I appreciated that Atecia listened to every concern I had. Through the process of trying to pin where the alterations would go, she would consistently check in with me to see if the fitting was too tight or loose, whether I would like more coverage, and how I would like the design to be. I appreciated the time she took to hear ALL of my concerns -- I never felt rushed and I always felt respected by her. This is in contrast to other alterations places I had called (they all tried to rush me and make me commit to things I didn't feel comfortable with). In the end, she turned a strapless dress into a beautiful, long-sleeve dress that people kept commenting on as we did our wedding photoshoot. I had no idea that it was possible to do as much as she did through alterations. For example, I had bought the wrong colored bolero -- my dress was a bright white, but the bolero was an ivory color. She worked MAGIC to fix it, as you can tell from the pictures. She hand-made another bolero for me and made it seem like the bolero was always part of the dress. I was SO pleased with all her hard work. Another important and great part of doing business with Atecia is that she works very quickly -- she knows exactly what to do, and her turnaround rate is very quick. It was a busy wedding season in August but she was always so calm and patient, even when I had last-minute requests. I had to do some one-week-before-the-wedding alterations and she was very accommodating. She finished the work within two days and I was seriously wow-ed. For similar tailoring at other places I've been given outrageous quotes--went to a tailor to get the length of a dinner jacket shortened and the quote I was given was $80-100, on the other hand Ali's did that and more to a tuxedo jacket (pants alterations included) for about $120. Linda was an excellent tailor/seamstress then and does excellent dry-cleaning in her stores now. In addition to being a kind, fair and honest businesswoman, Linda has an eye and penchant for quality and pays to attention to the most minute details. She has expertly tailored evening gowns for our daughter, suits, dresses, and overcoats for both my husband and me and doesn't miss a beat with basic dry cleaning of everyday and luxury items. She's never "lost" high-priced designer item not does she make any mistake in tailoring. I've even had jeans tailored by Linda and initially thought she forgot to make alternations when she cleaned the items because the belt loops, seams and tags were put back exactly as I purchased them.
