The location I had been going to was okay, have definitely been to tanning salons that are a lot cleaner. However my main complaint is the cancellation policy and how it's not very clear on how or when to cancel. When signing up the girl at the front desk reviewed that I would have to wait three months to cancel or I'd be charged with a $20 fee and I'd have to call corporate. Fast forward to attempting to cancel I had called the L.A. Tan corporate office and left several messages for Angelina, never got a call back. So being desperate I went into my location to cancel my membership just to find out I had to still pay the monthly fee because it was too close to the billing date and this is out of their hands. I obviously can't tan because I am pregnant so called Angelina again (fourth time, again no answer during her working hours) to FINALLY receive a voicemail three days later stating that this was their policy and "according to her notes she already left me a voicemail." I'd be okay with that if I had actually received a voicemail.. That's why I'm here on yelp because I'm not playing phone tag with Angelina anymore. Honestly ZERO stars for customer service, not being able to refund $27 to a customer that literally cannot use their last months membership. read more

This is by far my favorite L.A Tan location. The girls that work there are absolutely wonderful and very helpful when it comes to picking out the bed level and tanning lotion that's right for you. The salon is very clean and so are the beds which was nice to see. They also have some new beds and a cryo bed that I can't wait to try out. read more

Normal tanning spa The only difference I found here and cannot find it at another tanning spa is two employee's ... Autumn and Jacey!!! I have never met two girls that were so friendly, upbeat and professional. I have never walked through that door and the girls did not have a smile of their face. I've been going to L.A. Tan in Orland (143rd location) for a couple years. The employee's and the manager are very friendly. The place is always very clean. They have different specials going all of the time and I have never had to wait. I do the stand up beds which are in great condition and always get a nice glow. Would not recommend at all for spray tans. Went there on two different occasions for the Versa Spray booth, and got no color. Second time was in a hurry and left, got home and realized I had absolutely no color. Tried to go back before it closed and was told I couldn't get a free tan because the manager could only do that and was then told I couldn't tan at all when I offered to pay because the sprays shut down at 8:30 and they have a strict policy on closing on time. Was getting a spray for an event the next day and I wouldn't have time to come back in the morning. The worker at the front was nice enough as I was very frustrated but overall poor customer service and poor equipment. Find another location! read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. In the past 1.5 months their Versa machines have had issues ( no bronzing solution and today only the old model Versa was working) But Today was the last straw. Went in today to get a spray tan. Was told that I was past due on my auto pay membership. I stated that was impossible because in early June I came in and gave them my new bank card (old one just expired). The girl confirmed the transaction that day....but the card was NEVER updated by the person that handled it back in early June. I said fine let's just do a bed then and I will pay...I was TOLD that I couldn't have ANY services until my $ 19.99 spray tan payment for July was collected. Okay...let's do that...then she stated it would be $ 26.99!!! I was being charged a fee because THEY forgot to update my auto pay info!!!. Told her I will not pay that. She stated I had to call customer service and wrote the number on a paper for me. I called at 3:30 and they were closed. Asked her for a manager, was told that she left at 3pm. I asked if she could please call the manager and she refused. Furious at this point, I grabbed my purse and went to use the ladies room before I left. Only to find the bathroom had Zero Toilet Paper!!!! This location is not very clean and I have been willing to overlook it due to the convenience of the location. But after today, I will be canceling my membership, filing a complaint with their corporate headquarters as well as the Better Business Bureau. Taking my business and MONEY where it is appreciated. First time client: 10.99 a month. Great deal! Here's what I got : sold an intensifying lotion at $31.00 on sale. I was helped filling out the consent forms, and skin questionnaire due to the small type face... awesome. I was placed in the stand up tanning booth. At max. AT MAX. I was a bit pink after... thought it was normal. Second day? Allowed to go back in at max again. With the intensifying lotion as suggested. Guess what I got? Second degree burns! Yay! Yeah, NO. I got to purchase aloe gel, dermal numbing sprays, and anti inflammatory meds. This is NOT how to achieve a great skin color. THIS METHOD is taking me straight to melanoma town. This is what happens when the clerk is too worried about the client in #16 as I had to hear about while I signed up. Hope #16 looks good- maybe she can cover the cost of my lotions too... read more

I started again here in February in anticipation of my wedding due to a horrible tan line on my back. If it weren't for that I wouldn't be tanning. I wish I would have walked out after the first night. I don't want to get ahead of myself. So the first night I walked in to sign up for a month membership and I was going to put it on a card. I was asked for my bank. I corrected the girl that I wanted it on my card. Her response, " I don't care I need your bank name." Ok so the better response would have been to explain and I would have gladly provided the information. They are lucky this is located so close to home and between working 60 hours and traveling, I don't have time to find another location. Tonight I walked in and the two girls were too busy with whatever drama was occurring on their phones to look up. The one entered my name. I asked for the restroom only to realize there was no TP. I'm sorry but if I'm the only one in the establishment, both are on their phones, the beds aren't clean and no TP...we have a problem. I can't wait for my wedding and to cancel the membership (aside from the health risk). read more

