team was very friendly and did a good job of minimizing the drywall dust. Every time they made cuts, they ran a vacuum at the same time. They also helped fix some random things like our gate buzzer / keypad. In the end, they completed the work on time/budget and minimized the disturbance on our family as much as possible. Called around quite a few places in the city for a bid on a more complicated job. The owner from Pauric Electric was able to come out for an estimate and based on the knowledge and experience of the owner I felt comfortable hiring them for the job. (They had also done all the electrical work at one of my favorite trendy neighborhood restaurants and other more complicated jobs)! The work I had to get done was not cheap but in line with other "half way proposed costs" I had gotten over the phone. On the day of the job 3 guys showed up on time and worked in my house for almost 5 hours installing a spit circuit, running wires in my drop down ceiling to accommodate a new heating bathroom fan and create an electrical outlet in my hallway for my new alarm system. The other outlet was 8 feet away from where the panel should be and running wires on the floor was not my idea of a "clean look". Pauric and his team were able to do all this work without one single hole made in my ceilings or walls so I was very happy afterwards not touch up repairs or paints needed. A sweet, generous friend offered to come by and help me install two light fixtures that I had purchased from Lowes many months prior but had put off installation because it was far more than I felt comfortable attempting. Electrocuting myself was assured. Long story short, after several hours it was over his head too and several points of my apartment lost electricity. It's 1PM New Years Eve and we called several electricians to get things fixed. We reached the owner, Blake I believe, luckily and he was over by 3PM. We're moving into a new home and needed some electrical outlets installed in several closets. I called around to a few places and got timeframes to do this work that made me gasp the dates were so far out. Blake came to see the job site immediately and did an assessment. I was impressed because the owner came out himself and also works alongside his team on jobs. Oddly enough, he had done work at my current condominium and people thought highly of him. The assessment cost was well within the range of the other proposals, but the difference was that he was willing to come in a few days. On the day of the job, Blake and one of his team showed up. They were scheduled to arrive at 8 am and they were at the house early. I barely had time to turn off the alarm system when they started work. They were done so quickly, I couldn't believe it. There were no messes or holes in the freshly painted walls. They were done in record time. I was so happy to get this done and not have to clean up after. I further appreciated Blake's advice on the pros/cons of adding floor outlets. He was very balanced and willing to do whatever I wanted, but made sure I knew that it might affect resale value. I called Pauric Electric after some vandal/thief broke into my combo mailbox / electric meter box and ripped the fuse out of my fusebox and all the electricity in the house went out. Blake was able to come on very short notice and replaced the fuse (which took about 5 seconds) and then, while he was here, he was able to quickly and efficiently address a couple of other issues I had outstanding: installing 220V outlet in the garage, replacing too-sensitive circuit breakers that kept tripping for no apparent reason (he immediately knew what the problem was, and was able to fix it.) If I could give six stars I would. Blake came to check on a blown light socket which left the front of the house without power. I left a message and Amanda, his office manager, promptly returned my call the next morning. We set up an appointment and Blake arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule (the first wonder). The fix proved a relatively simple one, and (wait for it) he did not charge us! (That, of course, is the second wonder.) I suspect we've all had experiences with that $110 per hour or any part thereof, and I had my checkbook in hand ready to pay. I'm so happy we can add Blake to our roster of talented professionals. I'm shocked that this business has so many 5* reviews given the complete lack of responsiveness and follow up I've experienced. I was referred to Pauric Electric by my building's assistant manager when the lights in half of my apartment stopped working. I gave them a call and left a voice message explaining the problem and asking them to give me a call back, which went unreturned. I then tried to email them and they replied at 4am on a Friday saying they were available that day from 9-10 or 8am the next day. I replied when I woke up saying that 9-10 worked but received no confirmation from them and no one showed up. When I followed up to see what happened they informed me that they had already scheduled someone for the 9-10 slot but could do noon the next day. We replied and said that worked and again received no confirmation and of course no one showed up or answered their phone. Eventually we gave up and went with another company that was much more responsive From all the positive reviews, it sounds like Blake is probably a great electrician -- if you can get ahold of him and he decides to show up read more
