So popular in fact that you need to book a month in advance at least, more during peak periods like Christmas. If you do manage to get a booking, you will be impressed by how clean and fluffy your pooch looks when you pick him up. The trade mark bandanna around his neck is also a cute touch. If you need to leave Fido there for the day after he has been groomed, there is no problem as there is a dog minding service for just such an occasion - capacity is limited though so you will need to book ahead. Murphy's also sells high end dog food, bedding, collars, treats and toys.

It's clear to see she was nicked / grazed by the clippers - which you'd definitely hope wouldn't happen at a professional groomers, but worse is that they tried to pass it off as not their fault. Not only that, the staff seem to know their stuff when it comes to asking questions about products, and often they have a personal anecdote and recommendation about what they do for their own pets. I've got a decent number of pets - two Bengal cats, a fairly young puppy, and a turtle named Neil. As you would imagine, I spend a bit of cash when it comes to looking after them all. Since Petstock opened in Vermont South, they've saved me a small fortune - as much as 25% on some items, and that's not on sale either. And thanks to them, Neil gets a steady stream of feeder fish instead of (or sometimes in addition to) those horrible frozen fish pellets. Neil likes the fish so much that he's adopted two of them, and one of those is now nearly big enough to need his own tank. If you're a breeder of domestic pets (my wife and I used to breed Bengals), they stock super large bags (like 15-25kg) of cat and dog food, and if they don't have it, they're happy to order it in. They also offer services like puppy school, and they have a good rewards program for loyal customers.

When I picked up my dog an hour later after clipping there was no explanation or apology. They happily charged me $65 and let me have the dry doggie treat I chose for free (20c). I've been there a few times but they never remember my name or My dog. I can tell they are not really pet lovers at all, but just see every customer like a walking wallet. The best pet store owner sold her business Pet Station years ago. I wish she'd come back because nobody genuinely cares about animals the way she did.

City Pets isn't like other pet stores, sure there are animals inside but I haven't ever seen any puppies and I've seen kittens there once - and that was a couple of years ago. City Pets has rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and birds. What City Pets is good for is stocking up on supplies for your companion. Enormous mounds of dog and cat food, beds and travel houses of all shapes and colours, and a deli devoted to different bones and catnip mice are all found here. The staff there are pretty friendly and don't seem to mind if you just have a browse through the stock and check out the animals. There are also some mice and hermit crabs up the back and City Pets always seems to have a great little range of canaries, finches and budgies.
