Everything is laid out nicely and in a tidy way that makes it appeasing to look at and really easy to find what you need. The staff here is also really helpful whenever you need to find some thing. This past time my husband and I were looking at faucets to replace my father-in-law's kitchen faucet and though we didn't buy one this time, they do have a good selection available. My daughter really liked looking at their summer items which was more oriented towards pool or water fun stuff. She ended up suckering me into buying her a pool noodle haha. I like their gardening selection, as someone who's a newbie in that field I feel that it's not overwhelming and it has exactly what you need and nothing past that. I actually found this adorable elephant watering can here as well, and I have a best friend who loves elephants so I had to grab it for her. I was also able to find two small watering cans which are perfect for my young children to use. Check out is always a breeze, they never have a line whenever I've been and the cashiers have been wonderful as well. This past time we went the cashier had asked if it was OK to give my daughter some candy and I said yes. I don't typically think about allergies because I know my kids don't have any but just the fact that she even asked if my daughter had any allergies, it was like an 'oh yea' moment for me and I appreciated her asking because the next parent may have a child with allergies. Overall my experiences here have been really quick and easy but pleasant. Anytime we come out here to Patterson my first thought for any home improvement projects around the house are 'let's go to Ace Hardware' now.

They work fast and efficiently to help with any questions and check out is always fast. We recently purchased our outdoor patio umbrellas when they were on sale with the base. They were more affordable then the Walmart ones we purchased and ended up returning those. Staff helped load the bases up in the car since they were heavy. Will continue to return when needing any item for home improvement.

Went to my local store in Turlock (who are full of very nice helpful people by the way) - but they…read morewere out of what I wanted. They've always carried it and they were out a week or so ago, so I thought SURELY it's back in stock by now several days later, since it has a relatively high and steady turnover rate, and I was told it would be there by the next Thursday I believe, and it was Sunday. Inventory said they had 2 (after fresh restock? That should have been my first clue), but they had none. Was told by a helpful employee after checking how many were at each store at the moment. It was closing time so the next day I went to the next closest store a few towns away (Ripon), that was also supposed to have some. Nope, none. When I got to the store a clean cut gentlemen had his eye on me and stepped up to say "Help you find something?", you know, that "I don't trust this guy" style when there's 3 other regular employees standing right there? I found out later he was the regional manager, "Kevin". Guess what? Also not the electronic inventory claiming 2 - in fact, again, none at all. At this point I'd learned my lesson about the alleged inventory that the electronic tracker claims, so I was about to have them call the other stores for me, however, Kevin the Regional Manager said he was just at the Oakdale store and he "knew" that they had some. So I Drive from Ripon to Oakdale (which was awesome due to an emergency road black and detour on HWY 120 that detoured us back to River Rd., causing a 20 minute wait at each overloaded country stop sign from Ripon to Oakdale. lovely ;-) "knowing" at least I'd finally get my product. I bet you know what's coming next, don't ya? Yep, instead of the 4 inventory claimed, Mmm Hmm, none (thank you TSC's electronic inventory tracker! ;-). Even though Regional Manager Kevin said he was "just there doing inventory and knew that they had some". The two employees I was talking to there at the Oakdale store looked at each other with "that" look of "Mmm Hmm, here we go again", the one employee said "I'm sorry, I usually handle that area and I was just back there as well, we don't have any, we've been out of that for about 4 weeks." Wonderful. Moral to the story? No matter WHAT the electronic "inventory", OR, even the "Regional Manager" says - CALL first, if not, hours and over 100 miles of round trip later, you STILL won't have what every store was supposed to have. At $6 per gallon of gas, that call will save your wallet from some serious thinning and weight loss. For the record, in my personal experience anyway, all the regular employees at all the stores were of good stock - polite and helpful - zero complaints with any of them, never have, but clearly the system they rely on needs help and makes them look bad.

