Very rude staff and horrible experience. We were patients here but have found a much better practice. I had an appointment scheduled for our kids and they called my spouse (not me) to confirm the appointment. They gave her a deadline of 61 minutes to confirm the appointment and then canceled it. Message left at 9:59 am, appointment canceled at 11 on a Tuesday. I called several times but voicemails were full and not accepting messages. When I finally spoke to somebody they didn't care at all and offered appointments three months later. They made it very clear that it was our fault for not confirming our upcoming appointment in the 61 minute window they gave us. We signed forms to transfer our records to another pediatric dentist, submitted them and they never did it despite confirming receipt of the request. Our new pediatric dentist called Kwons for the records several times and finally got somebody to actually answer. They introduced themselves and said they needed to request our records, Kwons office just hung up on them and didn't even talk to our new dentist! We had to redo X-rays at the new dentist that had been done two months earlier at Kwons because they have not transferred the records. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe our experiences at Kwons. Dr Kwon should really look at his staff and realize that his name and reputation are directly tied to their attitudes, patient treatment, and actions (or lack of). Go elsewhere and save yourself the headache of this place. read more

It always blows my mind that you can be first on the schedule and still wait 20 minutes for a hygienist. They're generally good with the kids, and its a kid friendly environment, but there's plenty of room for improvement in efficiency. I bring my kids together and one time they forgot to put one of them on the schedule. They made me reschedule for another day. There often seems to be new hygienists and dentists too. read more

Love them! They take their time with my special needs daughter and she actually allows them to do a full cleaning with X-rays now! When we 1st started going to them Kwon in 2020 she was scared and inevitable we had to do iv sedation to get X-rays, do a cleaning and do treatment all in the same day. After almost 8 years with Kwon, we are done. Their standard of loving kids and appreciating parents, it's over. It's a true factory where kids are just dollar signs. Staff can't relay appropriate messages, doctor is rushed, and when my kids say hi to the staff they are to lazy to speak back. My kids told me they no longer like "that place". A healthy relationship with doctors and dentist are important and that relationship no longer exists for us at Kwon dentistry. read more

We have been taking our kids to Dr. Kwon Pediatric Dentistry now for a year and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Let's fact it being a child isn't easy, you don't know what you want and things are scary. Especially the dentist office. Today as my son and I pulled out front, the first thing he said as we were getting out of the car was that he didn't want blood in his mouth, talk about bad memories. Scary. This children's dental office is not like most. They have video games in the waiting room, a cool play house with slide and televisions throughout the waiting room and within the walls of the dental chairs. So while the kids get their teeth cleaned, they can watch a cartoon to keep them distracted and not so much focused on what the staff are doing to their teeth. The people here specialize in working with kids and are very good at what they do. My sons dental hygienist today was Megan, she was very easy going and did a great job on cleaning his teeth. It was no easy task, because he became scared, but she was able to help calm him down. She was fantastic. Dr. Strickland came in later and checked his teeth, gave recommendations and was very professional. The checking is easy, you walk up the big wrap around stairs, walk in through the big doors and sign in on the paper board, and get called in shortly. It took only about 3-5 minutes. If you have children and are looking for a pediatric dentist, these guys are good. Best of all, your kids get to pick one toy, one sticker and one baloon when they are finished. read more

TERRIBLE PRACTICE AND WORK ETHIC!!! My son has been a patient of Dr. Kwon since 2020. The practice went through an ownership change, since then the office has gone DOWNHILL. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE! They will charge you for any and all services possible. My son's insurance was not verified prior to my arrival to their office TWICE! I not only removed him from school early, I also utilized my PTO twice! When I asked the office manager why this was not completed prior to my arrival she stated "it is my responsibility to understand my insurance policy". Please beware! I drive over 20 miles to ensure that my children are taken care of by the best Pediatric Dentist (Dr. Kwon) in all of greater Atlanta. Dr. Kwon has an amazing practice! The staff are all friendly and upbeat from the moment you enter to the time you go back. I am unclear of their interviewing techniques but please keep them, they're working. The office is clean and welcoming with lots of windows and natural lighting. Parents are welcome behind the scenes as there is parent seating within the respective areas the children will be seen. Dr. Kwon is personable, friendly and makes my children chuckle. He is very hip! Above all, he is caring and will ask if the child is doing okay etc. He is experienced and seasoned and takes his time to ensure proper treatment. I highly recommend this practice to anyone...especially onewho has a child that had a negative experience at a dental office. I've been going to this office for 4 years, always great, friendly staff.....until procedure day, which counts the most! It was my 6 yr old daughter's first experience getting a filling and a crown. I'm disappointed in their wait and see approach, given that the crown could have been prevented like 6 months ago. Anyhow, My daughter was frantic, eyes full of fear after the procedure. Shortly after, She said the entire process was painful. Dr. Kwon assured me she was fully numb and he even called her a "scaredy cat". However, later that night, she cried, saying that the reason why she was in pain was because she couldn't breathe the entire time, feeling suffocated. The nitrous nose cap blocked her small nostrils, which caused her to scream even more. She struggled and tried to tell Dr Kwon, but with her body strapped down and mouth opened by a tool thing, she cried in terror, yet Dr Kwon did not acknowledge. He should have at least stopped to make sure she was comfortable and checked her breathing level. I called their office to give the feedback, all they did was "we'll make a note", click. At a minimum, they should be checking on the little ones to ensure breathing is good. read more

