On March 31st, five sections of my wooden fence were knocked down during a storm, shearing the posts off at ground level. There were only 2 sections left standing and the fence was over 20 years old, so it made sense to simply replace the entire fence as well as an attached gate. I reached out for quotes on April 4th, and Misael from L&M Fence responded within a minute. He scheduled to come out and quote the job the morning of April 5th. He was friendly, courteous and professional and I found his quote for the work to be quite reasonable. On April 6th he initiated the village's permitting process. The village slowed things down due to an inspector being required to be be scheduled to check on the work while it was in progress, so the replacement couldn't take place until Monday April 17th. The weather had turned cold again that day, and it was actually snowing a bit when he started. He was on site at 7 a.m. and had the post holes dug by 10:30. Misael's assistant had a family emergency that day, so Misael was working alone. The inspector was satisfied with what he saw and the work was given the go-ahead for completion. Misael actually built the entire fence plank by plank rather than using fence sections. Despite working alone, the project was around 95% done by the end of the first day. The second morning was basically just finishing off the gate (which he also built from scratch) and cleanup. When he left, other than the brand new fence, my back yard looked like nobody had even been there. He did a fantastic job tidying up and removing debris, including the old fence. The fence is sturdy and looks great, even better than I'd hoped. Misael is easy to work with, and I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

Our 8' very old small wooden fence with a gate finally broke down. A blind internet Yelp search for a company to build something this small was frustrating at best because the prices for thi job from several other similar businesses suggested it to be too small for them from the quoted outrageous prices we receive. Through Yelp Misael of L&M responded quickly to survey the job and verbally gave us an immediate more than a reasonable estimate. He further explained his history and we agreed to go ahead. We also discussed permits and contacting JULIE for digging survey. In my opinion contacting JULIE was easy but because our town's permit process relies on an internet form which was more complex than any contractor should go through given their limited resources for this type of job. And helped us keep control of a realistic timeline. Two workers 4 hours later with meticulous detailed and artistry of hand cutting the 15 pickets, our fence was completed in spectacular fashion. read more

I would HIGHLY recomend (and quite frankly already have) L & M Fence. In business, communication is a major key to success. In the fence business, Misael is the man. He kept me posted 100% of the way from me telling him what I wanted start to finish. He did everything from getting the permits to the final cleanup. They dug the post holes on Thursday, Village inspector was out Friday morning. The posts were installed on Friday afternoon. Monday the fence and lattice were cut (on site) to order and installed. They came back on Tuesday to finish the gate, and on Wednesday for the final cleanup. I actually made a few changes along the way and they were very accomodating. What more can I say. I've used 3 different fence companies over the last 20 years. A full replacement back in 2006 and then storm repairs every few years until now. Misael & team replaced a few posts 2 years ago.
