Love this spot, always such a treat to pop in and I always feel at ease when I walk in the door. At first I thought the items were a bit spendy however after thinking about it....it's a consignment store, they only take quality items that aren't terribly worn, it's less than I would have spent if the item was new and I'm not putting anything new into the environment. On the owner many people have posted about...I think she's great. She greets you from behind the counter when you walk in and lets you do your shopping. It actually really turns me off from a store when an employee is asking me 3+ times if I need anything. So I appreciate her directness and efficiency. And according to the yelp bio, she's a mom of 3 so I can guarantee you she's got the efficIency thing down pat. read more

Rather than informing us that the store was closing at 6pm, the associate began vacuuming at 5.58pm. I had communicated that I wanted to buy 2 pairs of shoes but was not only unassisted by either of the associates but rushed out to leave because "It is 6pm" the shoes that I purchased (in time for their schedule) rang up with an extra discount and they took significant time to cancel that discount even though I think the shoes had another markdown. Completely unprofessional and not the store I remember from years past. I left very disappointed. read more

I really want to like this place and support it, but they make it WAY too difficult to drop off consignments. I have gone in 5 times now on the correct days (only Sunday or Thurs) to be told they are "overwhelmed" and can't look at anything I have. I'll find another place to consign going forward. read more

My daughter had outgrown size 10s, so I called around and found one pair of size 11s here. My daughter had their heart set on silver, so I specifically told the two sales employees present that I might need to return them if I couldn't talk my daughter into gold. They promised (literally said, "I promise") that I could do so. They also offered a pair of silver that were consigned and badly used. I knew my daughter would not want used ones and politely declined. I took them home, and my daughter tried them on - too small. They didn't even fit on her foot. Okay, no problem, right? I will return them. So I went to return them, where the salesperson repeatedly inspected the soles ("You sure you didn't wear them outside?" No, in fact, my friend was over with her little one who was going to inherit my daughter's old shoes, and when these didn't fit, both the kids were crying; it was awful, not even on the foot and of course not outside the house....) They're bright white soles. If you wear them just ten feet outside the door, they'll be completely grey. They're still completely white. There was no way these shoes had remotely been worn outside. Then they decided there was a "grease stain" on the side of one shoe. I said huh? We didn't even notice it. I did tell the sales person that we did notice that the shoes had no cardboard or tissue paper stuffing, and no tissue paper wrapping them either, when we opened them at home. The sales person backtracked, saying, "Well it could have been a defect or from someone else. I'm not blaming you..." and yet - she refused to return them. She instead offered to consign them to the store. What?! The store profited off the sale, and now they want me to sell them at a steep discount and have the store profit again?! I said no. Honestly at that point it felt like this whole thing was very fishy. She then called the owner, who said they would take them for store credit. No way! I do not want to buy anything else from that store and take the risk that there will be something the sales person admits could just have been a defect but still not return them. What is clear to me is that someone else bought those shoes and returned them, and the store didn't notice the issue - or they were tried on and not purchased but always defective. Either way, I have learned that 1) this store will not stand behind its merchandise, so BUYER BEWARE: inspect everything you buy from this store; do not assume a new box of shoes is actually that even if you specifically confirm they're new because your kid won't wear the used ones. 2) Either they were lying when they said it could be a defect or they were not blaming me, or they refuse to take back products that were not damaged by me. Either is pretty upsetting. Especially after I even shared a personal story with them, it was particularly offensive. I do not recommend this store. It's been ten years since I last wrote a yelp review; you can see this has really upset me. read more

I was excited to visit Three Little Birds during 4th of July weekend (2014). The shop is nice, however the owner wasn't friendly, and she was less helpful than I expected. Shop proprietors are generally wonderful in West Seattle, but my experience at Jennifer Young's shop was less than ideal and that's why I'm writing this review. I did find what I was looking for, which was nice. And at a good price. But, due to her offish manor, I'll only go back if I'm in desperate need for something. Moms should be really nice to each other, and that's what I expect when I go into a children's consignment shop in my own neighborhood. Update: I returned to this shop the last week of July 2014, and had the same experience with the owner. This time she at least said hello to me first, but didn't offer assistance when I was clearly combing through basket in my search. And she yelled at her own young child while I was there! Given her behavior, I don't understand her supposed passion for owning a child-centric small business! read more

