Yummmy soft serve matcha! It's one of the best I've had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location definitely has a lot of sit-down visitors and I wish it was bigger so we didn't feel guilty sitting and eating ice cream for 30 or so mins![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is my favorite spot for ice cream. It's the perfect level and sweet and they always give you so much ice cream. The staff are friendly and the ice cream always comes out quickly. I've tried a few drinks and pastries but my favorite item is still the ice cream! The parfait is yummy too but sometimes it's a lot for one person to finish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only thing is that it can be hard to find seating during busier times as there are only a few tables inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Some of the best matcha ice cream you can get! Love the vanilla-matcha swirl for a bit more sweetness from the vanilla. You can also add toppings; we love the mochi! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was pretty busy on a Saturday evening, so seating was difficult to find.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But otherwise the ordering process is self-service and very quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Indoor seating only, to-go option available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The parfait with the matcha and milk soft serve swirl was delicious!

I'm shocked I haven't reviewed Kyoto Matcha yet but I went after having not gone for a while and I was so glad. Their soft serve matcha and milk swirl is absolutely amazing- creamy but not overly so and not too sweet. I got the parfait and it was big enough to share for two or as a solo dessert. The mochi was super chewy and also not too sweet. The soft serve was truly the star though. The service was helpful and prompt with the food preparing and [[HIGHLIGHT]]there were spaces appropriate for small and large groups![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This time I tried the matcha milk cap cake, and a matcha cream puff. Ok maybe it was an overload of matcha, but I wasn't a fan of the milk cap cake. It was like a matcha sponge cake with matcha milk tea poured on top and I thought it was kind of gross. I wasn't happy paying $11 for that. The matcha cream puff was good though. Next time I'll go back to my usual matcha towel cake!

This is one of my go-to dessert shops! Their matcha ice cream and boba cap cakes are my favorite. The staff is always friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the shop is very well decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is also very clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and [[HIGHLIGHT]]has nice (and not too loud!) music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A quaint little dessert/cafe spot, it serves up really delicious soft serve that I always stop by to get. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean interior that is nicely decorated, the service is a kiosk and everything comes out quick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend the place if you like matcha desserts and ice cream!

Matcha-licious . -Matcha Crepe Layer Cake - flawless balance of sweet cream and matcha. -Matcha Nama Chocolate - delectably rich. -Towel Cake - wonderful presentation, fun to unwrap but not quite as sweet as anticipated. Simple dessert of matcha crepe layers wrapped around azuki beans...that's all. . Favorite matcha dessert cafe when the cravings are real. The interior design, ambiance, and friendly service feels just like the dessert cafes back at home in Hawaii - a pleasant, peaceful, and tasteful Japanese dessert take. . cheers (:

Adorable dessert spot with treats worth the splurge! I tried the cheesecake and the ube towel cake (think crepes and cream)--both were amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior has a super cute Japanese vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely worth checking out!

I love Kyoto Matcha , I enjoy visiting all of their locations. I'm super excited about the location opening up in Columbia.MD soon. You just can't get enough matcha. The cashier's are always friendly and its such a tasty treat no more the occasion or time of year. My husband and I love to get the match soft serve ice-cream with the milli layer matcha cake crepe. We also love the Matcha Float with matcha tea base...50% sugar lol I don't like my matcha too sweet and this place offers the perfect balance of sweet and earthy deliciousness. You can even sit down inside and enjoy quality time with friends and loved while and share treats lol At this location parking is pretty good. It's location in a shopping plaza with other cool shops to look into.

I have to do an update, bc I've gone back to try a few things and now I really like this place! I've gotten the parfaits with matcha and also with milk cream, and really enjoyed them both. I like how they layer it with red bean, green tea cake and topped with mochi balls. They usually also include corn flakes, but I get it without. They service is so nice, that they are happy to customize the order. The place is cute, showcasing all their desserts. I'll be back soon!

Kyoto Matcha is one of my favorite dessert spots in the DMV. I love the matcha soft serve, ube bubble tea, and the matcha cake roll. I crave these desserts, they are always fresh and hit the spot every time. You order your desserts on the kiosk in front of the store and they will call your number once your order is ready. This spot has plenty of parking.

Love visiting the Rockville location for dessert after dinner and I had to check out this location since I was in the area. Much like its sister location, there were a variety of match desserts and Asian inspired desserts. The matcha didn't taste artificially sweet and had perfect natural matcha flavor. All the desserts were very balanced and sweetness. I love trying all the different desserts every time I come and my favorite so far is the milk cap cake. The crepe cake was also very good.

Do speak English well and/or have ingredient information? I have multiple food allergies and I would love to come check them out since I love matcha, but it can be a challenge with language barriers. Thanks!

Did you just assume that they didn't speak English because it's a Japanese establishment? Yes they speak English. They are quite impressive with answering all questions about their products. I highly recommend it.

Across the highway from the Ellicott City, Maryland location of Tous Les Jour, Shilla Bakery might very well also be described as "undersold," but its mocha roll cakes (and other flavors too) and fried twist donuts are both memorable and great for sharing, if you can resist the temptation to hoard them for yourselves.

There were flavors such as strawberry, mocha, Nutella or white cream to name a few. My favorite is their red bean filled doughnut. I wished I lived closer but maybe it's a good idea I didn't. The birthday cake I went for was a Chocolate Cream...the cake had 3 layers of a light chiffon with buttercream frosting and did not taste overly sweet. They were able to place a Happy Birthday greeting on the spot and packed it in a beautiful box to easily carry home.

It's a smallish space and indoor seating was really full at 11 AM on a weekday. Because of rain, the outdoor benches were not in use, and I saw closed-up patio-umbrellas too. I ordered from a kiosk or you could order online or in person. I got the bacon egg and cheese croissant and it was made quickly by welcoming staff. It was a regular size croissant with very light cheese and a layer of crispy bacon pieces in a well toasted croissant. The flavor was good. This café also sells a number of beverages, including fresh ground espresso, and various teas And they sell some bakery goods, candies, and quite a variety of dry-packaged teas and coffee. The parking right in front Café Jun can get pretty full, but there's plenty parking in the rest of the shopping center. It's pre-sweetened so no need to add extra vanilla syrup or anything. This does not taste like a traditional matcha, which in my opinion tastes like dirt. This is a sweeter, dessert like matcha. I didn't care for the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It was kind of dry and it tasted like something was missing. The croffle was amazing. It has a nutty, pecan like taste to it and it was topped with vanilla gelato and blueberries. I couldn't really taste the maple syrup but it was delicious nonetheless.
