Unfortunately, i didn't have a positive experience. I called them ahead to let me know that I'm running 10 min late. I drove all the way to the crossroads and they called me back when i was in bellevue that they may not be able to see me. In addition, additional instructions would be great informing that they are located in a larger salon space and their policy on grace period. Very unprofessional. The receptionist called me and said, we may not be able to see you depending how much hair you have. I got here 13 min late and she didn't even see me and said, we can't see you. I went inside anyways, their door is locked and no one was was there. Wow! That is just ridiculous to read comments about prices! Let me explain, any time Elena does blond she uses at least one bonder and one treatment! And those are already included in the price. Just because Lena isn't the one who burns hair just to get the look. Elena cares about health of your hair as much as the looks. Anywhere else you they will charge you so much more for the treatment Lena adds without even making a big deal out of it. Lena would never do any aggressive color change without proper treatments. Any time I get hair cut or any treatment for my hair Elena and her stuff do so much more like ampules, masks, serums, etc. for no extra charge!!!! The results are real, the photos are not fake! I just want to put that out there. My stylist was cindra and she was amazing. These ladies really know what they're talking about. I got the fusio scrub and fusio dose, I did overestimate the longevity of the treatment, but the results were unbelievable and my hair has actually been healthier looking even though the extreme shine eventually wore off. Definitely recommend it. I was also not super happy with the style we initially agreed upon once the haircut was done, and they very sweetly made the time to course correct to make sure I'm happy when I walk out. 10/10 for service and skill. The owner of the salon and head stylist Elena was extremely rude to me in the beggining, I tried to tell her how I want my hair to look like and she started yelling at me that she has 20 yrs experience and saying how dare I tell her what to do, which was odd, bc usually clients are supposed to tell hairstylists what look they would like..... It was very disturbing. But aside from that I gave her a chance bc I thought what if she is really good, who cares if she is rude, plus my stylist was booked for a couple of months....It was a huge mistake! I left with a red tint in my hair, which I SPECIFICALLY asked her not to do! The top of my hair was red, and the bottom was brown, I had asked her for an ashy ombre look....... My haircut was uneven and way too short. I paid 350$ anyway and left bc I didn't want to deal with her, she seemed like she was having a mental breakdown, she was yelling at other customers and acting crazy. Anyway, now I have to redo my hair with my original stylist :( Now that I have been looking at my hair more and more, it looks absolutely awful! I have orange spots on the top of my head... the roots are light red and spotty... Once again I asked for ashy ombre and absolutely no warm colors, my whole head is a tint of orangy-red....I will never step foot in that salon again. I will make sure to warn everyone about this place. As a decent business you should refund my money asap instead of asking me to come in and have her ruin my hair even more. I walked in to get a conditioning treatment and a haircut with almost waist length hair expecting it to be cut to bra length hair and I mentioned I wanted long, black shiny hair like ladies in the pictures on their IG. I also mentioned I wanted some facial framing to go with it. I ended up with slightly longer than shoulder length, full layered, choppy cut, my hair extensions can't even hide how bad it looks. I paid 325 dollars for the entire service including two products and tips and my hair is only slightly softer, and there is no shine. My hair has been very thinned out, and it will take 3-4 years to get it back to where it was. I've been crying every single time I look in the mirror, this is the worst hair cut I've gotten thus far. The facial framing isn't delicate looking, and the shorter layers puff out making it look like I have 2 blocks of hair, one chin length and one 5 inches longer, along with a thin V shape. Below are the interactions. I'm very sad because I really wanted to like this place. I definitely don't doubt skill and they are very lovely ladies, but I'm just very, very sad. Response: I explicitly said "Do not cut too much" right after pointing at the length in the front, which is above my breasts and the camera footage should have that. During my initial phone call to set up an appointment I said "I saw the lady with long black shiny hair, I want that!", I repeated this when we got to the salon. I have no idea why I have chin length layers at the back. I have no idea why is this included in "facial framing". I told Elena about the lady in IG who came to her for years and how much I wanted that hair. I did not know there couldn't be a correlation between what I wanted and what I got. I was trusting of Elena's judgement and skill, as I told her I did not care how much she charged as long as she delivered what I wanted, which in my particular case was a 3-4 inch haircut, with shorter pieces in the front. I would not expect the need to carefully point out that I did not want layers, as I never mentioned I wanted. My hair barely touches the length I showed in the footage as my first layer begins in my chin. There is a 10-14 inch distance between breast and chin. I had no layers before. I do not wear extensions every day, I just have them. Now I will have to wear them for the next couple of years until I can grow out my chin layer at the back up to my bra. I did not break into tears out of politeness, and this happens to most women who get disappointing results. There