Thanks to Yelp, I found this place and popped in for a bagel. Love how large spacious and clean it was, and everybody working was super friendly. Typical breakfast menu items but they also had some yummy looking grill and lunch options. The scene seemed quite a few locals sitting around at the tables eating, which is always a good sign. Their coffee is rich and bold, and would def not have second thoughts of getting a cup. I've yet to order an espresso drink. Lines move fast and service is fast. There are refrigerated drinks like juice, Gatorade, water, and cream/milk. Seating is limited -about 5 tables- but it is more of a grab-and-go place. I came by to pick-up and ordered a dozen and half of different varieties of bagels. For every six bagels, you get one free. Counter Serving Staff are respectful, friendly and helpful. This place opens at 7 am. When I got in around 8 am, this place was busy. Clean and well lighted dining area and so as their kitchen very visible from their dining area. A few of my kids classmates would occasionally work here and I believe that while away for college, they still welcome their help on their breaks from school. And I notice this with customers in front of me and behind me. So, I am there already so I request a Pumpernickel bagel with Tuna for first time at that location figuring South Plainfield does this well why shouldn't Metuchen. I was triggered by the ridiculous price of the bagel w/ tuna and small coffee. Almost $13. The other location is much less. I asked how much for tuna and bagel, he stated $9.61. I did express my unhappiness and believe he made that price up right then. And to boot, when I got to my destination, the bagel was that of a day old bagel. I made bagels in my youth for a local bagel shop and at my age have eaten many a bagel. Not an expert but anyone with tase buds and a mind knows a stale bagel and what I had for $9.61 was stale. I believe a shop has an obligation to toss out the stale bagels or at least let you know not made the same day. We've been trying new spots for breakfast and this place is hands down the worst. The turkey bacon was sent raw in our meals, the food wasn't wrapped properly (couldn't spare enough foil to wrap the sandwiches)- causing the sandwiches to falling apart, the eggs were cold, hair in the cream cheese and the bread extremely soggy. These are a lot of issues for one order- I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The food was terrible. Millburn looks like it's their 3rd location ( I think). Great bagels made in the old traditional way of "boiling" first as opposed to the sticky "steam" process. Bagels have a nice crispy exterior with just the essence of seeds; if you want a poppy, sesame, or everything. They're not loaded with seeds if you looking for that. Though the bagel may not be overly flavorful like Super Duper, the lightness of the inside of the bagel allows for great sandwiches and spreads; and they have a good variety of that. This looks like a winner for the Millburn/Short Hills area. read more

IF YOU CAN NOT OR DO NOT WANT TO MAKE SPECIALTY COFFEE THAN DO NOT ADVERTISE IT! The young man finished making it. And it would be good if that rude lady packed the coffee like you're supposed to. But she didn't so it tasted like milk. Next I order my bagel sandwich. Service is pretty quick so I was in and out in less than 10 mins. I drive home to eat my bagel and it's disgusting. The bagel is dry. There's barely any egg or cheese on it. I mean I was biting into just to slices of old, dry bagel before I could get to the egg and cheese. The best part about this place is it's timeliness and it's a lot cheaper than other places. But I didn't even eat my sandwich or drink my coffee so really it was a waste! We tried a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese (amazing cream cheese) and a raisin bagel with plain cream cheese. We didn't get our bagels toasted but we should have just lightly.
