When walking by Huguette on a tour of Saint-Germain my guide called it out as a good restaurant,…read moreknown for its seafood. Shortly after the tour I sent him a WhatsApp message asking again what the name of that recommended spot was, then made my way there.
I didn't ask a whole lot of Huguette at lunchtime and, since I didn't focus on fresh seafood I possibly didn't get the best of their offerings. Drinks, French Onion Soup, and Fish & Chips were all that I sampled in this casual bistro and though perfectly fine, this meal was easily forgettable if not for the huge, apron-clad polar bear out front welcoming guests to Huguette.
Nothing about my experience here would dissuade me from returning for more drinks and - because it appears a specialty - some fresh oysters. On the flip side though, nothing I sampled would cause me to run right back. From what I tried, it was difficult to understand why my guide had recommended Huguette at all.
Good enough, but I do imagine there's better meals to be enjoyed in the area.
