I've been a regular at LA Nails for dip manicures for the past year. The salon policy is any chips/broken nails within the first two weeks of a dip manicure is fixed, no cost and no questions asked. In a year, I've only taken them up on this twice. My nails last twice as long here than other salons in the area. Another plus is the salon policy is to honor appointments over walk-ins. The other day, I came in as a walk in and the nail tech who first greeted me took the time to apologize for the wait and explain they have to honor appointments first. I've been on the other side of this scenario and it's nice to see it is consistent. He was extremely polite and I was happy to wait. I love LA nails. They honestly are the only place who does my nails right every single time. No one has cut me, they offer an extra coat of polish if needed, and they don't pressure you into extra services. Just a good place to get a no fuss mani-pedi. They can usually fit you in as a walk-in unless it's a busy time of the year. The cost of a mani-pedi has gone up in the past 3 years, but what hasn't? Cindy is the best. I moved about 20 miles west and tried a bunch of places near my new house. I had either nail damage because of how they prepared the nails or dips/no-chips that didn't last. Now I make the drive to Glen Ellyn to see Cindy. My last manicure was SIX WEEKS ago and, aside from a big gap at my cuticle line because of growth, they still look great. I have had my nails done at this salon a number of times and no matter which technician works with you, you are guaranteed quality work! This time I had Eric. My sister-in-law Karen and I went here for pedicures on a lazy Saturday. We got there around 4 p.m. and were told to return a little after 5 p.m., which allowed me to check out other places in downtown Glen Ellyn, such as the Bells & Whistles Snackery (see my review), so I didn't really mind. This little place is hopping and the ladies that run the place are superfriendly and willing to work you in even two minutes before closing time. While we were there they told one would be patron that Sunday hours are about to go away, which we think is in preparation for the winter season. However, I would recommend going earlier in the day if you don't want to wait. My pedicurist's name was Helen and I highly recommend her. She was very thorough, and gave me a great leg massage and pedicure. Last, but definitely not the least, the place is clean and the pedicure was only $25.00 read more

I have always struggled trying to find a salon I like enough to return to but I have returned to this salon again and again for almost a year. The staff at LA Nails are attentive and pay very close attention to detail, and I have had multiple technicians do my nails. They do a marvelous job at no chip manicures (with and without embellishments) and spa pedicures in addition to taking walk-ins quickly. They are very clean, have lots of Essie & OPI colors, have current magazines, lots of no-chip brands, and are accommodating if you are in a rush. Yay! For only $13 and the biggest selection of nail polish I've ever seen in my LIFE, this will probably be my new go-to place for manicures. They're quick, polite, and professional. I'd recommend to make an appointment, though. They're pretty much always busy. If you aren't aiming to get the full spa experience, but also don't want the awful hurried experience filled with painful chit chat and fluorescent lighting that you get from other nail salons in this price range, check this place out. Their manicures are very basic and timely. I was blown away by the atmosphere, the service, the prices, the quality of the job done. I got a full gel set yesterday (10/16) and it looks fabulous! My technician was kind and took her time. She also listened to what I wanted my nails to look like and came up with a special nail art design. A huge issue I have with other salons is the lack of care to little details. Every time I've ever gotten my nails done I've walked away with ripped and bleeding cuticles. Yesterday I walked away with cuticles that had not even been touched. Amazing! I had dip nails done in June and they were beautiful. When I went to have them removed 10 days later, a young man used a Dremel to sand off the dip and then wrapped my nails in polish remover for 20 minutes. Did not like the sanding as it felt like my nails were on fire due to excessive sanding of the nail bed. I then received a manicure and he managed to cut the cuticles so close 3 fingers were bleeding. I sat with my nails under the UV lights for 20 minutes and went home. The polish started to bubble later that afternoon. The worst part is it has been 2 months since the dip was removed and my nails are so brittle they spilt and all have broken off. I have to keep my nails extremely short to prevent any further damage. It will probably take 6 months for the damage nails to grow out. read more

I'm not the type to leave reviews, so the fact that I am writing one says something. I have been coming to this salon for years, under previous and present ownership, and I have never been disappointed. I felt the need to leave a review after all this time because within the last year, under new ownership, I have felt more welcome than ever. The new owners came to recognize my fondness for neon nail colors and that I prefer a no-chip polish. When we casually discussed that their neon color selection was slightly limited, they explained that they were going to order new selections. Sure enough, the next time I went in for a no chip manicure, a new selection of neon colors was the first thing they showed me. I felt so special that they had remembered my request and followed through on it making it happen. The owners and technicians really make sure they are tending to their customers wants and needs. Another example of this is the way in which they provide my no-chip manicures. My cuticles grow SO fast that sometimes I struggle with them chipping the polish off at the nail bed before it is really time to get them redone (about 2 weeks). The staff at LA Nail came to realize this and therefore make sure to be EXTRA careful about maintaining my cuticles and always provide an extra layer of polish to ensure that it lasts. I'm also that client that never makes an appointment and always shows up as a walk-in, sometimes even a short time before closing time. They have never once turned me away and have even stayed past closing in order to provide me services. I moved away one year ago and still I make the 45 minute commute back to LA Nail to have them do my nails. There have been times that they were so busy that I would have to wait a long time if I stayed. One of these times, although I was not even upset, I was pleasantly surprised with a coupon card for a discount on my next service. This was simply because they felt bad that they were understaffed (which never happens) and could not accommodate me in MY timeframe that afternoon. Overall, from manicures to pedicures to waxing, the staff at LA Nail always does a fabulous job and always makes me feel like family. I OBVIOUSLY highly recommend this salon; and if I can help it, I refuse to go anywhere else. :) read more

I hate to write this review because I used to LOVE this place - it was the only nail salon I would go to because of the people and high quality services they offer. However, they have switched ownership and the past several times I have gone there, the nail polish (even no chip) is very thin and chips in just under two weeks. It used to last at least 3-4 weeks. When I was there last, Cindy did a great job on my nails, as always, but once again, the polish did not last. I have a feeling it has been thinned out too much. Very disappointing. I went with a friend last time who also got a no chip and she also said she has noticed the quality of the polish go down. I've tried more than a dozen nail places in the area and this one is by far better than the rest. The employees definitely pay attention to detail and even better, in a timely fashion. One thing that sets them above the rest is the fact that they put a coat of clear on between coats so that your nails don't chip as fast. I can't say that I've been to many places that do that. For that one reason alone, I would keep going back. The fact that they are friendly, clean, and have decent hours makes me continue to go back as well. read more

I'm pretty picky too and don't usually go to these "walk in" salons because I've had plenty of lackluster experiences at these types of salons. Not here! I was very disappointed with my experience at L.A. Nail and Spa in Glen Ellyn. After reading previous reviews, I selected this salon for an acrylic fill. The woman who did my nails was very quient and ok, however this salon lacks cleanliness and customer service. No one who worked there even said hello or good bye and the place was a mess and appeared it hadn't been cleaned in months. This place needs a visit by the Board of Health. read more

I usually polish my own nails because I can't stand a sloppy polish job. I've tried 3 different technicians here and they all do a very good polish. They are very friendly and have a good color selection. The salon could use some updates...pedi chairs, decor,etc. but won't stop me from going if I need a quick polish change. read more
