I don't know that I would do drop-off here, but I do take my jeans here to wash (they dry at home in the free air of my apartment), because the crazy woman who runs the laundromat at 7th Av & 1st St can't seem to keep her coin changing machines in working order for more than 5 minutes. This place is also cleaner and less crowded - just beware of the "Service Only" signs on some of the washers and dryers - they should just say "Not For You, Lackey." You will be scolded if you accidentally use one. read more

I've been going to this laundromat for self-service laundry since I moved to the neighborhood three years ago. The staff is so friendly, and they always greet you when you come in. There's a neighborly atmosphere to the place, as indicated by the jugs of detergent that laundromat frequenters leave behind for the next time they go. While on the older side, the many coin-op washers and dryers they have do the job well. I've never had to wait for a machine to free up, even at busy times like Sunday afternoon/evening. The machines are also inexpensive, and the dryers dry pretty quickly. Overall, I see this place as my friendly neighborhood laundromat, and I wouldn't go anywhere else because of the welcoming staff. read more

Looking for a good drop-off laundromat? L&B might be for you, with a few caveats. 1.) If you need something shrunk, this is your place. It reliably makes my jeans tighter when too many wears between washings have made them saggy. Any T-shirts that are a little too loose always go into my L&B-bound laundry bag. 2.) I'm not sure how they do with the frills (softener, hang-dry, etc.), as I never ask for them nor do they offer them upfront (like the other laundromat I sometimes go to). Aside from that, L&B does an amazing job with speed and folding/sorting. I always know that if I get my bag in before or just after noon, I'll have it back later that day. And they seem to grasp the difference between true undershirt T's and my favorite custom T's---they sort them into distinct piles. As far as doing your laundry in-house yourself, you may want to look elsewhere. The place is cramped and has dim lighting---not the spot you want to sit around in for a couple hours while your cycles inch along. read more

The good: very fast turnaround on same-day laundry. They can often do the laundry in three or four hours. I don't know of any other places in the neighborhood that can get your clothes back to you so quickly. Also, if you bring your clothes in a rolling cart, the owner will store your cart in the back for you and you can pick it up when you come back for your laundry. The bad: the laundry tends to be less than immaculately clean; no fabric softner; and since the owner is a cigarette smoker, if you leave the laundry there for more than a couple of days your clothes may vaguely smell of marlboros. All things said and done, we use this place every week, but make extra sure to pick up the same day as we drop off. read more

I've been going here for the past year and I'd continue coming here if I weren't moving. The staff are always so incredibly friendly, I really appreciate it. I assume most laundromats in the neighborhood are the same price. They have free wifi which is nice and they're located by Tea Lounge, which is nice too. There are a few different sizes of machines to use and I have never had a issue with dry cleaning. I hope my next laundromat is as friendly and understanding! read more

I honestly always liked this place a lot, and am sad I have to write this review, but I am too upset about my last experience here. I will start with the good things about this place: It is inexpensive, the people are friendly, and they can typically get my laundry done the same day I drop it off, even if I drop it off fairly late. The BAD is that they lost one of my pillow cases this weekend and I am pissed. I dropped my bedding off -- just a duvet cover, top sheet, fitted sheet, two small white pillow case and two large striped ones. I JUST bought this new sheet set, after another laundry place lost one of my pillowcases, and since my old sheet set was older, I decided to take the lost pillow case as a sign it was time to get a new set. What pisses me off so much this time, is that they put another person's pillowcase in my laundry (which was a completely different size, style, and color than mine) means that either: 1. My sheets were mixed in with someone else's laundry. I don't see a reason this would be necessary. The set would fit perfectly in its own machine. Also, it's kind of gross to mix two people's laundry together. And especially if they were mixing laundry to save time, they should have been paying extra attention if anything. OR 2. They noticed they had lost a pillowcase and decided to find the closest thing they could to it and put it in my laundry bag, then give my laundry back to me, charge me, and not tell me about the loss. I brought the other pillowcase back and told them. They did seem concerned, took my phone # & info. I followed up today (4 days later), and they were pretty unapologetic. They said they can't do anything for me since they can't confirm that they lost it. That it might just be in my house (it 100% is not). I asked if they could call any other customers from that day, he refused. I personally would not care if my laundry place called me to ask about another customer's lost item. It would actually make me feel better about dropping my laundry off there, knowing their diligence for lost items. Had to spend $50 on new pillowcases today. Woohoo (not). I think I would do literally anything to have laundry in my building. Alas, I am stuck dealing with this crap. read more

