I rented a walk behind concrete saw from Ahern. After unloading the 250 lb saw at the jobsite, I…read morestarted it to the sound of a glorious ringing racket. I immediately turned it off, and noticed the 18" diameter diamond was completely loose. The nut was barely threaded on. Luckily, I had a 1.25" wrench in my truck and was able to tighten the blade. I then fired up the saw and began to cut, I quickly noticed the cut was super wide, and the concrete was chipping. I stopped the saw again to investigate and I realized the blade was bent. I now had a damaged concrete slab, had to stop work for the day, and drive 30 mins each way to swap out the saw. That's two hours of travel time, plus diesel fuel, and an hour waiting for the rental exchange and paperwork. Ahern rentals was kind enough give me a $39 discount for my trouble, along with an attitude throughout my dealing with them. In my opinion, a $39 discount in exchange for my diesel fuel, 3 hours of my time, loading and unloading a 250 pound machine, and having a damaged slab is inadequate consideration for their negligent blade installation, failure to inspect their machine for proper operation prior to rental, and the damages They caused to my business. If you must do business with Ahern, please do so cautiously!

First, Antonio the owner was VERY communicative. We spoke a lot about out bathroom tile and what was needed. I send him a lot of photos and he always texted or called. I hired Antonio based on our conversation and he immediately had us meet him at a tile store in Modesto. We had white ceramic tiles and grout that were from 1999 and this we upgraded to a slate style tile with dark grout that won't get nasty like white grout.**= We talked options and selected our tile. We received a quote and in the end the quote was just about spot on. He contacted me each day letting me know when the crew was coming. His crew (met 4 of them over the week) were all polite and professional. They do speak English as their second language but Antonio constantly communicates to make sure all is well. In the end we got the bathroom look we wanted at a reasonable price. Any comments about lack of communication are just not the case in my experience and there are always people who aren't good clients. Fortunately I saw the reviews after I hired him and while concerned, I soon realized I had a great guy to get the job done. We are very pleased and we are having him do our entire kitchen counters next. 5 stars for 2024! See before and after shots. Floor still is drying until Friday but you'll get the idea.