I go to this LA Tan 2-3 times a week. Especially on $5 Tuesdays. These girls that work here are amazing. They are really personable and will do anything they can to help you out. Most of these girls could be my daughters because of their ages and they still have a great attitude with me. They are never disrespectful. This is the best LA Tan around. DO NOT GO HERE! This is the 3rd time I've experienced bad customer service. I will not return to this location. Previously I've been left in the spray tan booth for over 20 min (sans clothing) waiting for the machine to start. When I re-dressed (called the store from the booth the second time it happened), I wasn't given a sincere apology but attitude and I was inconveniencing them. One of these instances they "ran out"of a color but failed to notify me and my tan wasn't noticeable. The last straw was tonight. I called ahead to ask when the last spray time was (although they are open until 10pm they only accept spray tan clients until a certain time). I was told by Amy 9:45pm. I said, "great, I'm on my way!" I already pre-paid for 3 sessions and I was thrilled. I arrived at 9:35pm and Amy told me she was mistaken and the last time to accept clients was 9:30pm. I asked to please make an exception as I was misinformed. She told me no because they already starting cleaning the booth. I begged. I explained I had an event to attend the following day. She again told me no. I asked to speak to a manager she said there wasn't one on duty but I could come in at 9am to talk to her. I stated I work much earlier than that time. I asked to speak to her co-worker that was cleaning the booth, she told me it didn't matter they already cleaned them. I explained I had a personal loss and recent death and asked to please help. Amy got her co-worker (it was now 9:40pm) and her co-worker told me the same thing as Amy. No empathy, no apology. Frustrated, I left. 2 minutes after getting into my car out walks the co-worker and leaves and they turn all the lights off in the store. It wasn't even 9:45pm. STAY AWAY. Go to the Tinley or Palos locations. They are friendlier and cleaner. The second time I was previously left in the booth because they "forgot to turn it on" and were "out of color" I did speak with the manager. She wasn't helpful and when I asked for her to rectify the errors, she wouldn't budge. No discount, free session, refund. I only went back to use my pre-paid sessions. As a manager myself of a large health facility, I'm appalled. I have never had such poor customer service. Please heed my warning. read more

I use to go to the LA Tan in Palos Religiously until I moved to the Orland Park area and started to go to the one on 94th location. At first the staff was very kind for the first handful of times I came in and then out of know where, most especially the staff on 07/21/2016 @ approx 7:20 p.m. we're acting as if I interrupting their time (I was the only person currently inside the the salon) and was a inconvenience to asking them a few questions about a bed that Ive never used before and was just trying to figure out if there a huge difference between the one I was inquiring about and the one I was thinking of giving a try. They gave me far below minimal answers and I basically had to interrogate them to get answers. I went in their to try a new bed, as well as, purchase a new bottle of lotion in which it was frustrating to say the least since I once had to produce my own questions about the lotions that would produce an informative reply, in which they replied with only yes or no answers. All while the second clerk who wasn't doing anything other than texting on her phone just sat their and gave typical privileged suburban smirks as if I was the idiot who was asking the questions. I will never come to this location again to make me feel like I'm not welcomed or looked at like I'm some idiot for asking questions about buying a new product and trying a new bed. I'm going to cancel membership where they actually respect their customers business. Thanks for this enlightenment and realization as towards why I've been member to LA Tan for the last 6 years. read more

a tanning bed is a tanning bed. Can't go wrong there. But jeez, do ANY of the girls here know how to smile and be friendly? With the exception of one girl (I wish I knew her name) they all seem too busy on their phones to be bothered at times. It's almost like they were told not to say "hello" or "thank you for coming in". And don't even get me started on the temperature in this place. It was 91 degrees outside and I swear it was dang near close to that temp inside. Always is. It's called a/c! I try to use other la tans due to their lack of enthusiasm and personality but sometimes I have no choice. I sweat in the bed and pour sweat after I get out. Turn the a/c on and smile! I have been coming here for years and enjoyed my experience all up until today. She put me in the wrong bed and made me get out after I stripped down naked. I came outside and asked her why did she tell me to go in a bed that wasn't mine after looking dead in my face telling me that was my bed. she raised her arms and yelled for me to get out or she was gonna call the cops. I asked for a refund which she refused. I did tell her to go ahead and call the police, give me a refund or put me in a bed. She kept screaming at me and accusing me of cursing at her which I did not say one swear word to her. As a customer I think I have every right to ask why I was asked to leave the bed when I was just about to hop in naked. I told her that and she made a face and said " I don't wanna see you naked". She was speaking to me in a condescending tone calling me Hun. I told her not to call me that, I'm old enough to be her mother. She made another face and said " not old enough to be my mother". I then told her my age. The whole time she kept screaming at me to get out. She then called the police. While on the phone with the police she started racially profiling me as a Muslim , which I am not even of Arab decent. I waited for the police and when they came they assured me that she refunded the money to my account. I wasted 45 min to walk out with no tan and all sticky from wasting my expensive lotion. 1st visit for spray tan and the staff never told me what to do! My daughter told me they would tell me what positions and show me the room. That never happened, the attitude on the two young female staff was shocking. It was the end of the night but if you take my appointment then you should be prepared to help. They needed so much information from me...which I thought was ridiculous since they couldn't find the time as a first time user to show me anything. I was travelling back home to Ireland the next day so couldn't ring the location. The spray tan was booked around July 27, 2015 in the evening. I know find out from my other daughter and sister who just went there that apparently the first tan is FREE! So, that was not offered or told to me, like nothing was. My daughter who went with me on July 27, 2015 went back and told them they charged for her 1st spray so her 2nd one was free. Todays date is August 12, 2015 and just thought I would let people know what to expect. I am from Palos Park but live in Ireland...I know how things work on both sides of the ocean.