But within the past month, one child has had to have a root canal because of "wait and see" approach, and another that went for a cleaning and check-up 2 weeks ago, was told by her orthodontist this morning that she has 2 cavities that need filling immediately. Took my son for his yearly dental visit today. Wow...I have never seen such a happy dental place! Makes me wish I was a kid again, so I can enjoy all the good stuff! I never write reviews but I'm beyond annoyed with this location. We usually have a good experience but I guess customer service have gone downhill since covid19. I've asked 3 times to get a call back about my son's teeth because we were rushed out after his appointment. He has 2 caps on his teeth that are worn through to his natural teeth which causes pain and I'm told someone will get back to you every time I call. I used to dread coming to my dentist when I was a kid but my 7 and 3 year old LOVE coming here!!! And as a parent, I also love it!!! Why? Well where to start: CLEAN, plenty of kid friendly entertainment in the waiting room, FRIENDLY staff (and for staff that have to deal with so many kids and mother's....I am IMPRESSED at how patient, friendly, and accommodating they are), the hygienist (all are AMAZING including Donna!), and last but not least the DOCTOR. We do not normally fuss but, the front office staff are very rude. I understand that times are stressful but these are just not nice people.

I have been taking my kids to Kwon for about 7 years, but this dentist office has become overcrowded and more like a money making factory. We waited 30 minutes after our appointment time to be seen and when the staff came to get us, she was aggressive and annoyed that I was asking questions about what they were trying to get me to sign. They wanted me to pay $100+ for a yearly cleaning and X-rays that are always covered by our insurance (I ended up going somewhere else and what do ya know, it was 100% covered). During all of this, my 3 year old son had started causing a scene, because, well, we had been there for like 45 minutes and he's 3, sooo....the person that originally came to get us had stormed off in annoyance and they sent someone else out to get us. At this point, I'm so embarrassed and uncomfortable and the employees just seemed to make it worse. Everyone walks around frowning and miserable looking. I left that place and will never go back. Please please please, if you haven't been here before, choose somewhere else to take your precious babies, this place just doesn't care about them anymore. read more

