Each station is busy with smiling team members- from receptionist desk, to hair washing stations to stylist stations- and I have yet to see this place short of buzzing. Everything is always clean and inviting and Im not sure how a place that could easily get dirty always remains sparkling. They have this down to a science. Why? Because they are professionals at the top of their craft. Whether you are looking for a particular color change, hair style or even advice, the information based on YOUR hair has always amazed me of the realistic approach for my exact hair type. There are definitely some skilled people working there however, they push additional services very sneakily. I encountered many times additional charges. Calling the manager "Mary" is pointless because she indeed she is rude and will do nothing for the customer. She certainly doesn't care about feedback. read more

Poor customer service , Mary Foley is not friendly, and even rude, for example, every time I try to make an appointment for cut and highlights with one of the stylists, they offer me, as directed by MF, only an option to have an app with Jess, although I stated repeatedly , that I was not satisfied with the service and would like to get an app with another stylist. For me it feels like discrimination , how come I don' t have an option to get my hair done by any other stylist? Mary does not have people skills , she is absolutely unprofessional , and Gallery is loosing it"s shine and perfectionism as a high end hair salon in Farmington. read more

I had loved this place for a while until my latest visit, I was very dissatisfied. I had asked for only an inch off my hair and specified I didn't want to lose my length and left with probably 3 inches off. I DO NOT care what the hairdresser thinks would look the best I did not fucking ask for that much off. That was probably a year's worth of growth down the drain and I spent so long trying to get it that long so honestly gallery salon you can go rot. Also my stylist quite literally did the opposite of what I asked for. Chunky highlights instead of blended in, and no money piece. read more

I have been a satisfied customer of the Gallery Salon for many years. The staff in this salon from the front desk to each hairdresser very attempt to do their best for each client. I have been impressed, overall, with their kindness, dedication, talent, and willingness to please. Of course everyone has different expectations and communication is a two-way process. Great salon! I followed Leslie here from the hair color company because she is an amazing stylist. I go to Leslie every three months for my cut and color, but she also does great styles for special events, both up-do and curling/straightening (see pics!) This salon has a beautiful interior. Expect amenities similar to big city salons without the parking hassles or snobbiness. The color they use is amazing and, as I said, Leslie is great. She also offers free bang trims if you have that style. I can't recommend Leslie or this salon enough! read more

unable to do color properly when I asked for appointment they talked to me and hung up phone wow!!

Finally writing this after almost a year. I recieved a permanant bald spot on my head larger than the size of a quarter from a chemical burn. The salon tried to lie to me and cover it up while I was in excruciating pain and ended up paying for it. I went home to find burn bubbles on my head and the whole back of my sweatshirt bleached. In the time following my hair began to fall out in chunks and the top was black and dead when it fell out. I'm young so this was devastating to me as I've always had long healthy hair. The hair will never grow back now and I've paid 1000s to fix what they did. I didn't pursue more actions as I could have in efforts to give the stylist a career still, but hopefully this review will be something to warn others. read more

This salon is well run, clean, and professional. The front end staff is always welcoming and accommodating. I am generally on time/early for my appointments and I have rarely had to wait longer than 5 min for my stylist to bring me back. I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Kelly for 5 years and she is by far my favorite stylist I have ever encountered. Kelly is meticulous when she cuts my hair, always taking care to get the cut just right. She colors hair beautifully and is always coming up with new and interesting ideas about my color. Kelly is professional, yet approachable and down to earth when dealing with clients, and she always has a positive attitude. Additionally, Kelly is up front and clear about the limitations of a certain haircut, style, or color so that I always know what I am getting into. Pricing is comparable to other quality salons in the area. All in all I would highly recommend the Gallery Salon, and Kelly in particular to anyone in need on a Salon. read more

This place was awesome! I had been traveling cross country for a month and desperately needed a haircut. My ends were so fried it was actually embarrassing. So my mom booked me an appointment here. My mom scheduled me with her stylist Martha. I arrived at noon on a Thursday and had to wait less than a minute before Martha came to get me. She gave me a brief tour of the salon and then got to work washing my hair. I probably could have let her massage my head all day and almost asked for another shampoo just for that reason. Then I remembered that I am kind-of a lady and decided against creeping out poor Martha. The salon was bustling with a lot of chatty stylists but Martha got down to work. She asked me what I wanted and a few other polite questions but other than that she worked in silence. Overly talkative stylists kinda stress me out (I'm always afraid they're going to be waving those scissors around and chop off an ear) so I was grateful for her silence. I did find out that she was going to a Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias concert that night at the casino which lead me to believe that she had a wild side. I thought about this a lot while she worked on my mane in silence. The cut and blow dry were rather quick but she did an AMAZING job. I've been getting my hair dyed for the past two years so I completely forgot how fast a regular old haircut can be. The best part is that it only set me back 36 bones! In NYC, it costs AT LEAST $80 for them to just cut my shoulder length hair. The reason I'm only giving them 4 stars is because I want to go back and get a color as well. Hands-down one of the best salons I've even been to. Front desk staff were wonderful, gave me a tour of the facility as I was a first-timer and I received a sample pack of product; nice little bonus. They offer coffee/tea service. They also have the largest stock of products for sale that I've ever seen in a salon before - very impressive. Kelly T. did my color for which she should be awarded the medal of honor, as she had to fix a horrid mess that another salon left on my head. Sweet, speedy and damn good at her job. (Side-note, Kelly also cuts my boyfriends hair and it always looks amazing!) Vito did my cut, also fixing a different part of the horrid mess and it's probably the best haircut I've ever had. My kind of guy - no chit-chat, straight down to business and handsome to boot. Prices are average for the area and you certainly get what you pay for. Worst and most expensive dye job of my life. Was so bad I actually went back to get it fixed the day before moving cross country! (Barely a difference) This lead color stylist was recommended to me by a friend for their color expertise. What a joke this chick gave me legit 2 inch roots all over and varying color from platinum to orange! She knew the definition of balayage but not how to do it with her 7+ bragging years of experience. Shocked for almost $300 you'd think you'd at least get 1 compliment from somebody, everyone encouraged me to go back! It was that bad! I'm sure other stylist there are good. But I don't know how management could keep someone so bad on their team let alone promote them. Theres WAY better salons in CT with MUCH better services for a fraction of the cost. This place is overpriced for being this under skilled. read more

Terrible experience. I went to this salon for over 20 years. I was unfortunately extremely sick for over a year. I desperately needed a haircut and explained this to the receptionist very clearly. Upon arriving I was treated by this new stylist like a second class citizen as my hair was a disaster. Clearly explained that ahead of time so they could make extra tim, clearly planned on paying more. I was rushed, horrible quick cut, about 1/18 taken off just by sliding scissors down. No sectioning at all! No layers! I asked for a thorough restyling and all layers re-done. No measuring. Tried to hide the new growth of awful bangs that were growing back in due to previous hair loss. Told me to just comb over w/other hair. I asked for them to be cut, styled in with lots of layers. I ended up with one long witch looking length with messed up bangs. They ran out of time after 25 min w/me. Left with half wet hair. No style. No curling iron. no curls nothing. I asked for them to please fix it ... I was told this salon wasn't for me Sent out the door for the next client in a hurry. Not like I didn't call and explain first!!!! So make someone who almost lost their life feel worse about themselves, great job Gallery! No wonder your stylists leave monthly! Charged of course the full cut blow dry and STYLE.
