I've been to see Lupe & Carlos twice - first for a preliminary visit to get an estimate and look at fabrics...then went back last week to drop off my kitchen chair cushions for reupholstering. Both Lupe & Carlos are super helpful and love to share their knowledge with you to help you make a good decision. Carlos even took me into his shop to show me the foam & polyester he would be using to redo the cushions. Their prices are good and most of all you can see the passion L&C have in their craft. Nice couple. Please be sure to verify the price up front and be very specific on how you would like your furniture to be upholstered. They quoted us one price for the specific fabric and they couldn't get that fabric. We had to go back and choose another fabric which was less expensive than the original one but they said it's the same price. Cushions are not well done and padded. Cushions started to sink within few months. read more

If I could I would give no stars to this unprofessional business. On 5/20/21 I gave Carlos Sandoval, the owner a check in the amount of $924 for 21 yards of upholstery material for a sofa and a love seat. The material arrived on 6/2 and on 6/3 Carlos said he would be calling me to pick up the sofas the following week. Since he never contacted me I called again on 6/25, a Friday and he assured me he would be calling me on Monday, but no call came for the next 11 days. On 7/8 I went to his business address at 2:45 PM and although there was an "OPEN" sign the place was dark and locked. His window has the hours listed as MON-FRID 6 AM - 7:30 PM, SAT 8AM-5 PM. On 7/12 I called and left a message to call me and at 1 PM I again went to the store but no one was in. That same afternoon I wrote Carlos a letter and left it on his front door and on the windshield of his van. He lives a block away from me in the Oaks North Community. On 7/13 Carlos called after getting my note and said that he became ill on 7/4 and he has been in and out of the hospital. I said I needed to pick up the material since I cannot wait any longer for the job to be done. I said I would be by tomorrow 7/14 between 10-11 AM tomorrow wed 7/14 to get my material. He assured me he would be there. Went to the store today 7/14 at 10:30 and no one was in. I left two messages requesting contact with both my home and my cell phone. I returned to store at 11:15 AM and it was still closed. I had no messages when I got home, no messages to my cell phone. Called Carlos' again and left a stronger message asking that his wife contact me (the answering machine message is in her voice) since I'm not sure if Carlos has a case of galloping memory loss or if he's is a con man. The BBB won't take a complaint since they don't have this business listed with them. Any ideas any one as to how to recover the $924 worth of MY material in their possession? I can't believe the mostly positive reviews I read here and in Google for my experience has been nothing but fraught with irresponsible and unprofessional behavior. read more

Excellent work, service, and prices!!!! I needed my dining room chairs and a rocking chair done and I'm so glad I found them. Carlos and his wife are so friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. They even helped me pick up fabric. Also, I didn't have a car big enough to transport the furniture so Carlos came and pick it up for me. I trust them completely. Very satisfied with the work they did on our dining room chairs. We had looked and looked for where to have this done and were very pleased to find L&C right here in Poway. L & C is a great place for upholstery needs. They have so much experience. The quality of their work is great. We had them recover two dinning room chairs; from plastic leather that was peeling to a beautiful leather. It was pricey, but that's because we picked the most expensive leather. Lupe and Carlos are SO fantastic!!! What a great job Carlos does. .he made me pillows from Aloha material I brought back from Maui for my home here in SD and in the islands... I had a fairly good size job for L & C Upholstery. They reupholstered 12 chairs, hemmed 8 curtain panels and sewed 4 pillow cases. Their work is top notch. Carlos will pick up and deliver your items--a godsend since I don't have a van. He's also very quick to get the job done (less then a week). They are a small mom and pop shop, so I liked the idea of supporting them--and they deserve it. I will definitely use them in the future--they rock. read more
