Came here on Saturday morning since the family was craving a typical Colombian breakfast. It wasn't too busy which it was great since there was plenty of setting . I came here just for a little snack and to my surprise this restaurant has the best sancocho soup I ha e found so far. I get the hen soup and oxtail soup on Saturdays. This dish is so delicious my mom is so picky and lived it. I also get the short rib beef soup on Sundays. They do not make sancocho soup on any other days fyi. I also love the fresh juices they offer. I get the soursop, mango, pineapple and berry. The hostesses is very friendly and was helpful when I walked in. They also have a large seating area for families. The restaurant is very quaint and clean. Looks like a diner atmosphere but has a bakery as well in the restaurant with fresh pastries and breads. This has been a go to for me for years!!! A little taste of home. This place is located inside a plaza with plenty of parking. You won't miss it because the windows have a Colombian glad sticker all over them. When you walk in you have two options you can sit down and eat restaurant style or you can walk up to the counter and order cafeteria style. I usually just go up to the counter and order. The people at the counter are always so nice and efficient they want to get you in and out. My go to are always the empanadas and the jugo de lulo. The juice is made on the spot when you order it and the empanadas are always fresh and delicious. I like them so much that I have catered them for parties at my house. The restaurant has caught on to me almost like a hidden gem in plain sight. The service was nice. I found the restaurant to be 100% authentic in its identity, which I love and appreciate. I find it awesome to not be from a certain place, yet upon entering an establishment, you feel like you've teleported. For me personally, I find the food okay( my side salad came with no dressing) and the Chicharron isn't for me. Withthe menu can be a little confusing/too much going on. The spices are on point though .However, the GEM of the restaurant to me is the bakery . I honestly thought Argentinian empanadas were the best until I tried the restaurants empanadas. The calentado was tasteless and very expensive. $16+ for a pre-heated rice and beans, scrambled eggs (pericos) were tasteless because they are not made with scallions (green onions) as they should be made. The carne asada tasteless. The arepa once it's cold is hard as a rock because they are made from areparina flour instead of real corn. Price does not included coffee or hot chocolate. Thank god we only ordered one portion to share. The only good thing about this joint is the staff is somewhat pleasant. What a rip off! will not be returning! read more

This store is right off the main road (Pine) in the middle of a very long shopping center. There is plenty of parking in front of the store. Be careful because people drive very quickly through the parking lot and don't pay attention to pedestrians. They have a large seating area with about 20 to 30 four person tables. I do not know if there is table service. We ordered at the counter. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The patrons were even more helpful and gave us several suggestions. We tried 3 different types of their empenadas (chicken, meat and cheese) and cafe con leche. The food was very good and the price was reasonable. Being that I am a pure gringo, I do not know much about the difference between Cuban, Columbian, Dominican, or Peruvian food. When you walk in, there is a counter directly in front of you, some dessert options of the left, and 20-30 tables on the right. If you are eating in, you can seat yourself. They have TVs playing Spanish news, and there waiter spoke to us in Spanish. Lucky for me, he knew enough English to take my order without issue. We were helped almost immediately upon sitting, and he took our drink orders while giving us menus. The service was very good. The one set back for me, which seems to be standard practice in Spanish lunch spots, is that the soda is served in a can so there is no free refill. I ordered fajitas and my friend ordered chicken with vegetables. Mine came with red beans, rice, and french fries. I believe you chooses your kind of potato. So for less than $13, you get a huge plate of fajitas, rice and beans, and a potato side of your choice. The pricing seems like great value. The food came out quickly, and was very good. I not this is not a traditionally Columbian dish, but it was still very tasty and filling. My friend enjoyed his as well, and we both agreed we would not hesitate to come back. Staff is wonderful, why the one star? Last week we were there and I notice an extra charge on my receipt thats said CC. I asked and the owner has decided to charge customers the Credit Card charge the business gets charged on each transaction. This is part of doing business, so why get so greedy and flip the charge to your customers? Many people are unemployed and are having a hard time with bills, and this owner decided to add an extra charge to their customers that should be theirs... last time I'm coming to this place. Tried this place for the first time a few months ago, and the baked goods were average at best (we ordered about $30 worth and sampled quite a bit). After waiting for about 5 mins at the takeout line, I took a few steps forward, right behind the person who was in front of me, to see what cooked stuff was available. A middle aged man then called out to the lady that came after me, and I told him I came first. The nice lady said the same to him. He refused to serve me and said I was not in line. I tried explaining the situation and he gave me a hand gesture which pissed me off so much that I simply walked away. If you are not interested in my business, I will not give you any. The place was spacious and bustling with music and people enjoying their meals (I went around lunch time on a Sunday). I explained what I wanted to eat, and they kindly pointed out the different options on the menu. I ended up getting the chicken breast, which came with a salad and beans on the side. The lady helping me packaged everything with care. The portion size was very generous and worth the money. Everything was tasty, fresh, and perfectly cooked.
