GREAT CUT, GREAT STYLIST…read more I had the worst haircut in my life (I'm not kidding, it was a Helmut of doom) from another salon in the area and I called Zinc desperate for help and the owner Chris answered. I told him what was going on and he got me in the next day to see him for a pixie cut (which BTW he is a master at). I am a singer and my hair has a lot to do with my image, I felt the first salon totally took way my identity and duped me by giving me an inexperienced stylist while I was dealing with a crisis (I had to cut my hair long hair due to loss from Covid.) Chris saved the day and I will be going back.

I went to this salon after having a falling out with my old friend who was my hair stylist. I don't even know why I was torturing myself at her budget quality salon, when at a competitive price I got everything I wanted and then some. Michelle was friendly, attentive, and sensitive about my long hair. As any person with long hair knows, there are stylists who don't know the difference between a trim and a Locks of Love donation. She worked with me to get what I wanted even though I didn't know exactly how to verbalize what I wanted in cosmetology terms. Before she cut anything, she asked to make sure that it was ok. As much as I trust my stylist to make good decisions, it's important to be communicating about the hair cut the entire time. It was just an over all great experience and I can't wait to come back.

My highlights came out orange, so she fixed it for an additional $50. This entailed coloring my entire head one color and has left my scalp burning 2 days later despite multiple washes. I just wanted some highlights for summer, not to go 100% blonde. My child got a dry cut (1 inch off the bottom) for the bargain price of $60 (this is sarcasm) and her ombré which cost an additional $60 washed out completely in less than 48 hours. I asked multiple times how long it would last with plenty of assurances from Kim that it would last quite a while. Basically I paid $120 for a 1 inch trim. Extremely frustrated and disappointed as I believed this was a color expert.

This salon is right down the road from me so I decided to try it. I got full highlights, a cut and deep conditioning treatment. Holly literally did a breathtaking job. My hair was very two toned and turning yellow and she brought it back to life! She listed to exactly what I asked for!! I found that, and so much more, with Sheila. I followed her through two moves, the second of which was to open her own salon, and was happy to do it. Sheila is a color expert. I had to start coloring young because of grey hair and have never, not once, been disappointed with my color. Shelia also does keratin for me and waxing. Her salon is small. Just her and one other stylist. But it's very warm, and comfortable. I look forward to seeing Sheila every 4 weeks like clockwork.

The salon is small and cute and very comfortable- a refreshing change from the large, crowded salons I've been to where you get passed between hairdresser's assistants hardly seeing your stylist- hate that! Sheila took her time getting to understand what I wanted to change and listened to my concerns that I'm getting married in 3 months and I didn't want to further damage my distressed hair :) She listened patiently and understood and gave me her recommendations on what we should do. She was great in giving me options, laying out the pros and cons, without pressuring me into anything. We ended up doing a semi-permanent color throughout most of my hair (leaving out a few highlights) and toned the rest. It looks great, and was exactly what I needed. Sheila was lovely, it was like getting my hair done by a friend. I'll be coming back to freshen up before my big day :)