is no going back from a shorter haircut so there really is no point in doing so. The point in this is that hair dressers usually make sure they are cutting the ways and lengths their clients want them to before they start doing so, and I assumed due to how often you see the long, black haired lady that it was redundant for me to enter into details. I would not be devastated if the length was the one I pointed to, or maybe a bit shorter as long as it made sense. The haircut was something I absolutely did not ask for, and I ask for the same thing since 2015 (3-4 inch trim with facial framing) and I did not see how it would be different this time. I was wrong. What is the most disappointing is that I get reprimanded (like cancelling an upcoming glossing appointment after posting a review, but that's OK I guess) over something I will have to deal with every day as I wash my face just because I express my disscontempt. As I said, I do not question the skill, I'm just awfully (not exaggerating here) sad about my cut as it makes me look ugly. Elena sure can create beautiful cuts as you can see in IG and here, and she is so warming and nice, I'm just very sad I wasn't one of them. read more

I was wowed from the moment I stepped into this salon until the time I left. I had an amazing experience; from a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere to friendly and professional staff to a great (wait, that's an understatement) a perfect hair cut! I was greeted by both Elena and Polina and was shown around the salon, given a rope to change into so my clothes don't get dirty, offered my choice of tea which was served in a fancy cup and plate and even got to watch my own Netflix show as I waited. To start, Tammy colored my hair as I had some gray hair on the sides. This was my first time coloring my hair and I was a bit skeptical because I've seen other people's hair and it looked pretty fake. But once mine was done, it looked natural and really nice. You can't even tell my hair has been colored. Then my hair was washed and conditioned and I received a nice long scalp massage. I can still smell that amazing minty aroma that soothed and cooled my scalp. It felt amazing and I even fell asleep for a few minutes. Did I mention the lavender hot towel that was placed on my eyes? It felt heavenly! Following the color and scalp treatment, Tammy cut my hair. She took her time and really paid attention to what I wanted. She has a great personality and is very professional at what she does. I give this salon two thumbs up and highly recommend them. It was my first time going there, and sure enough I will be back. I have been a client at L'Etoile Parisienne for more than a year. I am sharing my feedback here for the first time because I know that I will not get any incentive from the salon. (The salon owners offer discounts for positive reviews, which is against Yelp's review guidelines). In short, though I appreciate Elena' and Polina's color expertise and advice, none should ever feel like I felt today. I am a working mother, stressed with the "new normal" of working non-stop and taking care of my family. When I came today for my appointment, I was asked to provide information on which hair products I used, why my hair looked like "I didn't wash it for 4 days" (!), whether I wash and rinse twice. I run out of Kerastase products I bought at the salon last time and I used what I had left... I felt so embarrassed like a little girl. Why not simply offer to wash hair with the right products and inform about the requirements before the appointment? Moreover, I wanted to have a short hairstyle and a much lighter color. My natural color is brown /dark blond. I have been recovering my hair after the damage was done in another salon for more than a year and that's why I came to L'Etoile Parisienne, knowing how knowledgeable they are about coloring. I learned that my hair is not good for light blond due to several reasons 1) a regular balayage/highlights will give yellow color without regular gloss appointments and using the right products in the right way, which is, according to Polina, unlikely, given my "lifestyle" (!!!), 2) the highly recommended air tough is not an option for me because I don't have time (it took 6 (!) hours last time with Elena), 3) blond shades I prefer are no longer in fashion (!) and dark tones are more popular. I was also ready to cut significant length to remove recovering ends, but the recommendation was to keep long hair... I felt powerless... I took time off at work (the first time in several months), came to take care of myself, and make a long-awaited change. Instead, I almost burst into tears. I never had such a bad experience and so much lack of empathy. I decided to leave and never come back. Overall, in my previous visits, I made several other observations. 1) When I had an appointment with Elena, I was overwhelmed with the amount of technical information and details. Though I appreciate subject matter expertise at my own work, having a conversation about the art of coloring at the molecular level for several hours is the last thing I need after an 80-hour workweek and childcare in between. 2) The number of time appointments usually took is another issue. It is a sign of excellence, of course. But it was a reason I decided to switch to another stylist at the same salon. 3) I also felt being pushed too much to get products at the salon... I understand the importance of the right products, but it is too much pressure. 