I come here all the time, but after this experience I will never come to this establishment again. I rarely write reviews, but I don't want anyone else to have to go through this. I was a walk in appointment, and they told me to come back in 40 minutes. Totally understandable, so I did. When I returned, I checked in and then I sat there waiting for another 10 minutes before another woman walked in and said she also had a 6:00 appointment. The staff then told a client whose nails they were already working on that they couldn't continue her design because the woman who had just arrived had an appointment. After hearing that conversation...and knowing I had already been waiting over 20 minutes myself...I spoke up and said that I also had a 6:00 appointment. The other woman left because she was understandably frustrated, and then the staff proceeded to ignore me. I get it if they are busy, but the fact that there was no communication between any one of their employees or me was ridiculous. I finally asked how much longer they think it would be. They said they were finishing a design. (Even though they were about to stop the design to work on the nails of the woman that came in 10 minutes after me) I asked again, and they told me about 20 more minutes. So I was told to wait 40 minutes before coming back, then waited another 20 minutes after I arrived, only to be told to wait an additional 20 minutes. That's completely unacceptable and incredibly disrespectful of customers' time. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never be coming here again. read more

I'm fairly new to Glen Ellyn and I wanted a set of gel nails put on like I have in the past pre pandemic but done short, I showed her a picture for length and shape. I made an appointment with a senior nail tech assuming she was more experienced and not just older. It was expensive because it's now a spa too. When I got home and really looked at them my nails were so thick. I broke my arm a couple days after so I couldn't go back to get fixed and took them off myself. They gave me a coupon for next time but I'm not going back. read more

Got a gel manicure for the first time at this location today at 11am, by 7:15pm it was already peeling off! $44 for a gel manicure that completely peels off in a matter of hours is not okay! I paid cash, no receipt and did not get the woman's name or else would mention here. I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow or I'd march in there demanding a refund and fix. My experience at OrigiNail Salon & Spa has been nothing short of amazing! The first time I visited was after I had moved to the Glen Ellyn area and wanted to find a nail salon closer to home. I booked an appointment online (very convenient, by the way) and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the service. The salon itself is clean, nicely decorated, and very welcoming. They play music in the background (not loud though) and have TVs muted. Overall a truly enjoyable environment to be in, especially for the time that it takes to get your nails done. Since that initial appointment, I have requested to have Tracy do my nails every time. She is so kind, patient, and accommodating, always checking-in to make sure I am happy with the results and asking if I'd like something to drink. If I am unhappy for whatever reason, she will fix my nails immediately without an additional cost. My go-to is a Dip on my fingernails and a No-Chip on my toenails. I went in for a removal + new set of dip. I sat there with acetone on my nails for an hour before the removal began. I was in the salon for over an hour before my nails were removed. I ended up leaving before even getting a new set of dip nails because it took so long and my fingers/ cuticles felt raw from sitting in acetone that long. UPDATE: STILL AMAZING!! Loved this place. Will go back. Atmosphere is nice. Pedicure is wonderful especially the hot wax treatment. They have friendly staff and do a great job. Well priced. My only comment is the space is a bit cramped. They could probably make the space less cramped but would have to take out some chairs or tables. Walk-in service was fast - I waited about 10 minutes on a busy Friday evening. Was able to sit beside my friend who was getting a no chip while I got a dip. Nail techs were friendly and funny and so far my nails look great. We'll see how long they last but for now I'm super happy with them!
