I'm a new house owner and Luis came out within the expected time frame and took a look at my roof. All the other company quoted me to replace everything in the small area where the shingles were blown away from a previous storm. Luis came and told me that only two piece of tile was blown to the side and he just put it back for free and told me nothing needed to be done. We chose L&R roofing to do a complete replacement of the underlayment on our tile roof. Their communication was top notch - I always heard back very quickly on questions, scheduling plans, etc. In addition, the team who did the actual work were always on time and completely cleaned up after themselves, which was very important to us since we have a 2 year old son (didn't want to worry about a mess afterwards when he goes to play outside!). I'm leaving this review even though I didn't end up choosing L&R and the only reason I didn't was because another company happened to offer an additional unrelated service we needed at the time. I would have gone with L&R had that not been the case. They showed up quickly, didn't take up a bunch of time, and came back with a digital quote within a few hours. I can't believe these other guys are writing paper quotes like it's 1975 - some of the other quotes I had came from people who couldn't email and had to go to the fedex store to print my quote... ridiculous in this day and age. Luis is amazing! I needed an estimate after storm damage and of course he came right out and provided a free estimate. Instead of selling me work that didn't need to be done he was honest and informed me a gutter needed to be cleared to prevent any future issues and my covered patio should be just fine as is. I also had him quote some spray foam work I need done over an AC duct and he came in quite a bit lower than others. I'll definitely be using him for the duct work in the spring because once again his honesty came through stating I might as well wait as we don't have much hot weather left for now. I usually don't post in here about services because most services these days are just average. I do have to mention one company. LR Roofing Solutions. We had a leak on our roof over our garage. It started about a year ago. It wasn't until this last major storm we had that I decided to get it fixed. I called four companies. Two couldn't get an estimator out for 4-6 weeks, seriously? One could get someone out next week and the other, LR was out the next day. Luis was beyond professional. He did an inspection, emailed me that night with a quote and had another guy come out two days later to get a material estimation. Everything was smooth thru his office personal and payment was easy, by check. You can save the 3% CC fee by paying cash or check. The next week his crew was out and fixed everything, cleaned everything when they left and came back the next day to touched up a few areas and painted the new vent tubes. Outstanding character and integrity.  It's easy to earn a great review when everything goes right.  Very few can claim the same after an experience such as what I share here.  If you're looking for a great roofer that stands behind their word, Luis and L&R Roofing should be your choice.  From Yelp, I interviewed 14 roofers.  Luis was the first I met.  He told me that the best solution in my case was to replace the existing three roofing systems with a foam roof.  All the other roofers agreed. Regarding cost, Luis was in the middle of all quotes.  Which is exactly where he said he'd be.  He explained that he understands his market and prices fairly for a great product.  He went on to explain how important his reputation is and how he focuses first on customer results knowing that profits will follow.  Little did we know at the time just how much his words would be put to the test! Since my home also had quite a bit of drywall repair on the ceilings going on, the underside of the roof could be seen in many areas from inside the house.  Showing Luis this, I negotiated with him.  Since his bid was in the middle and higher than my lowest bid, I suggested that I'd give him the business but asked in return that he include all wood that needs to be replaced.  From my perspective, being on a very tight budget, I wanted to limit my risk while choosing a quote that wasn't the lowest.  Being able to see so much of the roof top and bottom and wanting to help me out, Luis agreed. Due to my business travel, I requested the crew begin upon my return.  I wanted to be there to understand and inspect the roof wood with Luis. As I rolled up to my house after my trip I found a roofing crew started early.  They had already torn off the old roof and were just finishing spraying on the foam roof.  "Oh no!!!"  I stopped them and discovered that in addition to not addressing a number of items discussed with Luis, they hadn't replaced any of the roof's wood. The crew made an honest mistake.  They showed me what Luis had texted them.  He properly told them what needed to happen, but they did not fully understand the importance of the start date until they read his note again.  