I had a very negative experience with this shop and want to share the facts clearly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On Monday, I called and told them my car had been rear-ended. State Farm sent an electronic authorization to prepare a repair estimate, and the manager "Chuck" initially agreed to handle it. After several days with no follow-up, I visited the shop in person on Friday to find out what was happening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I explained the situation calmly, the mechanic reacted angrily, used rude language (he told me "f*** yourself"), and said he was too busy to take the job.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During the first meeting, I simply asked if paying cash would make the repair cheaper -- a straightforward question about payment options that any customer might ask. He said that shouldn't be a problem, but today he accused me of wrongdoing and refused to proceed. For the record -- I never asked anyone to do anything illegal or improper. I only requested a standard insurance estimate via State Farm so I could review my repair options before committing. Instead, I was ignored for days, treated disrespectfully in person, and falsely accused when I asked a reasonable question about payment. I left shocked at the lack of professionalism. I would caution others to think twice before doing business here. I saw a lot of good reviews and was ready to bring this body shop a lot of business (it's even close to my office), but this experience made it clear that some people forget it's the client who brings money to the business -- not the other way around. read more

I have been taking my car to Remes Auto Body for the past 18 years and I've always been treated with respect and honesty. Having had 3 kids learn to drive over the past 18 years, I have taken many cars with minor damage to cars that had major damage to Remes. They let me know whats involved and keep me informed throughout the process. They explained how there may be more damage once they get the car apart. Because of the supply chain issues, they let me know that some parts may take longer to get. Years ago, I took my car to another repair shop in the area and was treated poorly and paint job had to be redone. After that experience, I only take my cars to Remes. read more

I took my car for an estimate on the recommendation of a friend. After entering the office, the receptionist appeared too busy on her computer to even look up to have a conversation. When I stated what I'd like an estimate for, she immediately replied "Nope", "it won't work, it'll cost you too much." I responded, "Don't you even want to take a look at it?" I guess the question is: How much is too much? Was I profiled by her assumptions that I couldn't afford to pay "too much" for a repair I wanted done. I left the facility without anyone even looking at my vehicle. I am assuming global pandemics are very good for the auto body industry, how else could a company be so selective in their services? I certainly won't be going back to Remes auto body in Westmont, Illinois right next to the McDonalds and assuredly won't be sending anyone their way either. They don't need the business... read more

Unfortunately I ended up here again with another vehicle. We were quoted a price that ended up being a bit higher (in my mind) than expected. Regardless, I still chose to continue with the work as I've used them before for paint services. I was told it would be a 2-3 day turnaround. This was on a Tuesday. By Thursday afternoon I was told the car was complete and would be ready for pick up, which was great to hear. But let's see about the body work. I arrived Friday evening to pick up the car and at first glance it looked pretty impeccable, but being me as a perfectionist, i went in for a closer look. The paint they used matched perfectly which was great, however they had some overspray on the tire which they quickly removed when I pointed it out - and on the edge of the rear quarter panel I noticed the paint while was done, it seemed like a very thin layer. I shall keep a close eye on it as the bill was definitely on the higher side and looking at the billable hours. Side note: when I was about to pay I was given an even higher price than quoted, but the lady at the desk explained to me it was some software issue and called Chuck to remedy it which they did, since I was not about to pay an additional 120 for something that I know was not needed. Again, it was said to be a software glitch or something so who knows. Overall, I am pleased, but again - I will give it a little bit of time before a final verdict. read more

They do good work! I had my vehicle repaired 3,times here . They are very busy and sometimes you gotta wait 2 weeks to get your vehicle in the shop but it's worth the wait! The process with insurance etc is quick and painless. They set up your rental very easily . You drop off your car, they set up rental and it's a fast process and all you got to do is drop it off after the work is done . Remes Auto Body always washes your car Before returning your car to you so it always looks brand new ! They do excellent body work . I trust them and the staff is friendly and professional. They fixed my car and it looks like new! I had another mechanic work on my car, and they forgot to tighten the lugnuts on one of my wheels....the wheel flew off on the highway and I got hurt. I had a lot of damage on my fender. Then a friend in the area referred me to remes. Melissa the receptionist was always pleasant and informative on the phone. Chuck, one of the mechanics, updated me on my car during the process. Their timing was prompt, if not earlier than I expected. In other words, they were awesome! We have a new mini-van with the fancy side-view mirrors that have cameras, lane-detection lights, etc. Unfortunately, it got hit. It was going to cost $1600 to replace it at the dealer, who said it was beyond repair. I took it to Remes and in 10 minutes they had it repaired to working condition! Everyone at Remes auto body was very well knowledgeable and fair in pricing. I brought my car in to replace my front bumper and trunk lid, where I was quoted somewhere else for almost $3,000 at Remes it was less than half that price at $1,300. They did a phenomenal job and everyone was really kind and understanding. They even cleaned washed my car afterwards and cleaned the inside of it as well, which I did not expect them to do and was very grateful for. I took my car to Remes after an accident, as they were recommended by a friend. Overall, the work was ok, as I asked them to do what needed to be done but not much more since the car is 13 years old. Upon receiving the car back (which took 3 weeks) I noticed damage on the car that was not there before. (and not in the area that was under repair). When I asked what happened, they indicated they did not do it and didn't know what to tell me. I was in the midst of trying to work out what happened still to determine what could be done or what could have happened and the individual said 'we didn't do it' and walked away from me. (mind you, this was after I signed over the insurance check - which, stupid me, was before I saw the car) I am more upset with their unprofessional attitude more than anything else. read more

I have taken my car to Remes twice now, and I can't say enough amazing things about their high-quality customer service and repairs. This time, I took my car in after being rear ended and there was significant damage. The repairs took longer than expected, and since my rental car coverage had ended, Remes offered to pick up the rest of the cost due to the delay - I am so thankful!! I also appreciate that they're taking the appropriate time needed to fix my car, and they had the adjuster at my insurance company come out more than once to make sure all the necessary repairs are covered. We have had work done here twice. They do a phenomonal job especially finishing with the best paint job you can get. Even better than a shop that speciallizes in paint.
