Sure, there is a ton of stuff here and I like supporting local businesses, but there's a lot to be desired for a shopping experience. First, the parking situation. There is a lot behind the building which you get to by a gravel paved road, not very good if you need to wheel around a toddler on a stroller. Second, the store itself is cramped with very little space in the aisles. I didn't really get a sense that it was organized in a sensible manner. Sure the first thing you think when you walk in the door is dump. But take a deep breath and carve yourself a path. Treasures abound and for the most part the prices are great, especially if you are looking for clothing on the cheap. Most of the baby clothing is in the $2-$3 range. I have picked up several like new products for amazing prices and her trade in rate is wonderul. Much like a thrift store it can be hit and miss. If you are looking for something specific just call and ask the ladies while busy as all get out are always wiling to help. Now that I'm a mom, regularly shopping second-hand for kid stuff, I have to knock them back a star. Their stuff is not in as good of condition as other places, but they charge just as much. You'd think at least wiping down an item to be sold (for 50% more than they paid for it) would be in order! The mess can be kind of fun, but they rearrange so often that they can't even find things themselves half the time. Hate to be petty, but the country music radio is annoying, too - definitely decreases my shopping time. This is still my neighborhood spot, but I've been using the Goodwill more lately and getting way better stuff at way better prices. read more

Zero star for this place if I could. The lady straight up ignored me and my two little ones as we walked in. No customer service or basic human courtesy. But at the same time she was so cordial with one other customer she was with and happily greeted the other one that walked in literally right before us. We stood in the store waiting for a few minutes while she was re-organizing their stuff outside. I had to come out to wait another minute or two before she acknowledged me and finally asked "is there something I could help you with". We love Kym's! The folks working there were so friendly and helpful, which is a breath of fresh air from other baby stores that often have their nose in the air. I was expecting it to be a lot more disorganized and cluttered based on other reviews and tales from fellow parents, but we found the place to be relatively organized given the volume of stuff that's available. And you can't beat the prices!! It's so great to have a resource like Kym's to make baby and children's goods accessible to everyone and to have the options to reuse and reduce our consumption. I bought all my daughter's outdoor play structures here at different times. They were upfront about exchange policies and everything was in the condition they stated. This is not a posh place but they usually have quite a few things for outdoor play. My daughter really loves the play house and climber we bought there recently. You are getting what you pay for and can get a lot of what you need in one stop. No hassling with Craigslist and people don't get back to you or driving to different people's houses. Don't go to Target! Support local business instead! This is a great store with lots of creative and fun toys for kids, both new and used. Some of the outdoor playstuff like little houses, kitchens, and slides are very used and you can definitely tell they've provided lots of fun in the past. But kids really don't care that much, and they're going to get dirty anyhow, so why not? They also have a great selection of brand new items inside--games, art supplies, clothes, etc.... And the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only real drawback is that there's not a parking lot. So just park on 15th Ave and get a little exercise. :) read more

I almost wish I can offer them my organizational skills cuz they would make bank if they had more space to show case some of the good stuff. I really love going to Kym's Kiddie Corner! My kids love going there too! They give you fair prices for your items or a credit to use in their store. However they recently politely informed me that I now need to call and make an appointment for selling my items which isn't as convenient but I'll deal. Old and new stuff. Great winter clothes hats and jackets. They do bring their outside stuff in nightly now but they are so over packed there back room is a bit damp and stuff is moldy back there but they get stuff in all the time it's impossible not to find something, not so possible to find just what you need. I have been going here for about a year now. They are under new ownership and a lot of improvements have been made. I went in today and the place was organized, decluttered and clean. The owner was super friendly and accommodating, great customer service. I love selling here because it is hassle free. No appointment was necessary and I got my store credit right away, no waiting in line. I got a great store credit value for the items I brought in. I buy almost all the kid stuff I need at consignment or thrift stores and I have to say that although Kym's is the closest store to me, I don't go there often. They do have a lot of stuff, but there are a few things that keep me shopping further afield. First, there is no parking, which is a drag if you're buying something larger or if you've got small kids in tow. Sometimes, if it's raining hard, I park in the lot behind them, which appears to be for the building next to them. I know I'm not supposed to, but I've never been towed or ticketed. Second, you can't bring a stroller in because there are a bunch of stairs up to the door. Third, everything is so crammed into the store, it takes quite a while to find things. The used toys in the front of the store are piled high and deep, so you have to take many out and put them on the floor to see the rest. I found after the first visit that it's really hard to go there with a toddler, so I only go if I can go alone, which is rare. I don't see many kids in there when I go either, so I'm guessing that others have drawn the same conclusion. On the other hand, you can get some real deals there. I needed a double umbrella stroller and found one there for $25! Granted, it was moldy and hadn't been cleaned (food stuck to it, mud on bottom), but I took it apart, washed the fabric, and soaked all the parts in the bathtub and it was pretty nice after that. Overall, if you don't mind the parking issue, you can go w/o young kids or a stroller, and you don't mind that most of the used stuff is pretty grubby, Kym's is a cheap alternative to some of the nicer consignment places. If you want a place that is fun and easy to go with kids, where they have a train table to play with, and most of the merchandise is clean and in good repair, try Me 'n Moms in Ballard. There were a lot of things priced to go on the day I went. All of their clothes were just $1 and they had a second building in the back that was all $1. We got 3 levels of Hooked on Phonics for a screaming deal. I take a star away because we were headed there for bikes, but they weren't in great shape and set out in the rain to rust. I really like this place! Since the new ownership took over, they really have improved a lot! They have great, new items like Melissa and Doug stuff and cool cube type puzzles too! It's a must stop for sport gear, jackets snow pants and more. I always walk out with something! First of all, we called to ensure they had jogging strollers for sale...and was told yes. It was pooring down rain and all her strollers were getting soaked. Which of course made them wet, soggy, moldy, and dirty, not to mention they may rust. Her place is Jam packed full of stuff. Mostly used some new. Like others, I agree its filthy in there. The clothes are more than used. Its hard to move around in there...Im glad I didnt have my daughter. My final complaint is the lady insulted my husband and I, while buying a pair of shoes. She told the young boy who worked there "to go make sure the jogging strollers were locked up" as if we planned on stealing one. I will never go back there and will make sure to tell everyone how trashy she is. If you want a nice cosignment store with friendly staff there is just for kids in Everett...lots of NICE, CLEAN stuff in there as well as Mama Go Round. read more