Luis came over and first suggested that we tear off the foam just in the areas that we think had the largest issues.  Seeing my non-verbal response, Luis smiled and said, "Ok Jack, I get it...we'll start over."  Without fighting, without being ugly, without being anything but a good man wanting to do the right thing, Luis in that moment committed to expanding a 2-3 day job to at least 6.  In that moment, I thought to myself, "This job just became a financial loss for Luis." For 2 days, the crew worked tirelessly removing the new foam.  It was hard work. Yet, they always were cheerful and apologetic that they had made the mistake.  After all the foam was off, I went up on the roof and to my somewhat horror, found the plywood underneath to be generally speaking...all in terrible condition.  The crew even mentioned to me how bad the wood was and that they too felt that a lot or even all of it needed to go.  Even to the extent that perhaps it's the worst they've ever seen.  Dread I thought.  Luis agreed to replace all wood that needed it and by the looks of it, ALL of it might need to be replaced.  With that prospect, I contacted my brother-in-law.  He's a supervisor on custom home construction sites.  A good man with a flair for no-BS.  I wanted to be fair to Luis so I needed a knowledgeable person to advise me on what needed to be done.  Early in the morning, he and I went on the roof.  A few walks around and he said, "Jack, this is all crap and needs to be replaced."  So you understand, think about walking on plywood that is so dilapidated that you need to watch your step so you don't fall through.   My heart sank.  Now, I would need to go to Luis and hope he would honor our agreement to replace 'all' the wood.  Luis and I spoke by phone.  Naturally, he was disappointed, but in that moment where a person has a number of options and ways to wiggle out of what was agreed, he didn't.  He essentially said that he made a deal that he probably should not had made, but would stand by his word.  He said, "Jack, I want you to be happy and I want you to feel as though we delivered what was promised."  If you've read this far, I truly hope you understand the character and integrity it takes to say something like what Luis chose to say. In the end, the crew replaced 70 sheets of plywood, put down an amazing roof and were the nicest group of workers a homeowner could ask for.  True to his word, the original contract price never changed! I truly hope this review makes it easy for you to choose L&R Roofing.  Luis jokingly has assured me that he'll never deviate his negotiations this much from his standard business practices again.  However, while you might not get the same 'deal' I'm sure you'll get the same value, character and integrity.   Thanks Luis! They were professional with the contract paperwork, proof of insurance, ROC registration, and references. All paperwork was provided via email and they use electronic signatures and payment (if needed) to speed up the process. Their pricing was very competitive. While I can't speak to the work that the company performs, I can say this is an honest company. I had a different company suggest I replace the underlayment under my tile roof because it looked like it was deteriorating and in bad shape and that it was very old... I decided to get a second opinion. Luis the president came out to my home quickly and as scheduled.... and took a look at various sections of the roof ... and informed me that while he could not tell with certainty how old the underlayment is (which is understandable because its not really possible to tell how old it is with certainty) but he said it's in good shape and does not need to be replaced. I will definitely keep his business card and not hesitate to contact this company in the future if I need roof repairs or maintenance... or when the eventual day does come to replace the underlayment . I recently had 4 shingles fall off the side of my roof. I called multiple companies who did not answer and then I reached out to Yelp for some help. I sent a request for a quote to a few companies. Some companies told me there was a minimum charge of $250, some said $400, others couldn't come out for 2 weeks, and one even had me send a photo of the damage, in which I never got a text/call back. Luis emailed me back within minutes of sending the request. He was at my door within 1 hour and he did not charge me to assess the damage. He had the shingles at his warehouse and was able to come back the next day to fix my roof!!! He even sent me a photo of the completed job. Wow! So impressed with this company. We are selling our house and needed to fix some things on the roof for the buyers per the inspection. I had a leak where the chimney meets the roof, and was able to get my homeowner's insurance to cover it after the deductible. I called L&R Roofing Solutions and Luis was able to come out the same day to take a look at it. Within a few days L&R had repaired the roof. What merits five stars is that they stayed within the budget given by my insurance, but still repaired more than what the insurance company was willing to admit was the problem.
