This is a nice and quiet coffee shop my husband and I was told to try out by one of his clients. It did not disappoint. We were greeted with the aroma of espresso and a nice young lady upon entering. She explained the sweetness levels and offered suggestions. The taste of my latte was more like a hot cocoa because I asked for full sweetness level(that's the way I like it). if you prefer more espresso taste, I advise on going down a sweetness level. Update: February 2026 Went back and found out they just stopped providing the teacher discount. It's a corporate thing is what the waitress informed me. I was disappointed to hear that so I had to bump them down. Summer Moon is a cool coffee shop! I love that they give teachers a discount for their coffee. Summer moon coffee is just not for me. I have tried several drinks here and it comes down to their moon milk. It just makes the drink too bland and too sweet. I recently got their Coconut Blueberry Matcha Moon Latte, and could barely taste any of the flavors it was so over saturated by moon milk. I just felt like I was drinking milk with a dash of flavor. I realize that every drink I get with moon milk feels similar, it's just overbearing for me and not my taste in coffee. The workers have all been relatively friendly. I have yet to go in as I always go through drive through. If you like your coffee creamy and milky then maybe this is the place for you, but def not for me. read more

The famous moon milk! My friends shared that Summer Moon had opened in the Cypress area and we were excited to try it out. The interior is beautiful and felt very open and welcoming. The feeling was mirrored by the kind barista, who gave us recommendations and answered our questions about the menu. I ordered the iced blue moon latte (comes with lavender) at the recommendation of the barista and my husband got the 1/2 winter moon latte. Basically "summer moon" = hot drinks and "winter moon" = cold drinks. The fractions reflect the amount of their signature moon milk and the remaining amount is nonfat milk. As expected, the drinks were super creamy and I really enjoyed the light but noticeable flavor of lavender in my drink, not overwhelming in the way that floral drinks can sometimes be! I'd love to try more menu items and ratios of moon milk (which they also sell in a standalone bottle if you want). read more

I'll definitely take pictures next time I go, but this is a great study spot!! I usually go to a coffee shop a little further out but this one was convenient, very clean, I love the decor and quiet. The ambience was absolutely perfect. The music wasn't too loud and it was mainly early 2000s music. There's a community bulletin board, which I thought gave it a really great local feel. I ordered the hot blueberry crisp latte with oatmilk and it was absolutely delicious! They do close around 7PM every day. Overall 10/10. Will be back! read more

This will be one of my new go tos for my matcha! The only thing that could make this place better would be more food options; ie breakfast sandwiches or muffins. The gentleman that helped us was extremely patient and accommodating. He described all the options to us and provided recommendations. I ended up getting the matcha moon tea with lavender syrup and almond milk and my husband got a 1/2 summer moon late with hazelnut syrup and almond milk. We both enjoyed our drinks very much. Ordered and iced vanilla matcha latte and felt like they forgot to add the vanilla syrup. Matcha flavor was very subtle. They accidentally made one with the moon milk and gave that to us for free and if you like your matcha sweeter I'd recommend getting it with that milk instead. I enjoyed this coffee. I like that they do not have a crazy menu. Finally a coffee shop that sells coffee. Their moon rise cream options are amazing and such a nice treat for added sweetness. I ended up going in my lunch break to grab an iced coffee. Ordered their iced blue moon latte. Not bad at all! It had a great flavor and a hint of lavender. While it wasn't my favorite latte, I am definitely excited to try another. One thing: I had to drive up to the window after waiting at the drive-thru speaker with no response. I had to call to get service after waiting at the window for a few minutes. Apparently, their drive-thru notifier isn't working well, still. I understood and ordered my latte and went on my way. This place opened last month I think and it is across the street from work so I thought I would try it out instead of going to Starbucks. When I walked in a couple was asking questions and ordering since I was heading to work I was a little annoyed that they had so many questions but the young lady behind the counter was helpful and very friendly. They have a lot to choose from for a coffee place. I ordered a coffee that they only had on drip but the young lady offered another if I couldn't wait. I ordered the one the young lady offered and it was pretty good. I also ordered a croissant that was much larger than an Starbucks. They forgot to give me my croissant so I waited longer than needed. All in all this is a nice place to have coffee but I believe they are still working a few things out which is fine. I will return when I have more time. read more

Some people will say it's just milk and sugar but no it has a different unique spin to it that's out of this world. I did go back using my bogo and the worker was helpful and accommodating. Amazing service as soon as you walk in the door with the feeling of a nice friendly contemporary coffee shop. So since this was our first time the cashier gave us a sample of their moon milk. Moon milk is what they use as their cream in most coffees and it had a very rich sweet flavor with a creamy texture. We immediately realized we wanted coffee with moon milk then we look at the pastries and breakfast options which almost look fake they were so delicious looking. We usually like our food to look great, smell great and taste great. After we ordered two Summer Moon Lattes, a sausage & cheese kolache, spinach & mushroom kolache, and a bacon & egg kolache we realized that they hit all three taste, smell and sight. As I stepped inside, I immediately noticed the heigh ceiling and the beautiful finished wood trimming all around. It gives off this modern chic with sophistication of simplicity. I love how openness of this coffee shop is, definitely giving off good vibes. And the pop of blue colors painted all around definitely gives off a nice brightness and color palette. I decided to try out a iced Matcha latte and there's 5oz of sweet cream and 5oz of non sweet cream inside the drink. I was very surprised at how creamy the iced latte is, but it's not too sweet. The really nice matcha flavor comes through as well. Note: With any drink you can always ask to change the amount of sweet cream that gets placed in your drink. Moon milk (sweet and slightly thick liquid creamer) and the iced coffee are also yummy together. The coffee I tried didn't have the slightly acidic aftertaste as expected in some black coffees. The coffee shop is small & not a lot of seating but the location is great for us. Easy in/out no matter what direction you are coming from. Coffee was good, miles better than Starbucks which was absolutely horrible the last time we were "forced" to stop there. I have stopped by the Summer Moon Coffee location in Cypress (8940 Barker Cypress Rd) a couple of times. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I sampled the moon milk (sweet cream) and was impressed. The only negative that I have is not with this location. It is with the Summer Moon app. Their app allows you to pre-order, however my app does not show the Barker Cypress location. When I mentioned that to the barista, she responded that a small number of customers have mentioned that. also, some sort of rewards program would be nice. read more
