I really want to like this place but I just can't. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes you get good service most of the time you get waitresses that clearly hate their job. And one lady he wears perfume so thick you can't smell anything but her. The staff stares at you when you walk in like they rather you not be there. The food is ok but nothing with bragging about. Mostly just boring and typical of a cheap place to eat. The only reason we keep going back is because we are sick of the other options in Goliad. We stopped to eat here on way to Port Aransas because the restaurant we had planned on eating at was closed on Sunday. Service was horrible, to the point that in my adult life I have NEVER not left a tip and this restaurant was not tipped by anyone in our party. We ordered guac and queso and were given chips in two small salad bowls and last time I checked you get chips when your order guac and queso. Meanwhile other tables got baskets. We got that, our food and a refill we did not ask for and NEVER saw waitress again. The restaurant did get busy but she purposely ignored us. I have a sneaky suspicion it was because we were not locals which if that is the reason- whatever. My suggestion is if you are ever in Goliad on a Sunday- find a Whataburger. The only positive I can add is that the salsa was decent but can probably be bought at the grocery store! read more

Food was really fresh. We had tacos and a beef fajita salad which came served like a taco salad in a crispy shell. The kids had the burger and fries which were excellent. The burger was fresh ground beef and the fries fresh cut. Excellent choice for our family. read more

Absolutely horrible. We have eaten before and never had this problem. We ordered the special , ribeye steak comes with a bake potatoes and a very tiny salad. Water to drink. We shared one plate. The steak had so much grizzel in it. Was so tough we could not cut it are chew it. The waitress said she would have the mgr come talk to us. Well 20 minutes later she came out. We told her it was extremely tough. The owner then said I'm sorry , but sometimes that's the way it comes and walk off after telling us she was not cooking us another one. We go to the register to pay and she said that woukd be 42.00. We said what! We order the special for 14.99. lol. She was trying To charge us for two plates. Once she got it straight are at least we thought she did. She said that will be 21.99. We said we didn't eat the dang steak!!! It was rubbery!!! Owner.... Said. You age your potato right? We said yes! She then said you both ate your salad right? We said yes we halved it. Owner ... said ok I'm charging for your potato and salad with one drink. Guess what? It exactly what we would have paid if we had eaten the dang rubbery steak. Will never ever go here again. Bad service. You don't your customers this way. We have owned several businesses. We called prior to coming and they said we needed a reservation but since they weren't busy, we were able to go eat inside. Which was kinda weird that they asked us but it is what it... The spot seems nice from the outside and the staff did seem nice but they took long to bring my salsa. I asked for it once we got our order and the young lady didn't come with it, until way later and I had already finished my lunch. I had chicken mole enchiladas and they were aight. The chicken was nice and soft but the mole didn't seem authentic, at least to me. I also ordered a coffee and it was room temperature. If it was old, they could have told me if I wanted a fresh pot or something else but I just needed something warm. My husband ordered country fried chicken and said it was good. Which I think is weird since this is suppose to be a Mexican restaurant. I didn't like the fact that they did not enforce Covid precautions. For me La Bahia restaurant is what I remember Mexican restaurants being when I was young. This was my third visit as I'm having an extended stay in Goliad. The food is very good and consistent. The staff is very friendly but occasionally gets overwhelmed. This is never an issue for me as I'm never in a hurry. Their ground beef is some of best I've ever had! It is so flavorful and spiced and cooked perfectly. All of the menu items I've tried are the beef enchiladas, Tex-Mex w/crispy beef taco, Panchos, Chili con Queso w/beef and sopapillas. There salsa is thin but very tasty and the chips are very good. Currently they are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday with limited hours and request you make a reservation. read more

Haven't eaten at LaBahia in years so while we were junking in Goliad we thought we needed to stop in. I ordered enchiladas Verde Ala carte and boy, they did not disappoint! Hot! Fresh! Tart tomatillo sauce all over! Absolutely delicious ! The restaurant had only two customers when we arrived at 2:15 p.m. Strangely, we were asked if we had reservations. Uh, no. Just lunch for two. Sissy ordered the Tex-Mex plate with cheese enchiladas covered in chopped, fresh onions, rice and beans, and Carne guisada. Everything was hot and fresh! First time here. Came to the Goliad Christmas market days. The menu is limited. Order the Carne Gusida plate. Flour tortillas were under cooked. Guisada only had 9 small pieces of meat the size of a cherrio. The gravy was Not homemade. Tasted like it was Brown gravy out of a jar. Extremely disappointed in the food. My husband's food was served in 2 sessions. It was supposed to be all the same on the menu. Enchiladas came after his champagne. Like 12 minutes after the fact. Will NOT be returning. read more

I've eaten here a few times as it is mammas favorite Mexican restaurant. Bahia has been around for ever and their food is OK not great but certainly above average. Service is friendly and competent. We brought mamma for an early Mother's day lunch on Sat and we had a not so good experience. They claimed they were slammed but there were at least 3-4 tables open during our visit. We patiently waited for a table for about 15 minutes even though tables were open. When we asked to be seated they accommodated us. Mamma has a walker but the host, not using common sense, tried to direct us to a back table instead on one of the closer tables. I politely asked to be seated at a closer table to avoid having mamma navigate through a cramped dining room. Once seated our server told us they were slammed today and to please be patient. We were patient but it took over an hour to get our meals. During this time our, very nice, server apologized multiple times, and refilled our drinks and chips. If it was just us I would have bailed at the 30 minute mark. Once our food arrived it was OK. Mamma loved her entrée so it's all good. Yea, we will be back and hopefully with a better experience. It's a nonalcoholic CANTINA :-( They have chips and salsa and can request the extra spicy. It's good. Fajita was kinda chewy. The full order of fajita panchos is reasonable ... . Pico de Gallo was fresh. The servers we're polite. Service was ok. Restaurant was clean. read more

This use to be the best Mexican food around when the Rubio family owned and ran this restaurant for years. Now, the food is nothing to speak of. A cantina with no alcohol is kind of strange to me, but the food was very good. We all ordered something different so we could try more stuff out, and I am glad we did. We ordered all three types of enchiladas, cheese, beef and chicken. All were very good, but only the beef really stood out to me as being above average. My son ordered to beef fajita quesadilla, which I would have to say was the star of dinner. Meat had great flavor and the quacamole was so good. Mexican is my favorite and my boyfriend and I love to try new Mexican places everywhere we go. We got the combination enchilada plate (cheese) with crunchy beef taco and chalupa. This was the worst Mexican food either one of us have ever had. The salsa was pretty much just tomato soup. The shell on the chalupa and taco had the texture of styrofoam and I had to work just to bite off a piece. The refried beans were burnt and oily. The rest of the food was so bland. read more

I don't even want to give this place one star. First off, it was $30 for one meal, a tiny plate of bean and cheese nachos and a beer. Everything was bland and nasty. My kid loves crunchy tacos and she made the most horrible face when she bit into a taco and wouldn't eat any more. It didn't even taste like beef in the taco. Pale weird meat. My oldest got bean and cheese nachos and she wouldn't eat any of it they were so bland and crappy. Seriously, some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The food has always been good when me and my family come through. When we visit we usually order the No. 3 dinner plate. The beverages are always good; even though it's a bring your own booze restaurant. The combo orders are split into two separate plates: the front plate which consists of a quick, easy to prepare appetizer; and a main course, which consists of two cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans. Our servers are never disrespectful; and our food comes out when it is ready. However; this is not the restaurant to go to if you like fast and frequent service. Unfortunately I was lead to believe that La Bahia was the best food in town. I have never had such awful food. In fact I don't think I can even call it that. It was brown and had NO taste.