My first time stopping by this store was in the afternoon on 4/25. The selection as well as the quality of most items was good. I was pleased with the pricing as well, especially their clearance onesies they are only 50 cents each! I had my infant in his car seat with me. The store is small so I think it would've been hard to navigate with a stroller. I'm giving this only 4 stars because while I was there, the woman working made a really loud banging sound with whatever she was moving/organizing and it woke up my little one. He's good with loud ambient noise but this loud bang that she made startled both of us. read more

I browsed this store today and saw some really great things. I can't help but chuckle at the reviews on here about the owner not being warm and fuzzy. I don't know if it was the owner I was greeted by today or not. Yes she was cool, (as in not overly warm) but I wasn't expecting a hug or cup of cocoa when I arrived. The furniture was nice quality. There were a few bassinets and strollers that I actually saw on craigslist first. The clothing I saw (only checked out newborn) was surprisingly inexpensive. So the staff here is hit or miss. First experience here was a 5 star, great service from a lady with an accent. However, the second attempt to check out this shop ended before we got in the door when we found out they have winter hours posted in small print on the door that are different then the large ones prominently displayed. The woman was completely unapologetic to the two of us holding our newborn. She stated they close early since it gets dark and they walk home, we then watch her lock the front door and get into a car. Talk about leaving a sour taste in your mouth! Great little store! Stopped in to look for preemie cloths. The kind woman apologized for not having much in that size, but set off to see what she could find. Both my daughter and myself were impressed with the stores selection oh clothing, shoes, toys and baby equipment. We did find a quilt set that was perfect for her new nursery. The set was missing some items, and when I pointed this out, the woman kindly offered an additional 15% discount. Very good customer service ! My daughter will likely shop her often, as it's close to her home. read more

I love this shop! The clothes are cute, affordable, and the location is great. I think the owner is a perfect mix of friendly and leaves me alone to shop. I don't prefer people asking me if I need help when I'm clearly doing fine. I've bought toys and clothes for my infant and five year old and will do so again. read more

Stopped in to My Three Little Birds today with two totes and my two year old in tow from the Eastside today. Was excited to discover a new "higher end" kids consignment store via Red Tricycle! Walked in and asked if there was time to go through my things (which included an Orla Kiely diaper bag, a Hanna Andersson dino back pack and matching lunch bag, and clothing from Mini Boden, Peek, Little Marc Jacobs, etc.). Website did say if they didn't have the time they would do so within a couple of weeks. Was told by the owner that she was not accepting anymore clothing until after September 15th because she had too much inventory. That would be good information to post online (the store is on Facebook and has a website). I was a little peeved that I had made the trek for nothing. I would suggest calling ahead if you have items to bring in. I could see how other reviewers perceived the owner as "unfriendly". Honestly she just seems like a very busy mom of 3 trying to run a business with a lot on her plate. Definitely not the warm and inviting type, but once I got to chatting with her she seemed friendly enough. I decided to take a look since I was there. It is a cute shop with a really cute play area that my daughter enjoyed checking out while I poked around. Was relatively well organized. I was surprised to see brands such as Carters and Old Navy there. Not my idea of high end. However I did find a cute Peek tee for $6, a pair of hot pink Toothpick denim from Crewcuts for $10 and an adorable dress from Mini Boden for $14, so it wasn't a total loss. Cute shop with a decent higher end selection, but I have to say I favor a higher end kids consignment store to the north which carries nothing but truly upper scale kids labels for great prices and are always ready to go through your items! read more