4) Finally when I came back with damaged hair after "emergency" highlights at another salon I was being reminded about that at every appointment to the extent that it felt toxic... I always had mixed feelings after leaving the salon. So, all in all, very bad experience today. Again, none should feel like that. It is not just about expertise, it is also about empathy and helping your clients feel better and be in control. Simple steps like suggesting another hair wash or scheduling gloss appointments would help tremendously. Good luck! P.S. A follow-up on the response: The experience I had at your salon was not a consultation about at-home routine. I came for a balayage and haircut. Instead, I received a set of offensive and contradictory questions for 30 minutes. First, I was told that I should have washed my hair. Typically, this is the opposite for balayage. But I had to wash my hair because I felt it was too oily, but I did it once and I didn't use conditioner. The comment I received is that my hair looked like I was not washed for 4 days is completely inappropriate. Second, your conclusion that a part of my hair remains damaged because I didn't follow at-home routine due to my "lifestyle" is incorrect and derogatory. You didn't ask about any other factors such as my health history and my medication. Referring to my current work schedule as my lifestyle, i.e. a permanent condition, is also something that should not be even discussed or taken for granted. I am more concerned about how you made me feel about my ability to take care of myself than pushing back on my request for a short hairstyle and lighter color. This type of conversation with a client might be acceptable in Eastern Europe, but it should not happen in the U.S. read more

But, she was busy that day and i really needed my color done. So, i booked it with Epiphann, their new stylist. I told him what i liked and what i wanted to accomplish. I felt my hair was too blonde for my Asian face and i needed to tone it down. He really listened and did an amazing job on my hair. My hair is still blonde but it looks way more natural. I love it! Wow! I came based on a recommendation and I'm incredibly glad I did. I've been really struggling with finding a "me" kind of hairstyle that would make my daily interaction with my hair less of the ridiculous chore that it was (and it's not like I got good results out of the effort, either, plus hair and scalp health were not good). Apparently I like hair styles that are just not viable on my own head. I've certainly gotten good haircuts from other stylists in the past, but they all relied on styling (in particular, straightening) to continue looking good. That can be hard to do when you have no time due to children and work and such. I conveyed all my concerns and troubles to Elena who took the time to really look at my hair, my "color palette", face shape, overall style, etc. And styled my hair in a way that I would have been too chicken to consider, but worked out wonderfully. I've had my hair cut pretty short in the past and received very "meh" opinions from people, the consensus being that "long looked better on you". I resolved to never let it go shorter than chin length. That was more than ten years ago and I haven't strayed from that path. Until now. Elena cut it much shorter and implored me to stop straightening it all day every day. And... it looked awesome! And... everyone was spontaneously telling me how much they love it and how it's very "me" and how the color she chose was perfect. And daily styling is now trivial, and I always have a good hair day (which does not mean sleek and straight! I found out that it's apparently OK to have wavy hair be wavy and do its wavy thing). All the products that were used on me, and that I acquired were really good too. What is this magic? On a personal level, I really enjoyed interacting with Elena. She's very knowledgeable and skin and hair care, as well as fashion and style, and very cosmopolitan. Super interesting to talk to! The salon itself was nice. Professional, not pretentious and needlessly fancy or showy. Elena's daughter was very sweet and friendly as an assistant. I felt welcomed and like I'm in good hands. After seeing on social media reviews about this salon and hairstylist Elena decided to try them out. In December I made my first appointment to get a haircut. Elena asked me a questions like what I want to get done my hair cut, what kind of hair products I use and etc and I try to tell her what I want and finally I said I trust you you can cut my hair in the way how you can see and it will be good on me. She cut my hair in the way I've never seen, she used two brushes to cut my hair. The result was phenomenal- I don't even need to style my hair much and they still look amazing. I decided to give a second shot and made appointment for coloring my hair- airtouch technique. She spent with me almost 4,5 hours. The end result blew my away. I was so so so so happy with my hair. After doing much research for 3-4 months I wanted to give this place a try. I went for my hair color and cut consultation and instantly hit it off with Cindra. She is AMAZING !! On the day of service, I was unfortunately late because I could not find parking .. they already marked me as no show. I was almost at the verge of crying because they did not have any opening for a long time and I took a day off of work for this appointment. a As I suggested to take one service instead of two Polina and Cindra very kindly accommodated me. It's always more fraught than it should be when you need to find a new stylist. You give someone a shot and hope it works out. If you know the exacting professional standards of this salon it shouldn't be a surprise that anyone on the team would be excellent. In this case, I couldn't be happier with the talent I found in Caitlin. She's done my color touch-up 3 times and has cut my hair twice (..shame on me for not leaving a review before this). The touch-ups have been beautiful and has blended with the rest of my hair perfectly. It never looks like the roots are new color on top of a slightly faded mop. I also love love love the cut! I've been growing my hair out, but as it grows it gets heavy and loses shape. Caitlin has been one of the very few stylists who understand how to shape it up, without sacrificing the overall length.
