The strawberry cream cheese here is very light and fluffy. The cream cheese with smoked salmon bits was okay. I was in the mood for bagels and found this place by chance. What a gem. There are SO many bagel choices , subs , etc. my bagel was fresh and the cream cheese was quality cream cheese. My bacon was cooked perfectly and they give you a nice amount for a side. This will now be one of my favorite bagel stops in the future . read more

As a New Jersey native, this is my go to spot for bagels and quick breakfast items. Reasons why this is my favorite: 1) huge assortment of bagels! They have every flavor you could want. But you should go early if you can because it's a popular spot and they run out of some items quickly 2) the service is fast! They have a really hardworking staff who do a great job and prepare your food very quickly and don't skimp on the portions. 3) huge breakfast/lunch menu. Pretty sure the entire menu is all day but they have a really large menu of sandwiches and wraps that you might be in the mood for for either breakfast or lunch. 4) very reasonably priced. You get generous portions and they don't skimp at all. Only con? Don't expect to sit down and eat, they have very limited space and they tend to be very busy especially in the mornings. I'm really torn about this review because I've been to this restaurant a total of three times. The first time was a few years ago and I don't remember loving it. But, upon a few recommendations more recently, I decided to give it another try. In the past couple weeks, I came here twice and both experiences were different. The first time I came, the bagel was really amazing; it had a crispy outside and soft inside, it was large in size, and tasted very fresh. The second time, I came back, again around the same time in the morning, and the bagel was smaller and not as crispy or fluffy. Both times I ordered the same thing which was an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Even the cream cheese was different the second time...there were barely any scallions the second time and the cream cheese just tasted very plain. I'm confused about the consistency of the two experiences but I'll be back again since it's so close to where I live, I think I'll give it a few more tries before I decide to either become a loyal customer or abandon hopes of it being good, consistently. This earned three stars from me purely because I did really enjoy my bagel the first time. The food is delicious. However, it could use a little salt. I ordered eggs, potatoes, and bacon and French toast. All was very good. Since I ordered Uber, they didn't send utensils after stating there was a need. They also didn't send salt nor pepper or napkins. This is important when ppl order, especially to a hotel. I miss this bagel place. I used to live around the corner from them. Tiny little parking lot off of route 27 so be careful driving. Classic NJ bagels. They can get really busy and chaotic sometimes. The service is hit or miss. A really good bagel. Not a write home to your mom stellar bagel but really good. No good coffee choices, pretty much only regular or decaf. No iced option. No specialty creamers. very confusing that they have multiple locations only separated by Roman numerals. We stopped in here quickly to get a bite to eat and I think it ended up being a mistake that we came an hour before La Bagel closed. When we walked in, we were told that we couldn't order off of the hot options menu. I was really feeling a panini so I was a bit disappointed. They really turned off the grill//panini press with a hour still left to go before they closed? Weird. We opted to get the Turkey Bacon club and it was okay but nothing special. (Also, we couldn't have bacon on it because the grill was off so it was more like a general Turkey club.) The other thing about La Bagel is the inside just feels really grimy and old. I just paid $10.54 for 6 bagels is a bit much specially when they aren't very good. I got 3 plain and 3 French toast bagels. It's the second time I stop in and have the same experience. The staff is rude at best. No hi, no thank you, no how can i help you. The few words that were spoken towards me were few and the woman that helped me had the-im doing you a favor and I hate my job attitude. Recently had a weird craving for a fresh breakfast bagel. Woke up today and was determined to find a spot locally and stumbled upon La Bagel. Going into the store, it was pretty clean and straight forward. I had ordered a wheat everything bagel with bacon, egg and cheese. It came out of be around $5.50 which was quite expensive especially it did not live up to its par. It took the girl 1 minute to get my sandwich and I knew she did not even toasted it as requested. I thought this was a pretty decent bagel spot. Stopped in for the first time on 11/4/17 for 2 cold cut sandwiches. They seem to be very popular as there was a pretty long line. The wait wasn't terrible but you have to make sure that you're in the right line. So I had to bring my car to the dealer for service today and while I waited I tried this place for the first time - I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a plain bagel and a medium coffee. Both were amazing. The coffee was smooth and rich. The bagel itself was really delicious! Both together it was like 6 bucks. Not bad. They have a super extensive menu too. OK. So, the bagels are delicious. I have to give them that. That's where it ends. You need to decide though, whether the bagels are worth the poor treatment you'll receive from a majority of the staff. Their conduct is completely deplorable. The staff is rude, condescending, obnoxious, uneducated and when you call them out on it they are downright belligerent. One member of the staff called my friend one of the filthiest words in the English language, in Spanish, to her face when her order was incorrect and she requested it be fixed. There doesn't seem to be any responsible Manager on site. Ever. Very disappointing. OK so this place does have some seriously good bagels, but the staff is at best highly disorganized and at worst very rude. I went there a few months ago early in the morning, shortly after they opened at 4 am. I placed my order with the guy who usually works the grill. He didn't even start my order, he walked away and went into the walk in in the back of the store. Someone else eventually took my order AGAIN and got my food for me. Then the guy who took my order the first time came back and didn't even bother saying anything to me. Now today. They claim on their website AND their menus that they offer delivery. I called up to place a delivery order. After being put on hold (I guess thats what they call putting the phone down on the counter so the customer can hear the commotion in the store), I give the lady my address. Had to repeat it a few times until she gets it right. Then she asks me if it's a house or a business. I tell her its a house. She proceeds to tell me "we don't deliver to houses" and hangs up on me. WHAT??!! To the owners of this place- you obviously have a successful business as you've gone from one store to four. Must be doing something right. However I think you need to reevaluate your employee standards because the people you're hiring suck!!! And if it truly is your policy not to deliver to residences MAYBE you should state that in advance DON'T YOU THINK??!! read more
