I've been going there for years and now I was told if my eye glass prescription changes, I would need to pay $50 for that script! huh? My health insurance pays for the yearly visit which includes the eye exam which determines what script I need. They claim insurance companies actually "pay" for that script but now many do not. So if the patient pays up front they get their money. If the insurance does by chance cover it ( and mine does- I called) I will get reimbursed. No way am I paying $50 for a script to get glasses. It's part of the visit and exam covered by my insurance! I will most certainly find another eye care provider in which a few scribbles on a pad of paper is included! Seems fishy to me. Any primary visit I have and if I need a script, I don't pay for it. Very bizarre and how funny: my script changed this time. It has been the same for many, many years. read more

Very unprofessional staff, premises dirty. I would not have with performed by this doctor or at this location.

Dr Kwiat performed upper and lower blepharoplasty on me. I kept expressing my concerns of my lower lids felt like they were being pulled down. He became very dismissive and confrontational the final straw was when he got within an inch of my face I thought he was going to physically harm me. I've had several consulto with occuloplastic surgeons and all have agreed he removed to much skin and didn't reinforce with a canthopexy. I now have large tension scars that are the reason for that pulling down sensation. I will need reconstructive surgery to fix this and it will cost me a lot of money. Dr Kwiat could have handled this in a much more positive way but instead chose to call me crazy and body dismorphic in my chart. His operative notes provided no clinically useful information for future surgeons. Dr Kwiat should be embarrassed to have his colleagues read his unprofessional charting technique. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. read more

Went here for years but eventually the rudeness and disregard of the admin staff drove me away. Between them "forgetting" to order my contacts after I called to the way I was told I would have to call back because "I have other things to do" when they told me I had to prepay to order contacts. Since they had never made me do that before, I didn't have my card and had to walk across the room to grab it. Apparently those 5 seconds were too long for her to wait or even put me on hold. Little stuff like that just kept adding up and it just wasn't worth dealing with. But this morning I woke up and had the tell tale signs of another corneal ulcear. Called here instead of my other eye doctor since Dr. Kwiat had treated my last one and he's a great doctor. I've never seen a medical facility that didn't plan for and schedule emergency appointments, so I assumed I would be able to get in within a week or so. I was told since I was no longer considered a client, I would have to wait a month...with a damaged cornea. No thanks. I understand prioritizing your current clients, but to act like it would be fine to wait a month, that's just not right. The doctors are great, but the admin staff...not so much. Again, because I loved Dr Kwiat I had planned on getting my lasik done here...but I just don't trust the staff to get me in when I need to if something were to go wrong. read more

I ALMOST DIED AND THEY WOULDN'T GIVE ME AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE I MISSED TWO I just tried making an appointment with Kwiat since my eye vision has worsened drastically after having my son and i was told I'm blocked from their system for missing two appointments. When I explained I called to cancel the one I had in the beginning of last year (Aprilish) because I was having a seriously high risk pregnancy and barely ever left the house (could barely move) and where I ALMOST DIED and had to receive an emergency c section later in September she said "well there's no record of you calling so you're blocked that's our new policy" and she also said that I had an appointment missed in December (I DID NOT MAKE THIS ONE) so if they generate an appointment that you didn't agree to and you don't show up just know it'll be YOUR fault ! I never could imagine a place being so cold hearted smfh read more

Dr Kwiat is very professional and knowledgeable! My parents were very pleased with all the care and concern he gave them. My husband and I are thankful to have Dr Kwiat as our doctor. Expect to wait, and wait, and wait, and.... I showed up early for my initial appointment so that I would have time to fill out paperwork and still be on time. BIG MISTAKE. I had to wait more than 1/2 hour PAST my scheduled appointment time. I will say the exam was thorough and I didn't feel rushed once I was in. Then I scheduled my follow-up for 12:40 on 8/22. 8/22 arrives and at Noon, I called to see if they were running late (big surprise, they WERE! - by an hour+). They recommended I call back at 1:00, so I did. I asked, "What is the expected time you could take me?", the response was, "Can you come in now?". I told them I would be there in 5 minutes, and I WAS! Fast forward to 2:00... no receptionist. I left and called to tell them I had left. They said "We're sorry.... would you like to reschedule?" Um, ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you have nothing but time, perhaps this is your place. If you value your time at all, don't bother going here. read more

