Never judge a book by its cover…read more It has been a while since I got another firearm. All the new gun rules, along with inflation really push many of us away from this great sport. I still standby those whom support protecting our constitutional rights and urge those to consider getting one that suit your needs. Prior to unexpectedly finding Ling Firearms, I already considered getting a replacement Glock that I naively sold thinking, the gun might blow-up after putting 50,000+ rounds through its barrel. I was having lunch with my wife and friends at a neighboring Japanese restaurant. While leaving, I saw the big bold black Gun sign and thought just then, God's calling. I approached the storefront door to find a paper taped sign, "No person below 21 years old." I tried to open it, door was locked but lights were on. So, I knocked and knocked and there he was, Alex the store owner peeking behind the curtains. He gestured to me in sense of, "what do you want?" So, I told him, would like to look at some firearms. He unlocks the door to let me in, then locks it behind me. I felt a bit unease just as he was. Can't blame the guy, he must be in his early to mid 70s opening his shop full of guns to a complete stranger. I walked over to the counter to ask him if he has the gun I am looking for. His nodded with a sign of disapproval, suggesting I consider a higher caliber pistol. I explained my reasonings, he then points at my future gun. The price he gave me was alright, not cheap but still lower than major branch chains. I always prefer mom & pop shops for the intimacy and comfort of my own experience. After processing everything and waited 11 days, no call from Alex. It's reasonable since we're literally in mist of holiday seasons. Another week has gone by, still no return calls, no method in leaving messages either.. so I decided to show up. He somewhat recognizes me, referring me to the "Glock" guy. He said he's been waiting for me "a long time now". I didn't even know how to respond, can't be upset since I'm getting my new gun. While we finish the rest of the paperwork, I got him to opened up. This is where my perceptions of Alex changed. Alex is a Vietnam war veteran. While in the Army, he served as a combat pilot tasked to multiple tours. He has even fought in Russia. There were many other experiences he mentioned that were not PG rated. You can sense from his voice and aura, the man has been through some crazy stuff. He spoke about his grandkids, not seeing them this year. The pain and sadness I felt in his expression was notably evidential for he missed them very much. He gave me a lot of advices, made a lot of suggestions to which firearm to consider next, again, for my needs. I wished I knew about this shop 40 years sooner.. when I wasn't even considered yet. It's easy for folks nowadays to quickly jumped into conclusion, given the fact how sensitive things have become. All I see coming to this shop is an honest man with years of experience on full alert to protect himself and his type of business. But I encourage you to look beyond the stereotype to allow this veteran to share his life. Only then, you'll truly understand how he'd came to be. For that notation, and if you're reading this, thank you Alex for your service and knowledge. I hope to see you soon for the next one.

This is a great gun shop actually. U don't have to waste ur time anywhere else! I saw other…read morenegative reviews before coming. But in fact the owner is a kind old man. I've visited multiple gun shops. Most of them only have one or two handguns now. However here he has a lot of guns in stock even in this national emergency time, and the price is really good. I don't know how he treats others, but for me I got good experience shopping here. If U really need a gun now, just come here!
