We visited for the first time during some really cold weather on a Sunday. We came in for a cup of coffee, but ended up trying the chocolate chip pancakes, and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything was incredibly fresh, including the pancakes that were made right in front of me. To have fresh fruit on the side was a nice touch. The service was great and the restaurant was very cozy. I actually tried it years ago when it first opened, liked it fine back then, but for whatever reason never made it back... until today. Now I remember why. To be fair, the staff was hustling hard--everyone looked like they were running on pure adrenaline trying to keep up, and they were still friendly despite the chaos. No complaints there; they're clearly doing their best. The place itself is tiny and feels cramped even when it's half-empty. Tables are squeezed together, and the ceiling (yikes) is absolutely caked with years of dust and cobwebs. I couldn't stop staring up at it while I waited, and it honestly made my skin crawl a little. Menu is huge and looks promising, but I just wanted a simple London fog (it's not even listed, but most coffee shops can make one). What I got tasted like faintly-earl-grey-flavored hot water with a splash of milk. I watched them make it--they literally just dropped a tea bag in a cup, poured hot water, added a quick shot of vanilla syrup, and handed it over. No steeping, no real effort. For almost $6, it was honestly insulting. I finished maybe a third of it out of politeness and bolted. Two stars instead of one because the employees were trying and the place has clearly been a neighborhood staple for a long time, but everything else felt tired and neglected. I loved this quaint little coffee shop! It's a must try if you live in the area. I met the owner Linda and we had a nice conversation! She was telling me what inspired her to open the shop and how long she's been there. She also explained that the food is made without preservatives and the quiche was made with cage-free eggs among other things. I tried the chocolate chip pumpkin muffin. It was so much better than expected! Super moist and delicious. Many coffee shop muffins I've had are really dry, but I think she has a really good local supplier and she also seems to really take pride in her shop and the quality of her food items and coffee. I also had a lavender chai with almond milk. Not bad! Linda explained to me the difference between espresso drinks and coffee and to my surprise, espresso has less caffeine than a regular coffee, so I'll be trying that next time. Never come here because the owner treats customers like sh*t! They weren't nice at all, my friend wanted a Americano hot but then switched it to ice and they weren't happy about it, they tried to argue back. I ordered a Caramel Ice Latte and the coffee is so so bland. Even myself could make it better. When we sat down and tried to study, they told us to move over like hello?? What sold me on it was the Purple Rain frappe. I'm a Prince enthusiast and figured I'd give it a try. I'm not above expressing my dissatisfaction and walking out, so I knew I'd be okay. I was greeted warmly by Alison; she was the only person present - no Laura or Linda. I saw smoked salmon on the board and was sold. Unfortunately, Alison said she was out of smoked salmon (heartbreak), but since I was enamored by the caper cream cheese, she asked if I'd like that with a bagel and the herb salad. As an occasional vegetarian, this was fine. I ordered this, the Purple Rain subbing chai in place of coffee, and a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin. I sat at the large round table to work and munch. I was the only customer for a while. Alison's playlist made for a groovy work environment. About five customers came in while I was there; they seemed to be regulars. The one who stayed awhile sat at the table I was occupying. There were more tables and my introvert self wished he'd sat elsewhere, especially since he kept coughing, but perhaps I was in his spot. I stopped by here for a short time and was greeted by very nice folks working behind the counter. I ordered a coffee with espresso. The coffee is just fine. What stands out here are the baked goods and the hospitality. They have a small selection of bakery items but what they do have is better than a giant bakery of goods. The lemon poppy muffin was amazing. If i had the recipe, I would open my own shop and rake in the money! On second thought, I would probably eat all the muffins along with all the profits! The shop is small, warm, and friendly. The customers are also very nice. Parking is easy. There is a giant lot with plenty of spaces. Price-A little hefty for me for the coffee, but they could pretty much charge me an arm and a leg for the muffin and I would still get it! It's been a while since I've frequented this cafe, but it's definitely changed since the last time I was here. The cozy couch they had is no longer here, which kind of sucks since my intention to come here was to study. It's been replaced with a round table, which isn't bad, but it's inconvenient. The service I received was less than satisfactory. The older lady, I guess she's the owner or the manager, was very unwelcoming and had a terrible attitude. For her complaining about not having business and being so slow they have to close, she sure isn't helping that issue at all. When I used to come here the atmosphere was always comforting and warm. If I'm going to pay almost 10$ for a muffin & tea, I might as well go somewhere else. She was extremely rude about me getting tea & then when I asked for some honey & which milks they had, she very nastily asked, "Is there anything else?" I thought maybe she was just having a bad day the first time (the shop was empty), but she was even more rude to me the second time. I ordered a regular coffee and she just pointed at the self-serve pots, but then practically slapped my hand away when I reached for a cup (stacked by the pots). She asked if I wanted anything in it and I said milk, and she rolled her eyes like that was an out-of-line request. I felt very uncomfortable in general, like she didn't want me there. Prices aren't listed on their board. Coffee was cold and weak. I like supporting local small businesses, but in this case...I won't be back. read more

Crescent Moon Coffee Bar is a cute, locally owned coffee shop with a lot of comfort built in. They aren't trying to be fancy or upscale, but what they do achieve is a level of coziness and community. I came in on a Sunday morning with my husband and we were greeted by two friendly ladies - one manning the register and coffee and the other serving up the food. We were a bit unsure of what to get, and while we stared at the menu on the wall the ladies were very helpful and they made great small talk. They made an effort to get to know us, and it was evident they knew other customers that came in after us. We ordered a espresso cold brew (yes, different than a coffee cold brew and from an iced latte), a hot caramel latte, and a southwestern style quiche. The lady helping with the food heated up the perfect looking quiche and put a side of salsa and fresh fruits with it. The other lady making the drinks was attentive and wanted to make sure that it was exactly how we wanted. The drinks were good and worth the price in addition to the quiche. They were also doing a special that day of biscuits and gravy that were extremely tempting. Crescent Moon is definitely worth a shot and a great place especially if you're a local. read more

This is an interesting coffee spot since it's not really in a high profile location, not at a major city intersection, and not even very visible from the road. I was looking for a new coffee spot along the Jones Rd area, and I mistakenly came here instead of another place further down the road. The service was okay, just not super friendly. I think it maybe caters to an older crowd or something. I tried the mocha latte and it was nothing special. I ended up having the barista add more vanilla syrup to it, to make it drinkable. I was able to sample coffee, plus I was more tired than normal so I decided to examine the menu and get some coffee. I went with a frappe, they also recommended the breakfast sandwich which is huge btw. I was even given fruit with my meal! I Walked into this little gem today. Yes, it was awkward. The chef and lady behind the counter are quiet. I introduced myself as a new customer and asked for them to explain to me how they operate since I saw no menu. The lady behind the counter explained to me how they operate and how to go about ordering my food, she walked me through getting my coffee and all about their local vendors. I don't think they are rude, people are made for different things. Though they may be great about their food, perhaps socializing is not something they are great but it does take two to tango. After I introduced myself they were talking and came to check on me once I was sitting. Food was good and different which I appreciate being that most people go to big chain places and food tastes the same. I paid 30 dollars for omelette, coffee and a slice of their delicious tart. Thought I've been to Cracker Barrel's as example and I've paid 20 bucks for a nice breakfast meal. However, their profits are much larger because they have so much more business, not to mention their overpriced merch. Small business have to still be able to profit and make a living and I support that. The ambience was a bit awkward when I walked in as most appear to be regular customers majority are elder. However, I didn't feel like a piece of meat so personally I was glad to walk into a place where people are looking at me morbidly.
