So a little background on me, I have awful teeth from years of medical issues and I am also by…read morenature TERRIFIED (generally beyond consoling) of the dentist. Any dentist. The smells of the office, the pain, the condescending remarks about my teeth, the anxiety about where the money will come from. Anything and everything about even considering visiting a dentist makes me want to take a double dose of xanax. After visiting a few dentist with no such luck in the past 2 years I asked my doctor who I trust immensely if he had any recommendations and he gave me Dr. Zora Hanko's name/number. It took me a few days to finally call but when I did I was surprised that i was almost immediately put at ease by the incredibly kind receptionist. I briefly told her my concerns and the level of anxiety I generally have and she actually listened, took note and genuinely seemed to care. This morning I woke up 4 hours before my appointment due to an already increased build up of anxiety. It turns out none of this anxiety was necessary. After sitting in the waiting room for only about 5 minutes I was brought back to the exam room by the dental hygienist. I can not remember her name but she was so sweet and kind. Then Dr. Hanko came in and since she knew how anxious I was, instead of getting straight to work she sat down next to the chair and asked me to tell her about my self, what my concerns with my teeth are and what she could do to make my appointments easier. When I was giving her my information she listened, asked questions when necessary and not once made me feel judged. Then she asked if she could take a look in my mouth. Part way through her examining my teeth I realized for the first time ever I was sitting in a dentist chair and NOT shaking with anxiety. I left the appointment with a plan of action for my crazy teeth, another appointment and absolutely no anxiety in sight. Best. Feeling. Ever.

Very careful, very caring, and discusses treatment options sensibly with you. The hygienists and other staff are great too. Always help you to help yourself with your dental care. They will fit you in if you have an emergency, and sometimes of course you may have to wait a bit to be seen, because of this. My kids are now grown and have to make appointments when they visit me from other states! That's how good she is. My son did visit other dentists while at college and when he started work, but none were as good as Mary - they did shoddy work, found silly work to do in his mouth. And while nothing about going to the dentist is comfortable, I at least felt confident that while here, my teeth were being treated well, I wasn't getting scammed out of my money, and they truly cared about me...well, my mouth, at least. :) The assistants were wonderful and sweet, and the dentist actually surprised me with his "next-door neighbor" demeanor. A nice guy. I ended up getting my teeth cleaned but then went back and got them to replace a cap on a chipped tooth. They did a fantastic job and really paid attention to detail. I've already recommended them to friends and I certainly recommend them to anyone who asks.

However her dental hygienist is bad and she is unprofessional. I can't remember her name. I had no problem with teeth cleaning before until this one. She is bad at cleaning. She wasn't gentle, kept pushing the tools on my healthy teeth. It makes me uncomfortable. I supposed to feel relaxed and happy with my clean teeth. Dr. Patel was excellent and the staff was excellent. My issue is that I received a statement 12/17 showing how much insurance paid and how much I owed. At 6 PM last night (12/18) I received a text message that if I didn't pay the balance by 12/23 it was being turned over to a collection agency and I would incur additional charges. The balance has been sent in full as of this morning and I will not be returning nor recommend any of my family or friends, and encourage the one I have recommended to cancel.

One of my front two teeth were filled by Dr. Farmer which lasted 10 years. Once one of the new crew filled it, it broke or chipped at least 5 times in different places when I was eating regular foods only a few weeks later.
