I normally go to other places when I don't have the tools, time, and or knowledge needed for some things. I will go over my first experience with this shop and why my wife and I go here when needed. I had an issue with an oil pressure sensor leak. I could see it, I know how much the part costs, and I know what needs to be done. However to actually access it would be a pain. I called them up and asked them how much it would cost to replace it. I believe I spoke to Steve and he mentioned generally about 200 or so. Now, that would be the case for many cars, but not this one. So I asked Steve if he could check book time. Book time is basically the amount of time, in a perfect scenario, it should take a mechanic to complete a task. They can then give you an estimate with respect to their labor rates. For example if hourly labor is 150 and book time for say changing a starter is 1h, they can say the labor cost will be $150. Steve looks at book time and is surprised because it's higher than normal about 2x more time and was wondering why. I mentioned, that to access it you have to essentially remove a few other components. He mentions, well, you can bring it in and we can take a look. I was hoping maybe they'd have easier ways of accessing it and mentioned I'm going to think on it a bit. I went under the car again and decided, "Nope. Too much work." I called back and setup an appointment. I drop off the car. I'm not happy with where the car manufacturers' engineers decided to shroud the oil pressure switch and essentially up the replacement cost but it is what it is. Anyway, I get a call back and the price I have to pay is essentially 1h and the part. I head on over and am very surprised. I forget the name of the mechanic (think it started with an M) but I asked them, "I'm surprised that you got it done so fast ... how?!" They mentioned they'd dealt with those cars before as they're common so they rigged up/made a special tool to reach in and do it. That was when I decided TrueTech is a stand up place. They could have charged book time and believe me you, I would've paid it. However they had a seasoned mechanic who knocked it out and passed those savings in their time, as savings in my pocket back to me. This isn't just a good honest mechanic being a good honest mechanic but also the higher ups, the managers and or owners. It seems that is their standard too as they've always been pretty booked which says they're more about doing good work in good time and if they make good headway, you may luck out. You may not, their call :-) but again, book time is perfect world setup, not rusted through, seized on, broken off ... stuff. It is still a good way to understand what you may be looking at aside from the actual part. Since then if and when needed, we go to TrueTech and we've always been happy. P.S. Once they have you in their system (i.e. e-mail / phone), their estimates app, progress, etc and everything is great. Especially if you have a smart phone. I saw where someone mentioned they had difficulty with getting a response and I haven't ran into that. If anyone does run into that, call them and just verify they have the right info.

Her dad and I are 1300 miles away so we told her to use the AAA app to ask for a jump, and then to stay on the phone with us until she was back on the road. The tow truck driver showed up within 15 minutes. He addressed her as "Miss WaymoresBlues" because our AAA info is in my name. She never told him her first name. He charged the battery, she thanked him and she left. She didn't even sign any paperwork. It took less than 5 minutes. We heard the entire conversation. This morning, she woke up to a friend request on FB, a follow on IG and messages on both platforms. He said he liked her vibe and he was hoping they could meet up for coffee. A quick search of his FB profile told my daughter that this guy is in his mid-30's. My daughter is still technically a teenager and looks it. She ignored both messages and blocked him. I'm furious because the only information he has was mine. Which means he used info from a professional transaction to find me on social media, then used my social media to track down my daughter. To top it all off, she saw him in his tow truck in the same parking lot on her way to her afternoon class. She uses a different parking area on Wednesdays, but is certain she has never noticed a tow truck in that parking lot before. I reported him to AAA. I had my daughter contact campus security and ask for an escort to and from her classes for the next week. She's also going to be using her sister's car until she feels more comfortable. I'm furious. This man found my daughter in a vulnerable situation. Night time, alone and young in an empty parking lot. He's obviously older than her and there's no fucking way he doesn't know that. And now this morning, he just happens to be in the same parking lot on the same campus? I grew up in a conservative, rural area in the 80's and 90's, and women were conditioned to think this kind of bullshit was romantic. It's not. It's predatory at best. Raise your children to know this is unacceptable.

He did not leave me hanging he came out as soon as possible before I called him I did contact through my insurance to have them send a tow truck this never happened I waited three hours I noticed on my phone that multiple tow trucks canceled out from coming finally the fourth tow truck came while STEVIE arrived I sent the tow truck away and Stevie was there less than an hour after the phone call that's amazing. And of course another holiday Christmas Eve while I am DoorDash in my vehicle broke down at a restaurant battery was dead from severe cold winds luckily I had a chance to cancel the customers order send a different driver but once I called STEVIE I don't even know how long it was but I almost think I only waited a half hour. I'm so completely satisfied with how great his tow trucks are that it protects your vehicle. His attitude and personality are great you feel like you're talking to a brother. He worries about you he'll tell you to stand inside while he's in the frigid cold temps. I will always continue to use the service I will always tell my friends about him definitely the person you want towing your vehicle back to safety or coming out to get your vehicle started or changing a tire many many other things. After trying a couple of places that didn't answer the phone I called 24 Hr Affordable Towing. They gave me an estimate of 30 minutes, but 20 minutes later the truck had arrived and was loading the car. The guy was very professional. Offered to drop the car off, call me when he arrived and email me the invoice. Oh, and he towed it across town for $125. Not bad at all. 24 Hr Affordable Towing delivered for me big time, so I figured the least I could do is give them some props.
