Another hidden gem in the JV area. I had La Argentina bookmarked for a while, my husband and I had a date night and were headed home from dinner, we decided to stop by since it was on the way home. Greeted by a sweet young lady, she asked if we would like to sample any flavors to let her know. I sampled the tiramisu and the pistachio flavor which were both excellent. I ordered a small affogato with the pistachio gelato. The hot espresso was rich and bold; the pistachio ice cream was nutty and creamy. When the hot espresso melted the gelato, it had this gold-like toffee color and tasted delightful. La Argentina also served food and coffee, I checked the food menu and intrigued to try their empanada and quiche. The place is kept clean and is in tight niche. I cannot wait to come back to try different flavors of gelato, pistachio coffee and other food items!

Tasty pastries and creamy gelato. They usually have at least 20 fresh gelato flavors, including seasonal option like a Grinch flavor. A small is 2 scoops/$6. You can also order your favorite gelato as a base for a milkshake, specialty cup, or a brownie sundae. The perfect spot for something sweet before a show at the neighboring Good Friend Theater, or get some aggression out at Tex Axes.

Amazing coffee and delicious desserts! It was our first time here, and the guys behind the counter were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their drinks and pastries! We really appreciated their advice. I got the pistachio latte, and my baby ordered the tiramisu latte. We customized both with coconut milk, and they were so good! We also tried the super dulce de leche gelato and it was so flavorful and absolutely delicious. Plenty of parking and the place was spotless inside. We'll definitely be back! Check out the photos below and see for yourself self.

Cute and clean little spot. Barista warmly greeted us, and because it was our first time here, took the time to go over our coffee-flavored options. I ended up getting the Tiramisu and my husband got the pistachio late. Mine was delicious! Have to come back to try the gelato!

Beef empanada, ice cream, affogato is so good with salt caramel ice cream. We are glad to find this place and love their empanada and ice cream selections. Although, I wish their empanada is a bit bigger. Service is quick fast and friendly. Store is clean, nice, and new. Overall, we cannot wait to try more ice cream flavors here. My favorite is their tiramisu, pistachios, and salted caramel.

Super clean and quaint gelato shop! Came there closer to closing time but they still had all flavors available. Service was quick too. I ordered the Belgian chocolate and a peanut butter flavor. The gelato was a nice consistency and tasted great.

I found myself on the other side the city today for business. But when I was done, I was very interested in trying new businesses around the area. One place that stood out before I drove home was La Argentina. I believe a friend briefly informed me of it in conversation plus of the items to try. Initially walking in, the store is bright and a nice layout that is very fitting of a coffee and gelato shop. I was greeted and observed the menu plus their offerings. Through a suggestion, I chosen the affogato and empanadas. The affogato typically has vanilla ice cream but was creative to instead go with the super dulce de leche. That was a great choice. The empanadas I chosen one beef and spinach with feta. They were hot, crispy and the filling was flavorful. Also having the chimichurri on the to add on was perfect. Overall this was a very pleasant experience at La Argentina. My friend from Chile actually recommended I visit. I was surprised I had a moment today and had a flashback of that conversation once I saw the name. The staff are very friendly and informative. I appreciated the recommendations when I was there but also were the choices my friend told me too. My only issue with La Argentina is location. I do not live close by the business and I would love this as a great neighborhood local cafe with Argentinian passion and flavor. I may not be within the area but if you are in Cypress on Jones Rd, you have to stop in. I have one word for it: excepcional

Great local spot for coffee and treats.. so many good options it was hard to decide savory or sweet. Went with the savory and tried the chicken and beef empanadas and was deliciously delighted. Will definitely be going back next time I am in the area.

Came in with a coworker for a sweet treat. The cafe is very pretty, there's quite a bit of seating options as well. The barista was very helpful and friendly, she let us sample all the flavors we wanted. I ended up ordering the Strawberry Cream gelato and it was very good. My coworker had a caramel latte and she said it was good but slightly too sweet for her. They have a pretty large menu and some food options to try. I'll definitely be back to try more things!

Needed a refreshing sweet treat after some athletic activity... I opted for the mango and strawberry flavors. Good sized scoops and both flavors didn't taste artificial. I think I preferred the mango over the strawberry!

The wife and I have been driving past this place for a couple of months waiting for it to open. We noticed the now open sign last week and decided to hit them up this morning. Walking in we noticed how bright and clean it is. Plenty of seating and space. We were greeted by a couple of friendly faces behind the counter who took our order and went to work on our drinks/food. I had the latte and my wife had the cappuccino. We also got two empanadas (beef and onion/cheese) to share. Everything was delicious. We look forward to coming back in the near future to try some of the dessert offerings.

This family owned business is a must visit! The coffee is great, the empanadas are delicious. And the gelato is out of this world! The store is hidden a little off Jones in a strip center next door to Fred Astaire.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

You're paying for the K-Pop Demon Hunter pop-up aesthetic, the upbeat vibes, the fast service, the themed menu. The desserts? Solid. The Pinky Up Parfait hits. One scoop of cappuccino ice cream comes generous and tasty. Nothing disappoints. But nothing revolutionizes dessert either. This is good execution in service of a limited time experience, not destination-level pastry work. And that's fine. That's exactly what a pop-up should be. The real draw is that everything works together. Vibe, music, service, and desserts that don't let the side down. It feels fun, not gimmicky. That's harder to pull off than you'd think. Bottom line. Pop-ups don't stick around. If the K-Pop theme is your thing and you want solid desserts in a fun environment, go now. If you're just looking for great desserts, permanent spots do it better.

I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.