I have been in this store several times and have had nothing but great experiences. My favorite is when I stop by on my walk with my baby and was looking for a Bumbo. They didn't have one which is no big deal. I walked by a week later on my normal walk and the girl working, not the owner that day, saw me walk by and popped her head out to mention they got one in. My husband went in for the 1st time to see if we can sell 3 vtech learning/activity stations and a bouncer. He was told that he would get notified when they sell. A couple of the items were missing a piece and my husband was told to get them before they can sell it. This was in December and my husband completely forgot to grab the missing piece. He wasn't notified at all and just last month, he went to check on everything and they told him they donated it. This is horrible, no call no email nothing, not even a call to say we sold our bouncer and you have a $16 credit. Really? Jenny the manager kept ignoring my husband in the store when he was trying to understand why he never got a call or email. She was very rude, unprofessional and a disappointment to him. I called and left a message, she never returned my call and then I finally was able to reach her. She basically said she donated the rest without our approval. She said she needed to think about how to resolve this which she never reached out. This place is a joke!! Bad customer service from The owner. No resolution and compassion! read more

My Three Little Birds is truly the most darling children's store around and has the best selection of clothing, toys and gifts. I love the great kids' play area so I can shop in peace and my girls enjoy being there. It's good to pop in often since their inventory changes so frequently, you never know what kind of fun things you will find. Definitely worth stopping in! read more

As a mom of a 7 yr old girl and almost 5 yr old son, I don't really shop consignments anymore. I stopped in to My Three Little Birds because I like to support local business (especially working mothers) and I was quite pleasantly surprised at what I saw. The shop is quite large, spacious with lots of light and well laid out. The play room in the back (which is not simply an afterthought but a well designed, clean & functional room), was an extra bonus which kept my kids occupied. In addition to consignment, there are also new items, which I always find to be a nice plus. The owner, Jennifer, was pleasant and helpful. She managed to work with a few customers at a time, but always came back to check on me. I don't like an owner, especially in a small store, to hover over me while I shop and I felt Jennifer struck a nice balance of letting me know she's there without being underfoot. Besides scoring a super cute jacket for my 7 yr old, I spied quite a few gift ideas for people I know having babies in the next few months. The used shoe selection was quite abundant and one I'll have to check out more fully on my next trip. All in all score one for West Seattle -- this shop is a true gem!! read more

I passed by the shop this afternoon on my way to my new house down the street, being new to Seattle and new to the area, I decided to stop in and check it out. There was a brunette woman sitting at the counter, who I assume is the owner. She did not greet me nor acknowledge me. I approached her to simply ask how her shop worked, if it was resell and/or consignment. She responded with an annoyed tone and no smile. I will mention, she was eye balls deep in paperwork so I was clearly bothering her. Regardless, it left a bad taste in my mouth and made me feel extremely unwelcome. Needless to say, if I do have any kids stuff I want to get rid of or in need of, I won't be coming here. First impressions are everything! From reading other reviews, it seems I'm not the first person to experience the chill. read more

I wanted to like this place! The storefront was very cute. The first time I attempted to go in, a week after their scheduled opening date, they were not yet open. No problem. The second time I went in the lady working was rude and pretty much ignored me. Again, not a major problem, I am fine with browsing by myself. I was very excited that this was supposed to be an upscale consignment shop. Maybe my idea of upscale is different? I was expecting brands such as Mini Boden, Janie and Jack, etc... Instead I saw Circo, Old Navy, and Carters, and the prices were fairly high for these brands! Because the store was new I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I waited about 4 months and attempted to go in yet a third time. This time I looked at their website first. I noticed they were accepting consignments. I had several high end items (mostly Mini Boden from this year and last year's collections, Ralph Lauren, and even Burberry) that my son had either not worn or had outgrown and were gently used. Many with tags! I walked in, and again the lady behind the desk was not friendly. I asked if she was interested in consignments. She said they were not taking them at this time (updating the website to reflect this would be great). No problem, your loss. I decided to look around a little and see if things had changed. Unfortunately they had not. Mostly Carters items were on the racks. I did see one old Mini Boden shirt for $9. It was worn, and definitely from several seasons ago. This was pretty shocking to me since you can buy nicer and brand new shirts directly from the Boden site for $13 on sale with free shipping. I will not be going back a fourth time and have warned our PEPs group, friends and family, etc... that if they truly do want high end and good customer service items do not shop here. read more
