He had a large number of good reviews, but I didn't want to base my decision solely on that. What stood out to me was a photo of Omar with a customer--he genuinely seemed trustworthy. I decided to go with my instincts, and I'm so glad I did. Omar and Heather are both very down-to-earth, and Omar is extremely knowledgeable about gutter systems. He takes his time, explains everything thoroughly, and never rushes the process. He's also very courteous and professional, which made the entire experience stress-free. They also never once asked me to leave a positive review, which is very rare these days. I'm writing this review completely voluntarily and am genuinely happy to do so! We had several items we needed addressed on the roof. First, we were getting an array of solar…read morepanels installed. The roof was 37 years old, and we wanted to replace the roofing paper now rather than wait a few years after the panels were in. Second, the solar guys wanted to have shingles under the panels instead of clay tiles which are required by our HOA. Third , we needed to address a couple of issues the inspector identified when we bought our house including wood rot and blocked (and possibly damaged) valleys. Finally, the gutters were a mess, and there were no gutters in a couple of places where they were needed. Wences quote for all the work was very competitive. Our solar guys had worked with them before with excellent results. And their reviews on Yelp and elsewhere are excellent. We are very happy with the results. Solar install went well. Some of the roofing work had to wait for the solar to complete, but the Wences guys were quick to return when that work was done. We had a pretty bad storm with heavy rain and high winds a couple of weeks ago, and absolutely no problems. Even the gutters were quiet (we've had gutters installed in our last house and they sounded like the water was dripping in the house!) We are perfectly happy with the work both by Wences Roofing and by Eduardo from South County Rain Gutter. They are both highly recommended. It is always a relief when you find somebody who not only does a good job themselves, but who can also point you to other contractors who do a great job.
