I recently discovered that Jane Laundromat has been cheating their customers! I bought a hand scale and started weighing all my laundry. I was horrified to discover that Jane Laundry adds 1 additional pound to each laundry load! This is not just a one time occurrence, but has been happening consistently- about 4 weeks in a row now. This place is good, when they are open. Hours state that they open at 7:30am on weekdays - yet this is the second time in the 2 months I've lived in this neighborhood and when I head over ~9am to drop my laundry off on my way to work and they just aren't open. I'm hanging out at home 2 blocks away, calling them every 10 minutes to wait and see when they open. I don't mind if businesses close for a day here and there, but there is no written notice of it anywhere as far as I can tell. This happened to me also about a month ago. When they are open, service is quick and done well, but they decide they don't want to open some random days. I don't know if my experience is like others', but I think I gotta find a new place for wash and fold. I can't deal with this inconsistency. read more

Just came here for the first time today since it's only 2 blocks from where I moved. Paid $7.50 for the largest washer and after already putting 2 cups of detergent, it wasn't soapy so I asked the Asian man working there for help. He came over and proceeded to tell me there's nothing wrong with the machine, it's my soap. He said I'm not actually using soap, I'm using water. So I said if my clothes didn't come out right I'd need a refund, he said I needed to get a refund for my soap and walked away. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Fan of rank clothing? This is the place for you! I really love when I pick up my clothes and they smell far worse than when I drop them off. Icing on the cake is when the gent at the desk is a dismissive ass. Other than that, affordable, efficient and quick [unless you need to take your mildew reeking articles someplace else... then none of those things]. They don't bother with annoying chit-chat or acknowledging people as human beings, which really cuts down on wasting time. read more

So I totally confused this laundromat with another one in Manhattan because hey have the same name. I am speaking of this one in the gowanus area and I've known this place for YEARS but it's always been a last resort. This place was closed during the beginning of covid for a couple months and I'm not sure why, but they opened back up eventually. They were clean for the first couple weeks then went back to not cleaning the top of the machine's or sweeping or mopping the place. A lot of their dryer's are broken as well as a couple washing machine's. They also have a section next to the card refill machine where they have a bunch of things and they take up a lot of folding tables with the stuff they seem to hoard. The business is just not clean enough unfortunately. read more

Closed on Thursdays. Supposed to be open at 8am yet they don't open til 8:30. On top of them being late to open the staff takes up all of the machines. You have to track the guy down (the women won't help and will direct you to him) and have him empty a machine. read more

They were so great! The best laundry in the neighborhood! We have a lot of non-dryer stuff, and we don't like softener or dryer sheets, and they were completely accommodating. Best part: they only charge 60 cents per pound! They did a great job, spoke English, and were super friendly. We'll be returning regularly! :) read more

I've had laundry picked up twice from Jane now, and am excited to have found them! Laundry is like 1,2,3, super easy thanks to the online system. Pickup and delivery is right on time within a scheduled 1 hour window. Laundry comes back clean and organized in a logical way. I recently dropped off two blankets to be washed. When I picked them up I put them away in the plastic bag they come in after being cleaned. A few days later I pull out the blankets and I swear they were not washed at all. I doubt they even touched water and if the did NO soap was used. This is really disappointing I paid $30 to be scammed. read more

Never went to the physical location, have only used their pick up and delivery service. The scheduling is simple and it's easy to add additional things to the service. I've been using their service for about 4 months now and haven't had any issues. I have only used their wash and fold laundry service so I can't speak for their dry cleaning. I like it and have no complaints so far. They're consistent with their pick up time and drop off time and they're consistent with how they fold the clothes. I like that I'm able to just take the clean clothes out of the bag and put them away in my closer and drawers with minimal additional folding needed. Definitely recommend this place if you live in downtown Brooklyn area read more

I tried to book pick up laundry services today from this laundromat and they called me to tell me they could only do it if I walk my laundry out to the street because parking is difficult in the area. I have a newborn and cannot just walk out to the curb (which is a block from my building since I live in a complex) so I had to cancel the order. They should not advertise pickup services if they are unwilling to actually pick up from the apartment. read more

I get the pick-up service from Jane Laundromat and I WILL NEVER DO MY OWN LAUNDRY AGAIN. It's definitely more expensive to have them do my laundry for me but considering the convenience, the helpfulness of the employees, the fact that they fold and sort everything before they return my laundry to me, any amount is worth it. Jane Laundromat is AMAZING!! I've used many laundry services in NYC and Jane is by far the best. They always answer the phone promptly, pickup and delivery laundry to our door, and fold everything perfectly! We'll send out two huge laundry bags and somehow they compress it all into one when they give it back... not sure how they do it but it's awesome! The people who work there are extremely friendly and accommodating, and the prices are good too. Cannot say enough about the quality of the customer service these guys provide, and how consistently they provide it. Need a pickup at the last minute? No problem. Leave your car key in a coat pocket? They text you. I have never texted them for something and not gotten a response within five minutes. They do a great job with out laundry and our dry cleaning. They're great with small repairs and tailoring. You won't regret going to Jane Laundromat for any/all of your clothing care. read more

I had no idea what I was doing as I don't have to use a laundry mat at home, so I had a few questions about their card machine, etc. They walked me through it, showed me which machines to use and even packed up the extra detergent I had left over. read more

Well, if you put a note on every single bag and ask that they use unscented detergent, they use Tide regular scent and tell you it is unscented. If you tell them the clothes smell very strongly of a sweet, cheap scent, they say we only have Tide regular scent today. On occasion , I've also suspected that I've been charged for more pounds of laundry than I actually sent. Can't use them any longer. Another laundromat, bites the dust. read more

I've been twice, and each time I found the premises (machines, tables, floors) filthy, riddled with crawling bugs (they actually crawled on my feet...yuck) , machines that didn't work and unfriendly staff. I hate to say it, but I think that because they are across the street from a huge project community, they don't feel that they need to keep the machines, the floors, and the tables clean. They don't even greet you when you come in the door. Both times I left there feeling dirtier than the clothes I came through the door with. The 2nd time I actually came back to turn in the card that they force you to buy to use their machines. I had a $7.50 balance on it and the desk person gave me a dollar back. So as not to waste the money, I ended up using a washing machine for $7.50 to use up the balance. What an awful awful experience both times. I'd rather wash my clothes by hand than to ever step foot in this unkempt place. How is it possible to go to a DIRTY establishment to get your clothes clean? Victoria McC read more