Having Big Creek Lumber at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater is a real blessing. I've gone through a…read morecouple significant 6' redwood fence projects since Big Creek located at CAFB in Atwater. There has NEVER been a problem with my wanting to pick my own lumber to ensure I get what I want. The first time I went there, I had been to the big box stores in Merced and was very disappointed with the lumber selection. So I decided to stop at "that new lumber yard" at Castle. WOW! Their redwood is WAY better than you could pick at the big box stores. I don't even bother going into Merced to look at lumber anymore--I go straight to Big Creek. One unsolicited suggestion here...when you find a lumber yard that will let you pick your own lumber, please be a polite customer and stack the wood you don't purchase back in the original stack so it is pleasing to the eye and not a mess for the employees to clean up. Some places don't let you pick through a stack of lumber so why leave a mess and encourage Big Creek to change their policy? ALL the employees have always been helpful, kind and polite. That's a nice touch. I can't tell you how many times an employee has helped me find something at Big Creek. This includes the employees working in the yard. On a recent visit, the wood I was looking for was stored way out in back. One of the yard employees brought a stack of wood on a forklift from the back to the front part of the yard where we were able to pick our lumber. Nice touch. I wish I knew names, I'd certainly like to give them credit where credit is due! A fairly recent addition to Big Creek is a line of select Traeger grills (wood pellet smoker-grills). Although I didn't buy my Traeger at Big Creek, I do shop at Big Creek for other things Traeger (sauces, rubs, and especially pellets). Big Creek stocks a wide variety of Traeger wood pellets at good prices. Have a pellet grill and need pellets? Stop by Big Creek and pick them up! One of Traeger's big hits (in my humble opinion) is their Turkey Kit. The kit includes a 20 pound bag of rosemary-infused pellets, an orange brine mix and a rub for the turkey. I followed the Traeger recipe (pretty easy) for Thanksgiving dinner. When the turkey was served, the unanimous comments around the table were that it was the best turkey anyone had eaten. WOW! But this Turkey kit is not easy to find without having it shipped to you. Big Creek now stocks the Turkey Kit! (Thank you, Big Creek!) Traeger fans celebrate! Big Creek is your local Traeger supplier. And if you're cooking a bird, try the Turkey Kit. You won't be sorry. I appreciate Big Creek's Traeger support so I do my best to support Big Creek by buying my Traeger supplies at Big Creek. Please consider joining me in supporting a great "small business" in our community. You won't be sorry! (And pick up a Traeger Turkey Kit!) For the past couple of month, I've been going to Lowe's and Home Depot for house projects. And so…read morethis is my overall review of how Lowe's is. Products: 3/5 So the products they offer in terms of appliances and small DIY projects are good. Though, anything in regards to landscaping, it is pricey. So I would recommend going to Home Depot as they offer better deals. This Lowe's is pretty misleading. For instance, there is a gazebo inside the store that I inquired about because there was a $200 reduction fee; and customer service tells me it hasn't been available for 3 months. That is misleading. Because why would you have the gazebo with the product listing as if it is still in stock? And for 3 months. This is the same issue we had with their sheds. Customer Service: 2/5 It varies. When I go to gardening or even at self checkout it is good. I will say that it is pretty messed up that Lowe's lets their elderly employees work in the cold while the younger employees are inside. Just saying. Other than that, the customer service center could use some work. There are a couple of employees who are very nice and helpful. But the ones that could use extra training, it is memorable and should be noted. I'll give you an example. There was a girl in customer service who I was returning the Bissell Carpet Cleaner rental. She noted that the bottom of the rental was dirty. I didn't know you were supposed to clean that spot. She offered me a broom to clean it, but I declined and said I'd pay the extra cleaning fee. [I had other errands to run and didn't have all the time in the world to clean it.] Immediately, she was annoyed and quickly tried to get rid of me. However, I had another transaction which I had to bring up. Please note. I am 7 months pregnant and 5ft tall. I ordered two 6' tables and 8 chairs. They brought out my order. And she didn't even allow me to bring my car up to the front so I wouldn't have a hard time. In fact, I hauled my order to my car. What have I learned? Even though I'm pregnant, I'm less lazy than some of the girls in customer service. To Lowe's, I had to point this out because if you keep hiring more people like this girl, I am certain you will lose more customers. Website/App: 4/5 The app is pretty nifty. It keeps track of your receipts and so on. I think that's clever, because I lose my receipts quite easily. The app is nice in that it can help me locate the items I need if I go to the store or if I order online it lets me know when my order is ready. The main issue I have is when there is a high volume that the Lowe's employees don't immediately set aside when you place the order. Because the app will charge your card/bank account. And when they are out of stock, they force cancel it. And it takes awhile. So, that is something Lowe's needs to work on.