Other than the fact they've ruined my $1000 mattress cover - because they were too incompetent to read the label which stated that it's 100% wool and they used a normal wash - they're all great, fine and dandy. Utterly incompetent morons. read more

We keep using 'em, as it's the closest laundromat in the neighborhood, but L&B is not the most pleasant experience -- the place is often small and crowded, and our fellow launderers aren't always the most pleasant of folks. Please, can I give this place no stars? If you drop your laundry off there, good luck to you because I don't know what is crawling around on the floor. Oh, that is where your clothes will end up before it goes into the wash. I would never drop my clothes off there even if they would wash them for free! Also, the owner is a complete douche, to say the least. He has no manners and I doubt he speaks English, let alone any other language, intelligibly. If you are doing laundry there, you better bring a can of Lysol, because who knows that last time he cleaned the place. read more

This place is great for drop-off and horrible for drycleaning. They outsource the drycleaning, and every piece comes back unwashed and with a friggin label stapled onto the fabric! With that said, I can drop off a 20-pound bag at 10am and by 2pm it has been washed and folded. You can't really get that anywhere else. read more

I love this laundromat! I first discovered them during the height of the COVID crisis when all my usual wash & fold places shut down. They were one of the first to open back up and living in a building with no washer dryers, I was getting a little desperate. I really appreciate how they opened up SAFELY and enforced social distancing and mask wearing. You still can't hang out while your clothes are washing and need to fold things at home, but this makes sense to me. It's always clean, never crowded, and you can leave your detergent with your name on it so you're not schlepping a gallon of laundry soap back and forth every time you need to do a couple loads. I haven't gone back to my usual places since I realized I actually like having the time to chill out and sit outside on one of the many benches and wait for my laundry. Plus, I love supporting a business that was there for me and the community. I will continue to be a regular! read more

It's the closest laundromat to my apartment, so it's my first choice for do-it-yourself laundry. Annoyingly, they're closed on Wednsdays (my day off). The competition for machines can be tough on weekends. Other than that, it's fine. It's laundry. Whatever. read more

This is a good laundromat. I've been going here for a few years. About a year ago, the management changed -- I believe the previous owner sold the business to new owners. So, some of the older reviews are not really applicable anymore (e.g. the cigarette-smoking owner is gone now.) The owners are very friendly. They are incredibly fast with drop-off service. There are plenty of machines available and they're fast and efficient. Note that the ones marked "for service only" are reserved for the owners to use for dropoff service. I'm giving it 5 stars because they are open 7 days a week, which is pretty rare in this neighborhood. The only major "con" is that the lighting is pretty bad and it gets crowded at peak times -- but it's not like the lighting matters much, and it makes sense that it gets crowded since there aren't many laundromats in this area. I haven't used their dry cleaning, so I can't speak to that service. read more

This Chinese run laundromat is BY FAR THE WORST LAUNDROMAT - do not go here. The dryers here are not hot and if after 6 quarters (36 minutes!!!) your clothes are still wet and you ask the woman who works there what is up with that BEWARE. The simple solution would be, as a store owner, to refund the customer...not fight with them, make them speak to some DOUCHE on the phone about what dryer, when, how, why JUST REFUND MY MONEY OR DRY MY CLOTHES. I had to fight with these people after nicely bringing to their attention their dryers suck. This was by far the very worst customer service I have witnessed in my life - I could not believe what was happening. Fair warning. They are running this place knowing full well most people will just put 15 quarters in the dryers and not say anything. I will walk an extra 5 blocks to avoid this place for life! read more

I've used this laundromat once and I won't go back. The owner is totally obnoxious and treated me with utter contempt. He begrudgingly answered my questions through unhelpful grunts and didn't say a word to me otherwise. It's also expensive compared to the other do-it-yourself laundromats close by. Have been coming here for 4 years, no issues, get laundry done weekly, and it's always nicely folded, and clean. If you wants something air dried, or for them to use a different detergent that will do this too. Super friendly staff ready to help. read more

A good number of washing machines and dryers so there is also one available, and the prices are reasonable ($2.00 for a load in the wash). However, the machines are extremely old. They don't have a delicate setting, for example. Upgrade much needed. read more