Just a cold shoulder. Their items are left outside, thus items are filthy and sun-bleached and over-priced. I tried multiple times and multiple ways to contact this business and had no luck. The owner read my messages and completely ignored me. Then posted countless items in multiple platforms for sale. Being in my 3rd trimester I didn't want to carry in things if she wasn't interested and instead of taking the time to respond I was blown off. What a terrible way to run a small business. I have bought quite a few things from this place; all of which were dirty and faded but I overlooked this because of the fact it was a secondhand store. You kind of expect it as well when you walk up and as you enter the business because it's pretty filthy. I have two kids and this is my FIRST go to place when I need something for my girls. It is a consignment/thrift shop in my neighborhood, and it can be hit or miss. The staff and NEW owner are amazing and I have always had a great experience with them. If they do not have something they have taken my name down and if that thing comes in that I requested (albeit not an urgent item) they call. The prices of the consigned/used goods ranges depending on quality and quantity they have in the shop. I love supporting this local business, and happily pay their prices (as everything we have gotten seems fair enough) and support the little community shop. read more

I've been to quite a few children's resale stores over the years, and have seen examples of pleasant, well-run stores; stores you want nothing to do with; and stores with potential that unfortunately don't live up to what they could be. Kyms Kiddie Corner falls into the latter category. Pros: their location is large; they stock many different items, including some larger gear; the young girl (teen?) who was there both times I visited is pretty friendly. Cons: the quality of their used stock is, in general, pretty low; their outdoor items don't look cared for; and they are overly picky with what they'll take as trade-in items, even though what they're selling isn't half as nice as what you have to offer. They sell many new items as well (at full price), scattered throughout the store, and after a while I began to feel like they were strategically putting out really ratty used items so that customers would end up choosing new things instead (that happened to me, anyway!). In some cases, it seems like they simply need to take a few minutes to regularly clean up their items - they store many things outside and let them get loose dirt on them, but don't bother to wipe them down with a rag. I was especially disappointed on my second visit. I had noticed all their larger gear on my first visit, and thought I would have no problem finding an Exersaucer for my baby. However, as I started looking closely at the many examples littered throughout the store (maybe 10 or so?), not one was in decent enough shape to consider purchasing - and I'm not really all that picky. Each one for sale there was either truly grimy and/or missing a part. I ended up going on Craig's List instead and finding a gently used Exersaucer, clean and with all parts still intact, for $40. read more

Really bad customer service, and often very dirty or damaged products. I bought an item and when I got it home I found out it was broken. The owner was extremely rude to my wife and I and only would offer store credit. For a broken item this is ridiculous! The store credit expires in 30 days... is that even legal. The owner is totally rude. Products are priced weird during sales, it may say 40% off, but then she'll explain off the original retail price (which isn't even shown in the item). Feels very scammy. Most things are overpriced or dirty. I hope they go out of business. read more

I was looking for a pair of jeans 3t for my son and I couldn't find any, the pants they go there were like "abused" condition, not just gently used. Wanted to buy Little Tikes adjustable hoop, they wanted $20 for it with no ball and I found it for sale at Toys R Us for $24. I hate buying new but not worth over-paying for used items. As far as thriftstores go...Items are definitely overpriced, poorly organized, dirty. Many items are so "used" that I would not take them for free let alone pay $10.00 for them. Toys, carseats, clothes are everywhere; on the floor, outside. Definitely not appealing to a buyer when it comes to buying for my children. read more

Kym's Kiddy Corner has helped outfit our family and friends for many years. We were able to trade in outgrown items and the kids picked out new ones. Very helpful for the first 5 years of babyhood!! Then we were able to sell outgrown things back for Money! You gotta like that! very happy to have a store like this around. I think we should all recylcle and reuse. read more