PLEASE READ THIS: I spend 3 and a half years going to Kwiat eye, on follow up appointments to help with the recovery of my left eye post lasik surgery with him. I felt that all he did during my appointments was collect co-pays and I do not believe I received the care I felt was needed. When I was 21 this guy told me my illness may have caused my cataract in my eye, because of the medication I was taking starting in October of 2013. He gave me durezol eye drops (from what I had been told previously from another doctor that these drops are strong steroids) for my left eye so that it could heal from my lasik surgery. He kept telling me that these drops would help me heal the tissue in my left eye. I found out that taking those drops for a prolonged period could potentially cause a cataract. Afterwards I asked to have a release of all my information to only find out he had diagnosed my cataract several months after my lasik surgery in the summer of 2012, meaning that I had been going to him for the durezol treatment that wasn't going to work. He'd been collecting my co-pays and money from my insurance for almost 2 and half years. I felt that he failed to inform me what was really going on with my eye and that I had wasted my money on his services. I think that Dr. Kwiat is a capable ophthalmologist and corrective eye surgeon, if that is all you are looking for. I may not have had the best experience with him, but that shouldn't discredit him completely. He's been doing this for years. I put my story on here so you could read my truth to why at the age of 21 I was diagnosed with a cataract. But the doctor in latham that I went to after Kwiat eye, fixed my problem in a few weeks and I felt like I was much better informed about my diagnosis and I felt like a human being cared for and not just a customer with a wallet. Sure, you might have to wait a little bit, but in my opinion the wait is worth the quality of the doctors. This is an eye Doctor, not a place to get glasses. Yes, they will examine your eyes and provide you with the required prescription to go to another facility to purchase glasses. This is the Doctor you go to when you are having a problem with more than your basic vision. I see them for my aggressive ocular allergies as well as to monitor another issue with one of my retina. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff is polite and professional. The technicians are very thorough when performing the routine tests. The doctors will spend as much time as it is necessary with you, each and every appointment, to make sure that both you and they are satisfied with the diagnosis. read more

OK, Where do I start... Office seems to be triple or quadruple booked, so be prepared to wait forever. Then after being seen by a nurse like person, doing the whole eye exam, you have to then wait all over again for a Doctor to do it over.... (be prepared to wait another 20 minutes in the back part of the office). They seem to have very SCAM like practices in regards to billing. 1) I received a bill 2 months after my visit that they had already billed my insurance for and the insurance company already paid. 2) Charges you for a "contact lens fitting fee", so if you want a contact lens prescription you will automatically pay $50 bucks more for it. When I asked if insurance will cover it they said they dont, only glasses or contacts. I called insurance company and they said that it should all be included in the same visit. ::wtf:: 3) If you have multiple visits they do the same "routine" checks on you even if you were just there 1 week ago (I've basically seen where they bill insurance for this over and over again). read more

I went there to ask why recent (last 5 years) prescriptions left me with vision that I felt was not perfect. I was told that I needed cataract surgery. They said "standard" lenses would result in my still needing glasses and strongly recommended an upgraded lens which is not covered by insurance and would cost me $5000.00 out of my pocket. Of course I chose what they recommended. I went back twice to explain why I was dissatisfied. The second time I was told my only option was to explain directly to Dr Kwiat. This of course required yet another visit AND of course another charge($$). Dr Kwiat explained that all eyes are different and focus at different distances. I asked what can be done because I cannot see to play cards or perform other seeing functions at distances between "reading (WITH dime store reading glasses) and "distance". Asked what can be done to correct this I was told "we could TRY laser surgery to remove scar tissue left from the cataract surgery". So, MAYBE if I spend another $1000.00+ to laser EACH eye my vision will get better. It seems to me that with the money I have spent at this practice (between out of pocket and insurance that the "fix" should be considered part of the original price package). I will not return to this practice and will make sure that I recommend against using this MD and/or his associates at every opportunity that I get. read more

In 2017 I had an eye infection, and they were able to get me right in with Dr. Siahpoosha who i really liked. In January 2018 I had Lasik surgery and the Surgical Coordinator Ashley was a pleasure to work with. Dr. Kwiat did a great job and I am very happy with the results. Every time I go into the office for a follow up, the staff are pleasant and I have never been kept waiting long. read more

If you don't have a lot of money, this is not the place for you. The doctor only cares about money. You have a test done every time you come in and they're always trying to sell you something. The girls spend no time with you at all and only one, a heavy set girl, seems to know what she's doing. I think in this area, it's just best to go elsewhere, even if it means an hour drive. read more