The staff is very friendly and the environment is very welcoming! My daughter looked forward to playing in the tree house before her appointment. She was also able to pick out a toy after her check up, so she was excited about that! There's even a tv above the chair to try to distract them. The staff was friendly and office is clean. I have always had a great experience until my child (6 yrs old at the time) had to come in for a procedure. The reason why I'm giving the office 2 stars is because when my child was finished with the procedure the dentist had told me he had went ahead and done extra work like sealants on her. I know sealants are for protection but I would like to be notified before it is done what you will be doing. Not after the fact its been done. My daughter was a nervous. Of course any child would be having to be papoosed to a board because it is protocol for the type of anesthesia she needed. You don't call a child a scaredy cat even though it might have been a joke. Every child is different, some more sensitive then others. My child still remembers. I had went to another dentist after that. Come to find out from the previous dentist, there were burr marks left on the neighboring teeth where the treatment was done. Meaning teeth that didn't have a cavities on were cut into from the hand tool the dentist used. Its a good thing they were just baby teeth. I've been coming here since my daughter was born. I love this place. The waiting area has a cool treehouse the kids can play in before their appointment and video games. The employees are nice. The dentists, I've met two, are super great. My daughter is kind of a handful at the dentist and they are wonderful with her! So I called and spoke with Myra to schedule my kids there appointment and she was so rude. I was asking about a date and time she said you had to hold on with a rude tone in her voice and was so hateful when she got back. Like she didn't want to look at that data for me. Then when I was trying to tell her it was for 2 kids not just one children. Because she wouldn't let me say anything when I first called because she was so rude!! Then when I told her it was for 2 she put me on hold for a few mins because she seem like she got mad because I said for 2 kids. I never called the office all the years my kids have been there and got treated the way I just got done.. I'm really think about changing the office because that's not how anyone should be treated. switch to this office at the beginning of the year due to a bad experience with my child's old dentist. This was all pre-Covid. Since Covid has happened for precautionary reasons my appointment was canceled and rescheduled for September which I completely understood. I've waited since January until September to get my child's teeth cleaned and I was informed that because he is over five (hes 9)that I cannot go back to the clinic area with him. I called the office and ask if they can make a one time exception and I will wear my N 95 mask if I could go back to the clinic with him ,because he does not feel comfortable being without me at the doctors office. I was told no ....I asked for a supervisor to see if he could just be a one time courtesy. She transferred me and the supervisor stated the same that I am not allowed back. I explain to her I had this experience with his old dentist I am letting you now it's not going to work so I'm asking please as this one time since I have been waiting all year. I also explained I am in healthcare and I'm fully aware of the CDC guidelines and will follow them by all means necessary. I'm just asking to be in the back during his visit that I have waited for nine months. She repeated herself he could come to the office but that I will not be allowed back and then I asked if she could ask the doctor and she advised me no. My issue is I am explaining to you that this will not work with my child and you're still telling me no so what option am I left with to accommodate my child and also also get his teeth cleaned?. She made me feel as if I was purposely lying to her during these times just so I could wiggle my way to the back. I know my child.. why would I put him in a situation knowing that it's not going to work just to prove to the office that he isn't comfortable. ? My options were to cancel my appointment or reschedule after Covid. So here I am after nine months now looking for a new dentist for him. Loved the dentist loved the office not the manager. There was no leniency there was no understanding there was no compassion it was simply put as bring your child to the office so I could see he's not comfortable and then I will allow you as if my word as a parent isn't sufficient. I also run office and in situations like these we will allow one parent or one caregiver to come back with the patient if they let us know ahead of time which is what I was doing and to my dismay they still didn't work. Loganville location- Took my son here for a simple procedure today. He was traumatized by the staff and their lack of compassion. Upon taking the sedation medicine he was led to a room by a nurse who blatantly ignored my concerns on the effectiveness of the sedation. She began to strap him down as he was screaming help me and she assured me he would calm down eventually.. no at this rate he was going to have an actual panic attack. He was terrified. I made her unstrap him until he had calmed down and the medicine was becoming effective. The dentist came in a few minutes later after the laughing gas seemed to start working and assured me he was fine and told me I could wait in the waiting room and if he was to get even a little upset again they would stop and we could choose another course of action. I did and then the nurse came out mid way and told me he was fine and they were finishing up. By the time it was over I walked in and saw the look in my sons eyes showing me he had not been okay.. they also said he was too resistant and could not complete the work and I would need to come back.. if he was struggling, screaming and crying in fear and terrified and resisting then why did they not stop and schedule another date where he could be properly sedated like she had assured me would happen? Now he has a huge swollen lip, burst blood vessels all over his face and in one of his eyes. I called and they didn't seem concerned with my son or the concerns I have. Dr. Kwon is not our regular dentist. We were referred here for special dental work on my 11-year-old daughter. She needed a stainless steel crown put on a baby tooth. After numbing her up, they didn't wait very long before going straight into the dental work. My daughter started screaming and crying out in pain, arching her back in the chair. They stopped to ask if it hurt, she said yes, but they kept telling her it shouldn't hurt and continuing with the dental work. After a few times I asked the dentist if she was sure it was completely numb, and she replied by telling me that it was numb, but that my daughter was being over-sensitive because she was nervous. I tried to trust the dentist's expertise and not be an over sensitive parent, and let the work continue. Over the course of the next several minutes, this dentist continued work on my daughter, ignoring her cries and screams, and tears rolling her down her cheeks (mind you, my daughter is 11). Another hygienist even had to come into the room asking if everything was alright in here. I should have been more assertive during the procedure, and I regret it now. My daughter just had to endure getting her tooth drilled and crown put on, feeling the entire thing, because the dentist was to insensitive to stop and make sure my daughter was comfortable, even offer more anesthetic, if possible. This is a Pediatric Dentist. No child should have this kind of experience at any dentist, let alone a Pediatric Dentist. This was very disappointing for us after having so many friends in the community rave about Dr. Kwon. read more

Up until these last 2 visits, I have been considerably pleased with the employees and Dr. Kwon. The new process to check in patients with the assistant taking them to the back to the hygienists is quite impersonal and unpleasantly scripted - bazaar, really. I do like all the employees as always; however, I do hope this practice does not continue to become more impersonal as these last 2 visits have reflected. It is one of the practice's major draws and it will be a great detriment for it to continue down this path. read more

I have several children and they have all seen different dentists at Kwon Pediatric Dentistry. I actually like the helpers bringing back the kids, but we never experience anything different. It's sort of like having a hostess take you to your table.The hygienists, techs, and helpers are great and always really sweet, but I do have to work at not being irritated by the cold manners of most of the front desk and check out people though. I never enter or leave feeling as happy with the service as I am when we are in the treatment area. This practice is definitely a busy one, but we've never felt rushed. I am also a bit leery of dentists prescribing procedures unnecessarily either for financial gain, or due to lack of skill or experience. I do not feel that is the case here as one of my children had to have a fairly large procedure and they actually ended up doing less than they had originally quoted. All in all a good experience and we will continue going back as long as I can continue to tolerate the less than stellar service from the desk staff. read more
