I'm fairly new to Glen Ellyn and I wanted a set of gel nails put on like I have in the past pre pandemic but done short, I showed her a picture for length and shape. I made an appointment with a senior nail tech assuming she was more experienced and not just older. It was expensive because it's now a spa too. My experience at OrigiNail Salon & Spa has been nothing short of amazing! The first time I visited was after I had moved to the Glen Ellyn area and wanted to find a nail salon closer to home. I booked an appointment online (very convenient, by the way) and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the service. The salon itself is clean, nicely decorated, and very welcoming. They play music in the background (not loud though) and have TVs muted. Overall a truly enjoyable environment to be in, especially for the time that it takes to get your nails done. Since that initial appointment, I have requested to have Tracy do my nails every time. She is so kind, patient, and accommodating, always checking-in to make sure I am happy with the results and asking if I'd like something to drink. If I am unhappy for whatever reason, she will fix my nails immediately without an additional cost. My go-to is a Dip on my fingernails and a No-Chip on my toenails. UPDATE: STILL AMAZING!! Loved this place. Will go back. Atmosphere is nice. Pedicure is wonderful especially the hot wax treatment. They have friendly staff and do a great job. Well priced. My only comment is the space is a bit cramped. They could probably make the space less cramped but would have to take out some chairs or tables. Overall it was a great experience for a reasonable price! UPDATE YOU HAVE TO GET THE PEDICURE w soak and massages. Its $60 but omg i would pay $100 read more

Walk-in service was fast - I waited about 10 minutes on a busy Friday evening. Was able to sit beside my friend who was getting a no chip while I got a dip. Nail techs were friendly and funny and so far my nails look great. We'll see how long they last but for now I'm super happy with them! I have been trying to find a nail salon in the suburbs. I have been here before, and came again to give it a second chance and won't be coming back because it is over priced, disorganized, and unprofessional. Let's start from the top. When I walked in I had no appointment. I was asked to check in and was seated. I was being pointed at several times and was talked about in regards to who is doing what for me (hands/feet). I was asked by different 3 different people if I'm doing no chip or not, even though I've stated it multiple times already. They are disorganized and I will explain again with an additional scenario as to why. Starting with my pedicure, this place is way too overpriced for what you are receiving in services. For a classic pedicure they charge $34, if you want no chip it is $20 added on. This is ridiculous pricing when it is not a luxury spa. I've been to many places before and do understand the price points/services to be received. To think if you pay that much, a exfoliating scrub would be included but the classic pedicure does not. My massage was only 2 minutes, and it wasn't really a massage. After my pedicure I was transferred to a new seat to get a no chip manicure which was $44. The technician began to do my nails, then stated to the boss that he has low energy. Then a lady technician stated she ate already and that she can take over, so they switched. Everything was said in Vietnamese, and the only reason I knew what was being stated is because I speak and understand the language. So they did not inform me or communicate with me that there was going to be a switch. I didn't mind it because of course he should eat. However, she then sees her client come in and says to one of the colleagues to tell the original person doing my nails to come back, and finish the nails because her client doesn't like to wait. This is something that should've been organized from the start. They then switched back, again no communication towards me whatsoever. My manicure was done pretty fast, I don't think it was worth $44. I didn't even get my dead skin scraped off my nails, even when I mentioned it to her. To top it off upon paying, the lady who stands at the front kept talking to the other mail nail technician and did not acknowledge my presence as I was trying to pay. I paid and asked her for change of $20, and she was still talking to the other guy. The head nail tech was standing beside her, which I believe is the boss, and he had to reminder her to give me change. She took my $20 bill and didn't even ask me what I wanted in change, and went to my nail technician that did my hands and asked him for change of 2, $10 bills, assuming I was going to tip both my technicians $10 each. In summary, the services here are not worth the money. This salon is priced at similar to luxury salon and this place does not give you luxury. You're better off spending your money at different salon, and getting more bang for your buck. read more
